Yes , although very seldom . If I had to guess probably less than a dozen times in the past 6 months . I was thinking about using it more though , but not sure if using it more but still as needed would be destabilizing .

I suppose you could use propranolol. If you use it often, it could lower your blood pressure. If you use it daily, you'll probably need to taper off in a short taper over a couple of weeks.

Comes and goes . I'm treating it though. I'm not on board with the "no meds" thing . I did that for 4 years and it did improve greatly but every time I get an ailment of any kind it comes back hard . Covid was the last ailment .  I need to function or I don't eat .

I’m doing the same thing. I tried for 9 months and I can’t do it without help anymore. I’ve met my threshold of discomfort and can’t do it anymore. I need to function and more importantly survive

@brassmonkey

Hey Tom ,

I'm holding steady on my taper from Depakote due to some holiday stress that created a good sized wave . However, I changed pharmacies last week and the pills looked a little different. I'm assuming they are from different generic manufacturers. Ever since this change my symptom set has increased and new symptoms have appeared .

Is this possible with a generic to generic manufacture change ?

I have to stay with the current pharmacy so I hope it will settle out after some time . Thoughts ?

Any change in manufacturer has the potential to cause problems. Hopefully things will settle down as you get use to the new tablets. You could try adjusting your dose a little, but I would wait a while to see how things go. Also, it could just be a random wave that decided to hit at that time.

I hope things settle out soon.

20 years on Paxil starting at 20mg and working up to 40mg. Sept 2011 started 10% every 6 weeks taper (2.5% every week for 4 weeks then hold for 2 additional weeks), currently at 7.9mg. Oct 2011 CTed 15oz vodka a night, to only drinking 2 beers most nights, totally sober Feb 2013.

Since I wrote this I have continued to decrease my dose by 10% every 6 weeks (2.5% every week for 4 weeks and then hold for an additional 2 weeks). I added in an extra 6 week hold when I hit 10mg to let things settle out even more. When I hit 3mgpw it became hard to split the drop into 4 parts so I switched to dropping 1mgpw (pill weight) every week for 3 weeks and then holding for another 3 weeks.  The 3 + 3 schedule turned out to be too harsh so I cut back to dropping 1mgpw every 4 weeks which is working better.

Final Dose 0.016mg.     Current dose 0.000mg 04-15-2017

hey @Alice1 I read your story. Praying for you! Currently going through WD but only 3 months in. Not sure if i’m in for the long run or short term but keeping positive and hopefully it doesn’t stay around too long.

I have a question, Ive been on doxy for about 5 months or so and want to get off because I see antibiotics don’t mix well with WD. Did you feel better after stopping doxy? Did you taper or just stop?

2013-2015: Oratane for acne

22/06/2018 - 11/11/2020: Escitalopram 20mg (no taper)

11/11/2020 - 16/06/2022: Escitalopram 10mg (no taper)

16/06/2022 - 04/01/2023: Escitalopram 10mg (June intake = every second day, July intake = every second day, August intake every second day, September intake = every third day, October intake = every third day, November intake = every fourth day, December intake = every fifth day)

I only took 4 pills of Doxy and had a major setback. I also took pain killers for a couple days . It was a kidney stone .  I would ask moderators about your situation .

Hey Tom,

Hey I had a quick question for you. I was just cruising along with my taper feeling ok and mostly stable. I haven't made any drastic changes in dose and everything was going smoothly .However I got extremely carried away with sugar consumption. Within a week and a half I probably ingested 2,000-3,000 grams of the refined sugar (junk food) . Needless to say I'm in a terrible wave . One of my worst waves . Can overdoing sugar really cause this much upset ?

For some people it can cause quite a problem, for others, not so much. It can trigger waves and the like, but they will clear like waves do.

Sugar is interesting stuff. It binds to the GABA and Opioid receptors, which is why is tastes and feels so good to eat. But also, this can actually cause addiction problems and repeated abuse.

Okay, Thank You ,,,

I guess I'm one of the people who are affected by it because I am whacked right now. It's only been a week and it's peaking like they always do but geewizz I never thought sugar could mess me up like this . Course I've never consumed sugar to that degree before ..

Anyway, thanks again for your help ..
