jamespi Posted May 11, 2017 Share Posted May 11, 2017 Can missing your sertraline for 3 days cause a delayed withdrawal effect a couple of weeks later? Has anyone else experienced hypnogogic jerks combined with gibberish-like exclamations that sound like words but are just wordlike noises? And not just a short yell, like a sentence of gibberish that seems like it's an attempt to communicate something but the words don't form. I can't tell if these reactions are to do with messing up my pill intake, or if they're a symptom of repressed anger bubbling up when I start to lose concsiousness.During the day, i've been trying to be mindful of my anger and not repress it or distract myself, and it's meant that i spend most of the day feeling angry. Occasionally if something particularly frustrating happens, I find myself involuntarily twitching and having to stop myself from shouting/swearing, It feels very similar to the thing happening at night, just I have more conscious control over myself when I'm wide awake.So what I'm trying to figure out is, is this a symptom of missing my pills for a few days semi-recently, or is it a consequence of unrepressing feelings? Sertraline 50mg since January 2017. No issues until two weeks ago, when I went away for what I thought was a day trip, but ended up being 3 days - unfortunately I had no sertraline with me. No withdrawal symptoms during the 3 days, or after I got back and started taking the pills again. A week later I forgot to take a pill for one day. Woke up the next day with slight buzzing all over like withdrawal. Took a pill. Since then I have taken my pill every night just before sleep, and I have having hynogogic jerks combined with talking gibberish (which i feel conscious during but unable to control - almost like a surprised exclamation, but long enough to be a sentence and just wordlike noises)).This goes on till 3am preventing me from sleeping. I've had anxiety / repressed anger since childhood. In the daytime I feel like my repressed anger is bubbling very close to the surface and I find myself having sudden rushes of anger punctuated by twitching and the urge to shout, which seems similar to the jerking experienced at night Link to comment

This is so true, with anything you get on these drugs, dependance, tapering, withdrawal symptoms, side effects, just silent. And if there is something mentioned then their is a serious disconnect between what is said and reality!
