Ok, so ND has said its ok for me to take anti-histhamines while I'm plagued with rashes and intense facial itching.

Thank God! Will take it before bed.

My poor father had to go into hospital yesterday after a fall (he hit his head), and he also has a urinary infection. I think he will be back home today though. Parkinsonism is a long, slow and nasty neurological degenerative illness.

DAY 2/3 "Biological Sample Collection" - COMPLETE

Note: I am even MORE traumatized from this experienced, want to throw up :0(

JC,

Sorry to hear about your father.  That is hard.

I hear you.  I did that process.  It's gross but if you can find your way to thinking of it as what it is -- simply a testing device to understand what is happening in your body -- perhaps you will be better able to move past it.  I got some useful information out of my testing. I hope you do as well.

I know you are placing a lot of faith in the ND and the last thing I want to do is create any doubt for you, but, I feel it is my obligation to tell you to research the site a little regarding antihistamines and their impact on SSRI withdrawal.  The histamine system is very complex and I want to make sure you go into this with your eyes wide open.  At the very least, please keep aware for any reactions you have to the antihistamine if and when you start them.

http://survivingantidepressants.org/index.php?/topic/505-antihistamines-and-what-to-use-for-allergy-relief/

At their root, the SSRIs are antihistamines in nature and that can be the source of problems in this histamine system.

Thank you Andy for the heads up re: anti-histhamine use and for your support re: the, well....you know!

I thought it was too good to be true. Will check out those links.....guess it's the "paradoxical effect".

Also, since I started my Detox 3 weeks ago, my "Body Water Percentage %" is still pretty low at 42%.

The NORMAL range starts at 45% and goes to 60%.

This would suggest I'm very dehydrated, despite drinking throughout the day. I

I am NOT diabetic, and have completely normal blood sugar.

Off to see my folks tomorrow.........

Dad is being kept in hospital for a few days under observation  :(

We're going to visit him on our way down to the "West Country".

I think they're checking for signs of possible stroke, etc.,

Mum is beside herself with worry; now hubby and I have to sort out nursing home for Dad a few days a week.

Didn't sleep well at all last night......VERY itchy face (didn't take anti-histamine), bad period pain.......the usual

Dad is ok, got discharged day before yesterday......postural hypertension, so his medication has been revised. He was back to usual self again thank God.

In the meantime my hair keeps coming out in chunks :( Also, my skin is REALLY bad :(

The ND has suggested a couple of creams to try so I'm praying that they will work.......completely out of ideas :(

Have been detoxing for a month now......weight has dropped by 10Ibs which is good, so 1-2Ibs weight loss per week.

Got to wait for my Genova lab results to come back to determine what will happen next, i.e. 6 week Gut Cleanse?

My therapist has given me a relaxation CD to help bring down my stress levels, in addition to exercising.

Hi JC:

I glad your dad is ok.

That's great you have dropped 10 pounds. :) I still haven't started my diet. With my nausea, I don't want to "rock the boat" anymore than my body is now.

Good luck on the creams. I hope your skin starts healing soon. :)

Take care,

Thank you Frogie, it was a traumatic 12 hrs visiting my Dad in hospital and my mother was a complete nervous wreck.

Yes, the weight loss is good, but I HAVE to get a grip on my mood.  The skin is untreatable....I have tried everything

Absolutely HAVE to start meditating/doing relaxation exercises or I'll have NO hair left and ALL my skin will be covered in dermatitis.

We ALL have our issues Frogie with this thing called WD.

You have your nausea, and I have horrible eczema/dermatitis; which is untreatable (have tried everything) other than by altering my mind-set.

Have had to take anti-histhamine :(

Skin is just too raw and itchy.

Link to post

So I've got a combination of anti-histhamine and "Hope's Relief" cream and spray to stop the itching.

Literally, I have no skin left so cannot go on without taking action.

The emolient stopped working.

My skin has calmed down a lot thanks to the anti-histhamine / special cream combo.

Now I'm experiencing bladder sensitivity and lower abdominal pain :0(

Have also started taking Milk Thistle to support my liver.

Frustrated with endless pain.

My biological sample results will be released on 13th May.

Have been hit with another bout of cystitis......I think its being caused by the detox.

Reckon its because the detox has caused yeast "die off" which have ended up irritating my bladder.

I have felt achy today - hips, lower back, legs.

Needless to say my mood has been low, and my anxiety always increases.

I guess my concern is that its ovarian cancer because of the tummy pain :(

JC. Have you kept up with the colloidal silver ?  I had some of your issues but they are mainly gone now with a little bit of help. C/ Silver and carrot juice This can sometimes be rectified in a few days with the right alkaline diet.

Have you given up dairy yet ?  That can sometimes help.

Hi Ali,

There are a lot of food groups I'm not eating, and dairy is one of them, lol.

I've been detoxing for over a month now and would say my diet is about as alkali and healthy as it gets with no allergenic foods at all.

I hadn't kept up with the CS but have been taking cystitis sachets.

My feeling is that the root cause is "Endotoxin" die off getting into the bladder.

Hugs,

JC

Thanks Ali,

For all I know this is a "healing event" caused by the detox OR

It's emotional, OR

it really IS cystitis.

All I know is, whenever I get swabs done, or dip tests.....they always come up negative.

Wishing you love and light with your healing too.

Lower abdominal pain has subsided......accompanying that pain was a whole load of body aches and pains.

There is a strong chance the cause is emotional.

If I were to look back through my symptom log, I could correlate these "pain events" (always lower abdominal) to my emotional state.

Of course, if I wanted to get conclusive answers, I would need to have some scans done.

I am far from settled in life, and it doesn't take much for me to become agitated, stressed and upset.

Its also possible that this is symptom transferral.....reason being, as my eczema/dermatitis has been calming thanks to the anti-histamine/special creams I have been using......then immediately after, I get hit with the lower abdominal pain.

I have found a really good article about "Understanding Healing Crisis".  Something most of us are dealing with - see link below:

http://jonburras.com/pdfs/understanding-healing-crisis.pdf

The author Jon Burras mentions "Unfortunately, most medical professionals and professional therapists are not trained in how to understand the healing crisis. The medical establishment wishes to categories a healing crisis as a “breakdown”, or disease. They equate being in control at all times as the normal model for health and loss of control is equal to disease.

Most people, when turning to medical professionals for help, are either hospitalized or medicated in order to suppress the symptoms. While this may help one to lessen the intensity of the experience and bring one back to normal- control- it does very little to actually help one through the healing crisis. Many people live life numb and avoid feeling and sensation at all costs.

They become alarmed when strong sensations and emotions begin to emerge. When entering into a healing crisis many of these sensations are not pleasant and can be very painful. Pain, pressure, and lack of coordination are some common complaints when experiencing a healing crisis. Other symptoms may include frequent urination, heavy sweating, depression, explosive anger, or even vomiting.

The body during these times tends to enter into a state of chaos. Extreme tiredness is another common side affect. Some people even report a sense of giddiness or silliness that does not stop."

Off to see the nurse this morning for yet ANOTHER urine "dip test".

Been in a lot of pain and have had to take pain killers :(

My ND has advised "Keep taking cranberry, drink lots of filtered water (NO tap water) and eat plenty of garlic (nature’s antibiotic). A course of acidophilus will also help."

Yet ANOTHER dip test with a negative result.

The nurse has sent my urine sample for lab culture to see if they've missed something.

Other than that, its sachets, drinking loads of water, garlic etc.,

Still experiencing bladder pain/lower abdominal pain :(

Next step (once I get my urine lab culture result back), will be a swab (AGAIN), followed by a pelvic scan.

I think the pelvic scan will be unavoidable this time round.

Hi JC,

I have been going thru a vast variety of GI issues since CTed meds.

A have heard about a liver detox but idk how to do it simple way.

If u or sb here know it then pls help me.

Hi bhasski,

I'm taking "Milk Thistle" tincture to support my liver during this Detox.

Put 10-20 drops into water and just drink.

As for a dedicated liver detox, I'm not sure.  I'm doing a "full body" detox which includes all organs in the body.

I have been on a Detox program since 24 March this year (just over a month), and will continue doing it until I get my stool sample analysis results back.  At which point, my Naturopath will advise whether I should do a 6 week cleanse etc.,

This is a very long-term diet change which could take 2-3 years to get my GI tract "healthy" again.  It depends on the level of damage:

Auto-immune diseases

Candida overgrowth

Cealieac

Chrons

Inflammation

I wouldn't know what I was doing or what symptoms meant without doing it under supervision.

JC

Hi JC--  I'm so sorry that you're going through all this constant pain and skin problems.  I haven't had a clue what to suggest so I've kept quiet.  It just hit me a few minutes ago that your pelvic pain is sounding a lot like what several other members experienced a few years ago.  I can't remember their names and it may have even been back at at Prior Place.  Any way. for several of them it ended up being a manifestation of PGAD (Persistent Genital Arousal Disorder).  It never showed up on the scans or tests.  If I remember rightly it had a component of restricted blood flow and at least for the guys the supplement Saw Palmetto helped take the edge off.  Some of them also tried exercises to strengthen the Pelvic Floor with very negative results.  Unfortunately I can't remember what they did to improve things except to wait it out.  This probably isn't a lot of help, but it may give another avenue to explore.

Hope you catch a break and feel better soon.

Brass,

Thank you for telling me about PGAD as a possible cause; I had heard of it due to the number of people on SA who are suffering from it.

I think its inevitable that I'll have to have more tests done, as the pelvic pain has been around since last year, and this isn't something that can just be left.

The effect of the Detox I'm doing called "Herx Reaction" or "Healing Crisis" is severe.

My body is attacking itself all the time by throwing out inflammation signals causing eczema, and that I should scratch and as a result the eczema has been getting worse.  I could either drive myself completely insane and not do anything about it, or take anti-histamine and these special Australian creams for dry skin conditions called "Hope's Relief".

Its possible the lower abdominal pain is coming from my gut, but it feels like my bladder, hence having to get tested at the medical centre.  Trouble is, all those organs are so close together in a woman's body that one cannot be sure, and so testing will have to be more in depth.

Unfortunately, I think my "Herx Reaction" to the Detox diet is severe, because the level of inflammation and chronic illness in my body as a result of Candida Albicans is severe.  The manifestation of the internal inflammation ends up on the skin (being our largest organ) as eczema and other lovely skin diseases.

All I can say is watch this space

Hi JC

Sorry to read that you have been really poorly of late. I have had a well needed break from the internet and am just catching up with everything on here.

It is a good idea to get any symptoms you have checked out as this will put your mind at rest. I expect all will be OK and that it is 'just'! WD.  My hair is falling out too and I have always had thick hair. I think it is down to the recent shocks my system went through.

Take care and hope you are able to enjoy the holiday today.

Hi Flowers,

Welcome back my fave Brit in Spain!

No such luck for me today......horrible bladder pain/GI issues (had to take painkillers and keep a hot water bottle on my tummy). Feel like I'm going to die :0(

I think it's "Candida die-off" symptoms which are very intense and painful. My Naturopath is on holiday until the end of the week so no support from her - agonizing. Nothing showed up on the "dip test", as usual so I'm waiting to hear back re: the lab culture.

Will have to steal myself to go and see a gyn doc as this is scaring me.

Flowers it's so good to have you back - apologies for not being more supportive back.

Hugs,

Oh JC you poor thing.

I agree you should get checked out. As a fellow health anxiety sufferer I know you will be worrying yourself about it.  Please try not to if you can. I have had weird health symptoms and pain and it always comes back to WD. I think the anxiety will find a way to come out in any channel it can.

Please don't apologise for not being supportive. You have always been a great help to me and I understand you have your own issues to deal with. To be honest I needed a break from the internet to concentrate on healing from the last disaster! So I gave myself a little break.

I will look out for your posts to see how you are doing.

Hugs right back.

Hugs Flowers and thank you for understanding :0)

It's definitely a UTI/Cystitis. My symptoms match the symptoms I googled - Swollen bladder causing pain, urgency to pee and endless trips to the bathroom.

For some reason the pain has gotten really bad today - hey ho. Will have to wait until tomorrow <<<<SIGH>>>>>
