Actually, my window closed a few days ago. Anxiety has returned. But not as bad as previously - thank God. I pray it does not get any worse. Hopefully it won't last long. It was definitely triggered by life stress.

And you know how it can be in recovery - stress that other people handle, or get a little anxiety about, can cause us strain and anxiety outside the norm.

History: Prozac & Lithium from 1999 to 2003. Ended up back on after 4 months because taking a beta-blocker caused immediate depression (just 2 doses - turned out I didn't even need it; I had no other withdrawal symptoms - I might have ended up med and withdrawal-free otherwise :(). - Switched to Effexor (75mg 3/day) and Seroquel (50mg 3/day) in 2010. - Did a self-taper during 2016. - Developed Discontinuation Syndrome 02/17.

Supplements: Magnesium-Glycinate 400mg split into 4 100mg doses throughout the day. Vitamin C 500mg - once per day. Fish Oil 1360 mg (950 mg Active Omega-3) - twice per day.

I'm sorry to hear that. You were doing so well.

I will pray it opens back up quickly for you.

I have a lot of anxiety. After I'm done with Lexapro, I'm going to give my body a rest, then start tapering Xanax. I have a ways to go.

You will make it! From everything I have read, proper tapering like you are doing is better than the fast taper/near-cold-turkey that I did. But either way, we will be much better for having gone through recovering, getting off of these "medications," and getting our real lives and personalities back!

Really quick update:

On my way to the dentist again! After all the dental work, one of them that a different dentist worked on is really hurting.

Have a little nausea and anxiety, but to be expected.

Wish me luck everyone! When I talked to my dentist last night, she was talking pulling the tooth and putting in a fake one. :(

I hope she can fix it when I get there.

Take care,

Thanks everyone:

When I talked to the dentist last night, she was afraid that she would have to pull it the way I was describing the pain. And then put a bridge in.

When I got there, she took an X-ray and said she could save the tooth. She drilled, put some medicine in by the nerve and put a temporary filling in.  I have to go back the end of the month and she will put in a permanent filling.

What a relief. :)

I got anxious and nauseous over nothing.

Thanks for caring. It means a lot.

Take care,

I'm sure it's the tooth. It doesn't hurt but she packed it with medicine. I hope it goes away soon.

Hi Frogie. Hang in there. As you already know this takes extreme time and patience.Sometimes that is all we can say, particularly when we all seem to be going through it. I feel this is "patience" on steroids but there also seems to be a higher purpose at play.

Many SSRI's and SSNRI's over 20 years. Zoloft for 7 years followed by Effexor, Lexapro, Prozac, Cymbalta, Celexa, Pristiq, Valdoxan, Mianserin and more - on and off. No tapering. Cold turkey off Valdoxan - end of May 2014

Psych Drug - free since May 2014

Thanks Ali:

I've had some dental work done this last month.

Yesterday, one of the teeth that a different dentist worked on was really hurting. Went to my dentist, she drilled and drilled, then packed it with medicine and put a temporary filling on it. She will put a permanent one in the end of the month. She also put me on antibiotics. I only took one before bed last night.

I woke up this morning nauseous, I'm sure it's the tooth and antibiotics. I think I'm going to pass on the rest of the antibiotics, she said I didn't have to take them.

I'm not nauseous now, but feel really dizzy.

Hope you are doing well :)

Thanks I've had nothing but problems with them for the last month. My dentist was out as she got hurt so I went to another dentist and he has made them worse. I'm in so much pain it's not funny and they have to be the front teeth. Thanks for thinking of me. Take care, Frogie xx

Hi Frogie,

I have a question for you, however first I would like to introduce myself to you.  I'm Rachel and I've been doing a Zoloft taper, after a disastrous cold turkey over a year ago. I've read a lot of your thread and you sound like a incredibly nice person.  I have a feeling if we were neighbors we might be having coffee or tea with each other, at least I like to think so. It's seems like nausea has been a big issue for you for quite a while.  I hope that you eventually get that under control. I had terrible nausea when I went through my CT, it was miserable.  I really feel for you.  However, before I get too off topic here is my question. During one of your very early posts you mentioned your thighs were tight and you could barely walk.  I'm going through the same thing myself so I was wondering if you could share a little more information about that, if you even remember.  I have been told I need to hip replacements and I have what I consider appropriate pain for that, but in addition to that, all the way down my inner things there is a tightness that is different than the hip pain when I step on each leg.  If you do recall what it was like I would really appreciate hearing from you.  You can answer on your page if you like, since I am following you.  I'll get an e-mail letting me know you posted. If you don't recall now worries, it's just nice to say hello.

Warm wishes,

RS

Hi RS:

I do remember the pain. It felt like my muscles froze and couldn't move. Then when I finally did get them to move, it felt like I had been running for miles and miles, does that make sense? I took magnesium and that helped a lot. I also soaked in Epsom salts and that helped a whole lot. Then I would get on the floor and  stretch 3-4 times a day. After about 2 weeks it finally went completely away.

Thanks for the compliment about me being nice. I really try. If we were neighbors I would definitely have a friend by the way you write too. Who knows, we could be neighbors lol...

I hope that helps. If you have any other questions, don't hesitate to ask. I've been through it all. :)

Take care,

Thanks Flowers:

I went to a different dentist and he really messed me up. My dentist had fallen and hurt herself, so she was out of the office.

She had to pull 2 teeth, but I get a partial next week, and it's all straightened out. Just cost a fortune.

What's done is done. When it rains it pours. First our sewer, then last weekend our washer took a dive and now this.

Oh well, it happens.

Hope you are doing well.

Hi Frogie,

That sounds exactly like what I am going through.  I didn't have it when I went CT, but it did start after I reinstated and began to taper. It's so very painful.  I was wondering if it was caused by my taper or by my needing hip replacement, which the doctors say I need. I was on magnesium but stopped, I'll start again.   It nice to be on this web-site and to be able to check in with others and see if they have gone through the same thing.

It does sound like you have gone through and awful lot. I was upset when I read your earlier posts, you really suffered. I hope that you are able to get your nausea under control.  What a nightmare these antidepressants turned out to be.

Thanks for the information neighbor!

Hi:

I went through a lot, and I'm sure I'm not done. After I'm done with Lexapro, then I have Xanax to taper off of. But I've come a long way.

I have my nausea under control for the time being. I'll get it once in a while, but it doesn't last all day and for days like it used to.

I hope I helped. I'm not a dr, but that's what helped me.

We can be neighbors on here. :)

Take care,

Frogie xx

During one of your very early posts you mentioned your thighs were tight and you could barely walk.  I'm going through the same thing myself so I was wondering if you could share a little more information about that, if you even remember.  I have been told I need to hip replacements and I have what I consider appropriate pain for that, but in addition to that, all the way down my inner things there is a tightness that is different than the hip pain when I step on each leg.  If you do recall what it was like I would really appreciate hearing from you.  You can answer on your page if you like, since I am following you.

Hi, RachelSusan,

I will post on your thread because I am dealing with this issue in spades and I don't want to have this discussion on Frogie's thread.  Given her difficulties with the tooth it would likely get two conversations going at once and lead to confusion.

Sertraline 50mg and Clonazapam .375mg from 2000 -- symptoms of dizziness Spring 2012

Thanks, Frogie.  RachelSusan hit the nail on the head.  You are a very nice person.

I have continued to struggle, but I can't say I'm shocked because my CNS has taken a bruising over the past several months with a dramatic increase in the past several weeks.  I'm trying to let things settle down, but...  kind of hard.

I'm so sorry about your teeth.  That is so difficult to deal with even when not in withdrawal.

I hope this passes quickly for you.

Thanks Andy, I really try to be nice. I want people to be nice to me, so it goes both ways.

You have been great to me. I hope you continue to heal.

My teeth are gone, no thanks to the dentist I don't go to, but I'll have a partial next week and go on. The pain meds are horrible and also messing with my bowels (TMI) lol... So are the antibiotics.

I'll be glad when this whole ordeal is overwith.

Be kind to yourself.

Hi Frogie, hope all is OK with you and you are not having too much of a boring Sunday in your small town.  Hope your fiancée is treating you to something nice to do/eat this weekend.

Are you still pretty much without withdrawal symptoms, which is very impressive given the low dose you are now taking?

Hi Joy:

I'm eating soft food right now, as I'm missing the teeth. But Wednesday, I get my partial and then I can eat. One of my teeth hurts next to where she pulled the others. I think it is trying to move. And if I take pain meds, I'm in real trouble going to the bathroom, so trying not to take anything.

It sounds like you are doing great on your dosage. That's wonderful! And losing weight, that's even better. That's great you can do the books without having any problems.

I'm doing great on my dosage. No symptoms at all. I'm not moving for a while though because of my teeth. I want to be as well as I can before I drop a little. But I've had a little nausea. That's the pain meds, not the Lexapro.

We had to get a new washer, so we are going to do laundry today.

Hope all is well with you. :)

Take care,

Frogie xx

Glad it's not too bad for you Frogie. Bet you can't wait to get your new teeth.

I have had a good couple of weeks on the whole. Started  feeling a little under the weather with WD symptoms these last couple of days but no nausea has appeared yet! Just a bit jittery and anxious.

It's been very hot here and the town and beaches are  full of tourists so have been avoiding it all.

Am able to enjoy reading a good book again and some TV - don't like any murder/mystery stuff!

It hasn't been too bad. But now the tooth next to the one that was pulled has shifted a little, so it's a little sore. No biggie.

I'm glad you are doing well, and no nausea that's wonderful! :)

I can't wait for Wednesday.

Thanks for stopping by. It's always nice to hear from you.

Take care,

Frogie xx

Nice to hear from you too Frogie. Murder mystery is to do with my WD - it plays on my mind too much and I don't watch anything to do with animals suffering either! I am just too sensitive to cope with that.

How do you keep cool when it gets hot? I would be staying in and taking lots of cold showers!lol!

It's my WD watching murder/mystery too. And I have never been able to watch anything to do with animal cruelty. They don't deserve it all!

I stay inside with air conditioning. If I have to go out, like to therapy or the dentist, we have air conditioning in the car, so I'm ok.

A lot of things that never bothered me before bother me now that I'm in withdrawl.

Hope you are staying cool. :)
