Alto - thanks for contributing !

You are a lifesaver.

I have been on 100 mg of Pristiq for a few years and am simply trying to get to 50 mg.

I have read & re-read multiple citations (on this site) and remain confused.

Can you -or- Can't you cut the Pristiq tablets, in order to taper?

Welcome, shady1. I made your post your Introduction -- you deserve a topic of your own.

Yes, you can cut up Pristiq tablets, or crush them into a powder to weigh. See Tips for tapering off Pristiq (desvenlafaxine)

I hope this helps answer some of your questions.

Hi Shady. Welcome to the forum. I haven't had experience with Pristiq. Mine was Paxil. I'm glad you found your way here. Very helpful people are here :)

Taper from Cymbalta, Paxil, Prozac & Antipsychotics finished June 2012.

Xanax 5% Taper - (8/12 - .5 mg) - (9/12 - .45) - (10/12 - .43) - (11/12 - .41) - (12/12 - .38)

Also my pdoc told me its totally fine to cut the tablets.
