Peace, picklet and Shanti. When possible, people should consult knowledgeable practitioners. But we have to be realistic -- people can get homeopathic remedies in natural food stores and there are a lot of do-it-yourselfers out there. So online discussions of homeopathy are valuable. Since it's difficult to determine which remedy is appropriate and it's hard to know if one is working when you DIY, some people will prefer to see a homeopath rather than wasting time and money conducting their own experiments. Personally, I think some people are so sensitive homeopathy does work for them. Others will be in the skeptics camp.

This morning I woke up with tinnitus. I took a bit of Calcarea Carbonica 30C and it was gone within 15 minutes. So I just wanted to add that to the list. I believe that taking the Homeopathy is an ongoing thing for this process. I don't think we just take it three days like a normal illness. I think it's so because of the ongoing changes to our brains during withdrawal. I find that I can go a few days without though, but then I feel a need to take more again.

I have been speaking to a homeopath and she says she would treat my problem with a potency made from the offending drug. Anyone heard of this/
Started Seroxat(Paxil) for panic attacks in 1997 stopped the drug in 2005 tapered over 3 months ( doctors advice)
Suffered severe and protracted withdrawl ever since.

Yes, I've heard a couple of people mention their Homeopaths wanted to make a remedy out of the anti-depressant. Personally, I don't see how it would work. It's not the drug causing the symptoms. If Paxil, when taken, caused these symptoms then I could see how it would work. But that's what's happening. What's happening is our brains reacting to NOT taking the drug. I don't see how it would make a good remedy. But then I may be wrong, idk. If it works I would love to hear about it. It won't hurt to try. As I said many times here, there is actually no toxin or drug in the pellets and it's safe.

Thank you Picklet for your info. I can't hate on homeopathy because arnica ointment has worked wonders for me and my family all our lives. I've even had it take away most of my pain in my hand while i was still rubbing the ointment on. I am a bit skeptical that maybe they put something else in there for it to have such a quick effect, seems unbelievable. My family has had some amazing healings with other homeopathy remedies too. But I wonder how it can work this way when the skeptics say there are no molecules of the effective chemical in the pills. Can you explain this to me, Picklet?

I agree here. The homeopath is not getting it that it's the absence of the drug that causes withdrawal. I definitely would NOT pursue that remedy, squirrel, especially since you've had symptoms for so long. The homeopath's reasoning is all wrong, and I can't see anything good coming out of bad reasoning even in alternative treatments.

alto, i think homeopathy works by giving a tiny amount of the chemical that caused the specific health problems problems. i heard that homeopathy is energy medicine, and is not traditional kind of medicine. it uses energy to restore body's energy which results in the body healing. this is why i think that it is not even necessary for the homeopathy pills to contain the actual molecules of the original chemical. this is why i think the person's homeopath here said that the water was infused with the essence of paxil. i think that water was so diluted that it didnt have the actual paxil molecules, but on the energy level it had something of a character of paxil. the person had a bad reaction to that water so i guess that remedy did not work, and maybe they should try another one. homeopathy works by giving chemicals that cause the same bad symptoms as the person is experiencing, but the dose is very very tiny. so this is why her homeopath gave her a tiny dose of paxil, because paxil was the one that gave her withdrawal. at least this is my understanding for now. maybe picklet could clarify things further if he/she would like.

I don't disagree with that, EW. If, for example, you're allergic to roses, you get a remedy based in some way on roses. But squirrel's symptoms aren't caused by Paxil, they're caused by withdrawal. The homeopathic remedy would somehow have to include essence of withdrawal.

Yes, it's the withdrawals that is causing the symptoms, so it's the brain and nervous system function. It's not that the Paxil itself is producing the symptoms. Homeopathy actually has no molecule left at all in the remedy. It is so diluted that there's simply nothing of it left. However, it doesn't work on the level of physics, it works on quantum physics. Quantum physics is about the behavior of molecules. I think a person would have to have an understanding of how quantum physics works to know what I'm saying. Molecules will behave and do certain things, simply by observation. A molecule may do one thing, but if I'm looking at it, it would do something else entirely. My thought energy focusing on the molecule effects its behavior. That's the basis of Quantum Physics. So to apply this to Homeopathy, the molecules from the toxin is with the water, it changes the behavior of the water, the molecules of the water change. It's still only water, but it's behavior is now different. After being in contact with the toxin, it now has an imprint from that toxin. That imprint in the water from the toxin, is Homeopathy remedy. That's the best I can explain it not being a Quantum Physicist. lol Since the Paxil toxin does not produce the symptoms we are experiencing, then it won't imprint in water the right impression for our symptoms. Because it's not Paxil doing it. It's our brains reaction to withdrawing. So in my mind, it makes better sense to find the remedies that have the same symptoms that we are having, and that's the remedy that will work. Stramonium, if taken in full dose, will cause symptoms very similar to what we experience in withdrawal. That's why Stramonium works the best with me. I doubt Picklet is coming back. She did what she came here to do. js.

Ah, here we go :) I just want to say that I was very good friends with a Homeopath for alot of years, and never once have I heard that it was dangerous and that you can't take it for more than 3 days. I see nothing in this thread to show me any validity in this. I scoured the internet for 3 hours trying to back that up and couldn't find anything. I posted on here links to verify, that YES, you can take Homeopathy for extended periods. And NO, it is not at all dangerous.

Quantum Homeopathy
By Amit Goswami

From a quantum view, how homeopathy works is, first of all we have to recognize the vital level of our being – the vital energy body. This is where mainly quantum physics comes in.

How does the vital body interact with the material body? The physical cannot interact with nonphysical. Now quantum physics solves it because in quantum physics both the vital and the physical are possibilities of consciousness. And so consciousness can mediate the interaction by choosing the same instant, the same moment, a vital energy actual event of experience, which manifests as a feeling, along with the physical which experiences as sensing. The two are correlated with each other. So the physical corresponds to the vital; physical is a representation of the vital.

So once we get through that hurdle, then of course it is like Hahnemann originally interpreted: that what happens is that we eliminate, in the process of the making of the dilution, we eliminate gradually the poisonous material part of it.

But the vital part is picked up through the sucussion – the stirring and shaking – the vital part is picked up by the water alcohol mixture. So the water retains the vital memory of the original medicinal substance and that’s the major question of homeopathy – how does one get healing without even one molecule of the material substance present?

Because the stronger the dilution the stronger the medicinal effect; the less is the presence of the physical molecule affecting the work of the vital. In other words, the places where homeopathy is most active are those cases where the problem is with the vital energy block. And so the cure has to happen at the vital level. And then the material level, anything you give at the material level will only mess it up. That’s why some homeopaths, although this is very relaxed today because of commercialism, but some homeopaths will still not let you take any allopathic medicine during your homeopathic treatment. And that is why. Because any interference with the physical part is only going to mess up the application of the vital and fixing up the vital energy blocks.

Of course there are specifically physical diseases. Like if you have an infection by a bacteria, then it is best to kill off the bacteria at the physical level.

Just remember, there is no molecules left of the opium. It's all an energy imprint. It's like having a Reiki treatment. Energy healing. I posted earlier in this thread a link to some vids of people all over downing full bottles of these remedies to prove they are harmless.

shanti, i think there might be some molecules of the opiate left in the remedy if it is a high concentration like X or 3X or something. so maybe squirrel should ask the homeopath what is the potency of the remedy. my homeopath so far has used only those traditional kinds of remedies. i guess the treatments vary from homeopath to homeopath.

That's a good point Earthworm. Even at 6 it's not likely to have a molecule left. In Homeopathy, less is more. The number is how many times it's been diluted. So diluted 6 times would have a more likely chance of having a molecule where as 30 wouldn't. I'm comfortable at 30C. They say the higher numbers are more potent. Like the further removed from the toxin, the more potent the effect of the Homeopathy. It's an interesting concept that sounds backwards lol. But it works so I guess there's just alot to it science can't explain yet.

Last couple of days I've had serious restless leg syndrome. I tried Arsenicum Album and it worked like a charm. I wonder if it would then work for Akathisia. I wouldn't know because I haven't had akathisia since my first big drop from 40 to 20 mg. and the time I went off Cymbalta. But the two things seem to be related, restless leg and akathisia. If anyone has it and tries the Arsenicum, lemme know k? then I can add it on my website.

Shanti: Read your info about homeopathy. Would you know what would be the best preparation for nausea. I've seen atinmonium tartaricum 30c listed elsewhere and I see your recommendation for arsenicum album 30 c. My brother swears by homeopathy after using a preparation for headaches that worked immediately. Thanks. :)
I started withdrawing off remeron in August of 2009, with the help of a holistic physician. The reason for the withdrawal was a year or two of off and on nausea, deterioration in my thinking, and more depression. It took me a full year to work from 135 mg down to 45mg. At that point, more drops were causing more depression. Unfortuately, the nervousness that I was also feeling for the last year continued with the 45 mg. Thirty one days ago, I stopped the remeron. I am still feeling the nervousness every day and the last week, I am feeling what I think is depression but not sure. In bed in the morning, I'm already dreading another day feeling this way. I am intensely unsure of myself and find it very hard to do anything. I was a practicing veterinarian for 29 years until I found I could not practice anymore. First of all I couldn't think, or remember, and I had absolutely no confidence in anything I did. These were things I did with relative ease for twenty+ years. So, this feeling of no confidence has been during the time I was on the AD(the last 2 years) and today. I take no other medication other than my blood pressure meds. I tried supplements with my holistic dr. but they seemed to make the intense nervousness even more intense. Anyway, I truly feel stuck.

I just ordered some Antimonium Crudum 30C to see how it works for my nausea. Up until now, I've been taking Phenergan and Zofran from the doc. She said I can't take Zofran every day. I quit the Phenergan because it has side effects. So for right now, I'm taking Ginger and waiting for the Antimonium in the mail. I'll let you know if it works for me. I too have excellent results from Homeopathy. I was so happy when I took that first dose of Stramonium and how I could literally feel it calm my nerves within minutes. I'm obviously a firm believer in this too lol

Did anyone ever have a bad reaction to homeopathy? My aunt and her circle of homeopaths have recommended Nux vomica C200 to use for my symptoms. I have never had a bad experience with globuli, but I am a bit afraid of taking it.

End of 2008: Remeron 15mg for around 2 months. Unorthodox taper, no problems.
End of August 2009: Lexapro 10mg for only 4 days. Panic attack after 3 pills. Severe gastro problems in the morning for 3 days after last pill. 2 weeks later strong w/d symptoms set in.

Acute WD lasted around 3.5 years. I am feeling much better today, 5.5 years out, but still have some symptoms left.

Obviously, I'm not having any bad experience with it. But I just wanted to say that I have Nux Vomica 200C as well and take it with no problem.

I tried it for nausea and it helped. To be honest, I don't remember why I ordered it. I kept a list of what I was ordering and for what symptoms on a sticky note on my puter, then the other day I accidentally closed it. So this Nux Vom comes in the mail and I'm trying to figure out what I ordered it for. It says on the bottle "Vomiting" so I used it for nausea and it did work. But I know I must have ordered it for something else, cause I ordered Animon for nausea. I'll have to go over the uses at ABC Homeopathy and figure out what I've done.

Here at abchomeopathy it lists what it can be used for. Looks like a good one for a lot of mental and emotional issues.

My aunt told me that it often is used for people who had problems with drugs, as far as I can remember. Well, I am going to test it.

I'm going to try my hand at making my own Homeopathy remedy out of Vicodin, cause I have side effects from it. I got directions off the internet and I think it'll be neat to make my own.

I've had some days that it doesn't seem the Homeopathy doesn't work. But now I think I know why. I was taking Peppermint Tums and sometimes eating chocolate. I read that you can't have mint of any kind and caffeine, even in chocolate, will destroy the remedy as well.

I just wanted to tell my story of what REALLY got me to be a firm believer in Homeopathy. About 10 years ago when I was about 33, I quit smoking. I had smoked 2 packs a day for 20 years. I used Bach's Rescue remedy to help me quit. I was successful and proud of myself, and glad I would avoid future lung problems. But then I had a bad reaction to quitting. My lungs and sinuses went into overkill with the fluids in healing the linings. I went to the doc and she told me that I had emphysema. I was devastated. Here I'd just quit, and I was so young. My Homeopath friend got me to try a bunch of remedies. I did them all, and it totally cleared up all the fluid so I wasn't suffering. I went to the doctor a few months later and she was shocked. She said my lungs looked like I had never smoked a day in my life. Emphysema is supposed to be irreparable damage. But I healed it with Homeopathy.

This is great for if you need to take a medication that causes side effects. Today, I took another Baclofen and I had side effects. I got VERY shaky and felt weird. I went ahead and tried making my own remedy out of the Baclofen and it worked right away. The shakes just totally disappeared. Here's a link to instructions if anyone needs to try this. It's very easy. How To Make A Remedy.

If you try any, try the Stramonium. It's labeled for children. IT IS SAFE. Stramonium is the most important to me because it helps tremendously with the emotional trauma in withdrawals. All the other remedies I listed are more for the physical. While I still have some flare ups and not 100% healed, I am doing so much better. It's now manageable to me.
