How long do you estimate your taper will take?

Brass,

Your posts are always, to me, the voice of wisdom and reason and reality.  I'm just starting out on my taper, but you have blazed the trail at no small cost.

I started tapering 2,5 years ago, starting with Wellbutrin 150 mg and Sertraline 100 mg. Luckily I got off Wellbutrin 1,5 years ago!

I was able to taper Sertraline with the 10% method until a year ago when I reached 33 mg Sertraline. I started to have more pronounced wd symptoms after each drop. And I have really no idea of how long time it will take until I'm down to zero, right now it feels like this will be a very long project.... many years....

As I think I said on this thread already I will soon be 3 years into my taper. And there is still a long way to go. I never thought that it would take this long. I am really hoping that it is worth in the long run is because sometimes there have been bad periods. I have had to reinstate at times also. Or changed medications. I have made most progress on the Effexor front. Down from 300 mgs daily at one point.

I am dealing with a lot of anxiety at the moment and I am not really sure if it's a withdrawal symptom or if it's just a reflection of what is going on in my life. A lot of stress related to work predominantly. I won't be making any further changes until the anxiety settles.

Anyway, I will keep trucking on I suppose.

Haven't been on the site for some time but I thought I'd share since I'm finally at the 1mg mark.

Been solely on Paxil for more than 15 years now and started my taper in October of 2013 with a starting dose of 10mg. I've been tapering for close to 3.5 years now and I've had my share of many of the symptoms mentioned here with difficulty sleeping being one of my main problems.

So far my symptoms haven't been too bad(I had to updose March of last year since my sleep/anxiety got pretty bad). I'm unsure how much longer my taper will last before I'm finally off this drug but I'm hoping this year if all goes well.

I've been tapering off Paxil 2 1/2 years rougly from 10mg now at 0,7mg with 1 reinstatement. Been going well I switched to liquid paxil(prexat) 2 years ago because its easier to taper. Also tapering risperdal I switched to liquid 1 month ago I'm now at 2mg and hoping it will take less time than the A/D.
