In my brief searches, it seems that Paroxetine (Paxil) markedly decreases the activity of acetylcholine, while Fluoxetine (Proxac) does so to a lesser extent. Drugs that decrease the effects of acetylcholine are known as "anticholinergics". If you do a search, so long as net neutrality rules are still in effect and Pharma companies can't pay to have negative search results hidden, you will find relevant info. Long-term use of anticholinergics have been linked to too many side effects to list here, as well as cognitive decline and dementia later in life. Mourad Posted April 8, 2017 Share Posted April 8, 2017 Hey music321, Yeah, I read about this, too. I guess it's why long-term use of paroxetine makes some people forgetful and less sharp. I've experimented with citicoline (Cognizin) and Huperzine A, both acetylcholine-boosters, and they do help to make me feel less sluggish in my head. Paxil/Seroxat/paroxetine 10 mg for over 20 years Several failed attempts at quitting Slow tapering since June 2016 using liquid paroxetine Presently stabilising at 0,15 ml (0,3 mg) because of the worst withdrawal so far June 2017: tried tapering further to 0,1 ml (0,2 mg) but that backfired badly.
