Im so sorry to hear you are struggling so much, even at microscopic doses. This drug is pure poison! Hopefully you will feel better closer to zero.

You are doing an amazing job! The knowledge you have about your situation and how to taper is unique!

I think that fact will be to your advantage and that you will win this fight. So close now.

<p>Sept 2015: 5 mg Cipralex for 3 weeks. Lots of side effects. Reduced to 2.5 mg for 2 weeks. Experiencing withdrawal and side effects still after dose reduction. Quit after almost 4 weeks on 2.5 mg because of adverse effects. Experiencing withdrawal symptoms still. Reinstating 1mg after 3 weeks. Reduced to 0.50 after 2 days due to sensitive reaction (dysautonomia) and trip to ER. January 2016: After 14 months of tapering from 0.5 mg im now down to 0.08mg. Planing on one more drop before 4-8 weeks healing, then jump to zero. 14.03.17: Lexapro free!

I did. Tooth canal.

The pain afterwards lasted quite long and made me worry, but eventually went away without messing up the whole thing.

I believe the tooth work maybe also the local anathesia cause it. I couldn't take pain killer either.

Thx again, Lex!

Im mostly worried about reaction to the local anasthesia. Even paracetamol causes paradoxical reactions in me. The pain is less sharp, almost gone today. Noticed som muscle spasm in my arm also after the cut. Not present today. Feeling better all over, and Im sensing a window, which is a bit surprising after the cut. Guess the next few days will tell me more...

Good to hear!

Other health situation can be a big concern for us going through the process. Hope nothing major and it resolves by itself.

Yeah, interesting, as for me, ever since the reaction hit, I always feel better after each cut. Will see how it goes for you. Good sigh if it's indeed a window from a cut, an indication of easier jumping off completely.

Its been five days since my drop to 0.04. Experience some worsening in symptoms: Head pressure, neuro-emotions (anger/irritability), fatigue and some problems sleeping. The symptoms are mild so far. Im also noticing some itching/pain in my throat, which could be an early sign of an throat infection (it usually is for me). Went swimming in a pool a few days back (bad idea). I def suspect a virus. My toothache is better.

Hope they all go away soon. I had a strange throat sensation after the big drop then it developed into a severe flu like thing. Thought it was a true flue only after I realized it was from withdrawal.

What a relief the toothache is subsiding.

Thx again, Lex! What you are saying is interesting. Definitely feels like flu, but maybe its just WD. These drugs can really fool us sometimes. I only got 2 hours of sleep last night, and felt like having fever. Warm and sweating a lot too. Are you feeling better from those symptoms yourself now?

Oh, the flu like thing came very sudden like a storm after couple days throat dry sensation, with fever, head congestion, body aches I never had that type of bad flu, it only lasted for 1.5 days then stopped like a sudden storm turned away all symptoms completely stopped all together in a second. Very strange and how I figured it was not a real flu. It happened after my drop of dose from 0.8 to 0.2 mg in a week. It never came back, although I'm having bad WD symptoms still now ( dropped from 0.2 to 0.06mg now) in the next 3 weeks, so total drop of almost 0.8 mg in the past month. My current WD symptoms are head and body pressure and numbness on the left, paralyzed feeling left side gphead to toe, feeling spasm left head and back, jaw/toothaches, drug reaction symptoms now are needling pain, DR and blurred vision, not much pre-akathisia feeling ( main reason for the fast drop).

how is your brain functioning? Does the pressure interface with brain function? Can you perform normally at work? I can bear with the physical pain and discomfort but the brain dead is killing me.

Also about sleep. I have been sleeping too much ever since the drug reaction, like I am knocked off by the dose. Usually cutting dose would make the sleep hours less immediately the night after. a few days ago, I started having insomnia ( 0.08mg) but thankfully it went away. I know for sure it's due to the 0.06 mg I'm still taking so once I'm at zero, I will have huge problems with sleep. I learned just recently that even 0.004 mg can do a lot, so willpower try to hold on some tiny dose like that for as long as possible.

Just want to say hi, Cipramillion! I saw that you live in Norway, I live in Sweden. I am also super sensitive to ssri and down to a really low dose of Zoloft. Now 0.11 mg. (Therapeutical dose is 50 mg.)

You are almost there!

Started on 25 mg Zoloft in March 2011 due to stressrelated tinnitus that gave me panicattacks. Had a terrible reaction to Zoloft from start, but was told to "hold on". After four months I was stuck. Therefore the long taper. Crazy, I know... Super sensitive to drops and have dropped by 4-6 % from the previous dose.

Insomnia is just the worst symptom ever! The power of this drug is beyond comprehension. Sounds like you need to microtaper further at extremely low doses. Im considering that an option also. Will make my descision in a few weeks. We will get there!

Hi, AmyK! Thank you for posting.

Sorry about all the trouble you have been through because of Zoloft. You have come such a long way from 50mg. Just show what can be done with the right mindset and patience!

At what dose will you try to jump off?

My brain is actually in pretty good shape. Im having some difficulty witth short term memory and inattention/focus, but not that bad. Great to hear your brain is in its own state. It's the hardest among all with the brain paralyezed.

I don't think I can plan anything anymore about the dose, it has been a decision moment by moment in the past months all depending on. How my body feels. So that will be the hope, to hang on with a tiny dose as long as possible if my body allows.

I dont know when to jump, Cipramillion. I might at 0.05 mg. It's incredible that those small doses still are potent. I still feel decreases. But I also have a lot of side effects still. I really long for zero.

Take care!

I know! I weigh 1 mg on a digital scale. That's the smallest I can weigh. (That is 0.33 mg zoloft.) I put this tiny bit in 1 ml water and use a syringe to decrease.

It feels quite accurate.

10 days since drop and im definitely in a wave right now. Joints/muscles aching all over the place, insomnia, mild akathisia and insomnia. Hpoing this will pass in the next weeks. I might need to taper further than i first planned before i jump. Cant believe this is happening, just going from 0.08mg to 0.04mg.

Stay strong Cipramillion. You're almost there.

I see the light at the end of the tunnel, and im very excited about quitting Lexapro for good (i hope). Lots of emotions coming and going these days. Anger is one of them. Im gonna use it as fuel for fighting this poison in the final round.

How are you these days? Have you decided to change to Celexa?

Very good thinking to turn the bad emotion into good use!

I know it's unrealistic to expect anything good too soon for me, but hope some turning point somewhere end of April/ early May as that would be the time I could have reached the current dose by the original taper schedule. Paralyzed brain and body is what I have been having constantly which is very disabling especially for work. I hope I can survive couple more months at work even like a total crap, and can function a bit Soon. I have a presentation to give late March which is a huge stress. I did the slides like a retarded but did it over a very long time, but I worry a lot that I can't make to the conference room early morning, can talk at all if my situation won't improve.

It's a good sign you got strong emotions back. On the other hand, It shows how that 0.04 mg can still do suppressing the brain. Really want the whole world to know what kind of danger one can be put into by taking the therepatic dose!

Enjoy every minute of the good day, be proud of yourself!

Oh, about the switch, the pharmacy did citopram instead of Celexa even the scrip says Celexa, so I just requested to change it to Celexa. It probably will be ready this week,

Deep down in my heart, I'm still hoping to see some improvement or at least not worsening in the next few days. If so I may still try to hold and see before the switch. I dropped every day since January 1st until I reached 0.07 mg 9 days ago. So I have been holding for 9 days at this dose so maybe my system can stabilize a bit soon? The concern about Celexa is the equavellent dose, and its histamine inhibiting effects. Will see.

Thank you! My brain is totally fried, still struggling to know weather it's from WD or reaction. So it's really hard to make a decision which way to move.

Citopram is the generic form for Celexa. Celexa is manufactured by the same company as for Lexapro.

I see. It is important to get the original. I got the generic Lexapro at first, and it gave me a headache from hell!

Your case is as unique as mine in a different way. It is hard to understand the super difficulty in your WD as you were on the low dose for just a few weeks. So unfair! Thank God you are almost making it out.

I'm still indecisive about the switch although I'm completely stuck in extreme WD and reaction. This hell is bottomless even you think it can't be any worse,

Do you have a clear daily pattern?

Drug free Sep. 23 2017

So sorry to hear that, Lex. Reaction and WD is the worst from both worlds. So hard to make that choice. Does it feel intolerable, or can you imaging riding it out a couple of more months and see if you get better?

My symptoms dont follow a distinct pattern. I suspect my doses dont get accurate anymore at this level, and that could trigger reaction. I hope the jump will fix this and that the WD will be mild at this ultra low dose. But who knows. Cant take anything for granted with Lexapro!

WD symptoms are mainly pressure, paralyzed left brain and body, and short breathless which is not very tourturing but highly disabling. Reeding pain and burning allover from reaction is very hard to bear. The two alternate, with WD in control when I drop dose ( like last night dropped 0.0025mg) and reaction in control when I hold. I have been dropping dose everyday for a few months when WD is not too bad, to control the reaction now don't have much to drop, while WD is in its full force too so no room to play anymore in both directions. If I don't have to work, I think I can ride it out assuming no more new or worsening WD symptoms which is another big unknown. Not only it's extremely hard to get anything done at work, I barely can pretend for a few minutes in front of others. Ppl can tell something is wrong and it's not usually illness even I don't talk. Still reaction to drug change and dose incraese can be a total disaster. Feeling like a nightmare the whole thing for years and now at this situation.

I found diluting Lexapro liquid gives very accurate measure. I have 5mg/5ml liquid, I take one drop ( about 0.04mg) and add 100 ml water to the drop. That gives me 0.004mg/ 10 ml and I can tell it's very accurate. You are almost done though, may not worth the hassle.

I believe your last step will be rather smooth maybe couple post finish line refine in the first couple months, soon you will leave this nightmare in the far distant behind!

Sorry I posted that much about me to your thread. I will limit it to a more appropriate level.

Thanks for your kind patience listening and being very supportive!!

Jesus christ, Lex. Lexapro is such a dangerous drug! Makes me so angry to hear how bad you are suffering because of this poison

Still, you are so close to crossing the finishing line now. Give it a few months and all this shall pass in time. The reactions you  are describing sounds horrible. Maybe WD is better than reaction torture?

And you can write as much as you like on this wall. No problem!

Junglechicken:

Lundbeck only makes 1mg/20 ml in Europe. What a joke. Guess withdrawal syndrome dont exist in their book. So hard to make accurate doses:(
