I don't have high BP...it usually happens just before I go to sleep, in bed and when I wake up

- Started various antidepresants in 1983 (doxepin, amitriptiline, anafranil), always stopped abruptly and then reintroduced; Long term use of benzos since 1983, on and off, in times prolonged use
- 2012 re-started Doxepin 75mg, evening. Atenolol 25mg, twice a day (both as a migraine prevention); Low dose of HRT (Sandrena gel +  Utrogestan 100mg)- evening; Nasal spray Otrivine for about 3 years- evening and morning (Used to abuse nasal spray for years). PPI Omeprazole 40mg-evening

- 24.10.2014- Started escitalopram-first 5mg and then 10mg; 5.01.2015- Escitalopram- 2.5mg (I had an adverse response to escitalopram and doxepin; hence I was decreasing escitalopram faster)

- June 2015- decreased Doxepin from 75mg to 50mg; 28 November- intentional over-dose (doxepin- 250mg). 1-2 April- over-dose 350mg, 17.07.2016 Doxepin 150mg- intentional over-dose(Tendency to overdose when stressed out...)

- 22.07.2016- reduced by 1%, 29.07- reduced by 2%, 2.08- reduced by 3%, 9.08- reduced by 4%. Holding for 5 weeks

- 13.09- reduced by 5%, 20.09- reduced by 6%, 27.09.2016 reduced by 7% , 4.10- reduced by 8% = 2.3mg. Holding for 5 weeks

- 14.11- reduced by 9%, 22.11- reduced by 10% = 2.25mg long holding

- 06.04.2017- REDUCED by 2% since the last dose = 2.2mg

-20.12. 2016- changed my diet and supplements protocol; Ionic Liquid Iron twice 100ml, Liquid Zynk- twice- 50ml, MegaMag Liquid- evening 100ml, Curcumin 600mg x 3 a day Burdock Root + Epsom Baths. Changed diet to Protein one + Veg; Avoiding carbs. Protein Shake (Pure Power Protein Powder by Mercola) + Supergreens + Coconut Oils, Himalayan Salt with lemon

When I've had tinnitus these are the times I get it too, though mine presented differently.  I recall that turning over in bed would set it off, and lying still made it a bit better.

2010 May Fluoxetine 20mg. Raging mostly stops, become more functional.
2011 February Escitalopram 10mg (sudden switch). 2012 January Escitalopram 20mg.  2013 Early June Feeling great, decide to taper. Doc advises alternate days 20mg/10mg for 4 weeks.  Late June Steady. Drop to 10mg daily. Early July Not coping, raging, flu symptoms, shaky, anxious, low, spaced-out, self-destructive.  Mid July Return to alternate days 20mg/10mg - minimal improvement. Early August Return to full dose 20mg. Lost.
2014 February Switch to Venlafaxine. (First reduced Esc. to 10mg/day for a week) Feb-April Lost, 'light' self-harm, exhausted.
April Increase Ven. to 150mg/day. Dizzy. July 75mg twice a day to improve dizziness. Deep depression remains.  2015 Feb Vigilant dose spacing partially eases dizziness. Mar Switch to Effexor 75mg 2x/day. May Cut 10% to 135mg - bad w/d 2 mths, held 1 mth.  Aug 1.3% cut - bad 1mth, held 1mth. Oct 4 wkly 0.4% cuts held 6 weeks. Jan 2016 2 wkly 0.4% cuts. 8 month hold. Sept Wkly cuts: 0.5%, 3 1% cuts.  Oct 4 wkly 1% cuts, hold 3-4 weeks.
Supplements: Fish oil, vitamins E & C, magnesium, iron, MSM, oat-straw tea, nettle tea.  My story of healing: ContinuedHealing

These last couple of weeks the ringing in my ears or tinitus or whatever it is, has gotten very intense, and the last week i almost feel like i can here birdsinging all the time, and it is making me crazy. Will this maybe fade soon, I hope the tinitus is better in a couple of days, because it was so intense today that i couldn't watch tv, I panicked because i thought i could hear birdsinging in the program i saw, and i need that to distract myself. I dont know what to do, this is so hard! Please help

2010: 150 mg Sertraline, 50 mg Mirtzapine. I tried to quit cold turkey 28 Nov. 2014 but that was simply the worst thing i have ever experienced in my entire life! Tappered into the meds again, and started tappering out again aug. 2015. I quit Mirtzapine 28 Nov. 2015 and Sertraline 4 jan. 2016 (6 months  drugfree) Feeling a lot better. 14 months off. Hit a bad wave 25/12/16 and can't function at the moment and isolate and having many symtoms.

I have found white noise cd helpful in times...

when you get "pre-occupied" with it (I tend to do) it becomes worse...I try o minimise this, tell myself that it will pass; any additional emotions make it worse for me...

I have a type of pulsating tinnitus in one ear. It is as if magnified heart beat that I hear in my ear. Irritating in times. Don't know if I should investigate it further or treat ad WD? I have had it for over half a year...
Has anybody have symptom like this? What could be an explanation?

I'm just wondering if any of you suffer with ear congestion/ pressure as well? I have for a year now. It came on two weeks after stopping celexa.

I just read a lot of articles about how common tinnitus is with ssris. Just a tip that I'm sure most of you know, but white noise really helps.

Also this is worth a try.

One of my withdrawal symptoms when I have dropped too much is ear pressure and sometimes I have had pain with it.  A couple of times it was so bad that I updosed.  On a couple of other occasions I was able to put up with it and didn't updose and it improved.

At one time my tinnitus was really bad and was driving me nuts but I have found that as my dose has got lower it is barely there and hardly bothers me now.

Mine is still going strong after 14 months.

That oh so lovely high pitched tone that can suddenly drop in pitch or intensity.

<p>Feb 2014 -Cipralex/Escitalopram 10mg daily June 2015 - Started taper, 5mg every other day July 2015 - 5mg every 2 days August 2015 - 5mg every 3 days September 2015 - 5mg every 4 days Sept 14th - Completed tapering, but at 7 weeks "drug free" I suffered serious WD symptoms as a consequence of "incorrect" tapering. Nov 25 2015 - Re-instated Cipralex @ 2.5mg daily. WD symptoms disappeared over a few days. Have been on this dose ever since and am experiencing "windows" and "waves". Nov 15th 2016 Re-started Therapy Jan 19th 2017 Started CBT. Jan 2017 Homeopathic Treatment starts 4th Jan 2017. Mar 2017 Naturopathic Treatment starts - anti-Candida diet starts as diagnosis of Candida Related Complex (CRC). 24 March 2017 DETOX (3 weeks) started for anti-Candida to help "re-set" my gut. April 2017 "Genova Testing 3 day stool sampling" Comprehensive Analysis.  Gut Cleanse - 6 weeks.  Plan to re-start taper (liquid Cipralex/Escitalopram) when feel ready.

I have head noise and tinnitus. The tinnitus comes and goes and mostly notice at night, but the head noise (hard to describe other than that) has been a pretty much constant companion throughout WD. Interestingly enough, it has really lessened in the last couple of weeks, almost imperceptible. I wake up in the morning and my head (brain) is quiet. First time in 16 months.

Celexa 10 mg (5years), 5mg (10 years). Prescribed for anxiety and panic. Started tapering July 2015-2.5 mg for a month, then 2.5 every other day. Kept tapering until October when I took my last crumb. 10 months drug free and WD symptoms are evolving constantly.

I have head noises (seeing some improvement) and myoclonus of the stapedial muscle in the left ear.  Had it really bad after klonopin wd, and went away eventually.  Restarted after several rapid tapers/ct's.

Have about 10 episodes a day, sometimes it is painful and disorienting - feels like a hard slap inside the head; many times it is faint only.  Yesterday had a 5-min continuous episode and ear was smarting after :( .  I hope it goes away, only then can I resume my taper.

Klonopin: June 2014 - Sept 2015; 1mg tapered over 6 mths, withdrawal hellish

Naturethroid: 65 mcg

Seroquel:  June 14 - July 24, 25 mg alternate nights; July 25-30, 12mg most nights; Sept 1-12, no more than 10 mg for 7 nights. D/C Sept 12.  Severe wd., Dec 7  reinstate 2 mg, Dec 15 updosed to 5mg (not 10 mg as in post dated 12/12)

Trazodone: Oct 2015 - June 2016; 75 mg tapered over 2 mths, intense w/d Sx after 3 weeks. Reinstatement: 07/25/16 25 mg; 08/03/16 50mg;  10/01/16 62mg. 03/24/17 Began taper due to serotonin toxicity: 52mg

Mirtazepine: Nov 14 -17,2016 2.5mg; Nov 18-26 1.5mg to fight sedation; Nov 27-Dec 3  2.0 mg, Dec 4 updosed to 2.5, Dec 12 down to 2 mg again because of suspected serotonin syndrome (false alarm), upped again to 2.4 mg Dec 19 since withdrawal was fiercer than ever. Revised: 03/24/17 Serotonin toxicity NOT false alarm after all!

Supplements: Fish oil and multivitamin

Synopsis:   Psych meds as of 12/19/2016 - Seroquel 5mg; Mirtazepine 2.4mg, Trazodone 62.5mg

03/24/17:  Began tapering traz - 52mg;  intense wd sxs by week 5

I have this as well.
And like of most of others is mostly in my left ear.
Some thoughts on it :

-since it comes and goes away, and changes intensity, shouldn't it be related to chemical changes in the brain, instead of structural damage of it?

-it's mostly on one side (left). We should investigate what's the morphological/chemical difference between the two sides

What do you think guys?

My tinnitus has become much worse since colonoscopy. I am unsure why. Maybe because of sedation. Also stress, anxiety. Possibly low iron, anemia...
I used to have only pulsstille tinnitus in one ear, now I have this high pitch sound, kind of in the middle of head. Always when it is quieter...
Trying to ignore it, which is not easy

I`ve had persistent tinnitus since 18th February after commig off of Buspirone completely. Like most of other people here I have it in my left ear. I had four good days when it was completely silent but after going swimming two weeks ago everything got worse and I can hear it all day long. I joined Tinnitus Sufferers group on FB with more than 14 thousand members. Some people there have T for years after going off of ADs. From what I have learned there`s a high probability T will never go away once it`s activated.

it has been on increase with me...hissing has been moreless continuous...
