@andy I'm so glad you've posted how you dealt with withdrawal symptoms getting off Zyprexa. I too noticed that exercise made me feel better (I had stopped exercise because I had gotten new shoes that didn't fit me). I've been juicing vegetables (an orange with peel) and roots, and eating power greens and steamed vegetables daily, but I think exercise is also an excellent way to purify the body and possibly get the vitamins to work better in the body.

Wow, this is seriously the only success story I've found on getting off olanzapine. On the entire freaking internet.

I am horrified and I haven't even begun my taper yet and I'm at twice your dosage for over a year. I am starting by dropping the dose to 7.5mg tomorrow. I don't know if anyone will see this. I feel so alone in this.

Currently hopeless on

60mg Vyvanse (40mg 2010-2022; 60mg 2022)

10mg Olanzapine (1 year)

2700mg Gabapentin (5 years)

8mg Suboxone (was on 2mg for 3 years, tapered to 0 in 2011; started back on suboxone March 2022)

Starting Olanzapine taper to 7.5mg April 01, 2022

Will lower Vyvanse to 50mg April 01, 2022 and continue reduction as I lower olanzapine - hoping it will help reduce anxiety

@apollyon

SA recommends reducing by no more than 10% of the current dose.

Please see Post #1 of this topic which explains how to get non standard doses:

and

Why taper by 10% of my dosage?

Thank you will check it out.

I talked to someone yesterday that calmed me down, they were able to jump cold turkey off zyprexa at 5mg. And while this is not what I plan on doing, there story reminded me that not everyone has the same withdrawal or taper side effects, and most importantly, there are probably a plethora of people who've gotten off zyprexa that simply haven't felt the need to share their story, or didn't have much of a story to share, or didn't feel the need to seek support while in the process of getting off it, so I can be rest assured that others have successfully gotten off this drug.
