Welcome, zarema!

Your English is excellent! No apology needed!

Alternating days and doses seems to be the latest "trend" with doctors. But a very unfortunate one - it just causes problems for people.

Do NOT stop taking the med! You've been doing very well until the alternating days, but you'll be better off if you do smaller drops in the future.

But don't drop your dose yet. I suggest you go back to taking 12.5 every day and do that until you feel better. Then we can help you determine the best drops in dose at the lower dose levels you've reached. But take 12.5 every day now.

I was "TryingToGetWell" (aka TTGW) on paxilprogress. I also was one of the original members here on Surviving Antidepressants

I had horrific and protracted withdrawal from paxil, but now am back to enjoying life with enthusiasm to the max, some residual physical symptoms continued but largely improve. The horror, severe derealization, anhedonia, akathisia, and so much more, are long over.

My signature is a temporary scribble from year 2013. I'll rewrite it when I can.

Welcome, zarema.

Brandy's advice is good, take 12.5mg every day. You may wish to do this for a few weeks, to allow your nervous system to calm.

Can you get Zoloft liquid? That can help you make regular small decreases to taper off properly. We suggest a 10% reduction per month. If you don't get any withdrawal symptoms after 2 months, you can make reductions faster.

Hey zarema27, Don't stop taking it!! i tapered too quickly off that last 12.5 mg of zoloft and am suffering 6 months later for that decision. You'll be fine if you stay on that 12.5 every day for a couple of months and let your body adjust. If you can't get liquid please still come off that last 12.5mg really really really slowly by cutting it up and taking the same amount every day. Well done on making it down to this low dose x

Had taken sertraline and Prozac for approx 6 weeks each in 2001 and 2006. Stopped c/t both times no prob. October 2011 started sertraline again. December 2011 started getting weird symptoms (stomach ache and numb limbs in my sleep) so decided I wanted off the 50mg sertraline. Cut in half in december and reduced to 25mg. Knew I was in trouble as went into withdrawals. Managed to stabilise quickly though and thought I could quickly come off 25mg. Stopped the 25mg in march 2012. Went into withdrawal and experiencing for almost 3 years now.

All great advice... don't be afraid to go really, really slow. Your brain will thank you for it later!

The first time I quit I did about a 6 month taper and it was way too fast. In the end, I had almost the same issues as when I quit "cold turkey" (suddenly). Sometimes the issues don't show up for months after you quit.

'94-'08 On/off ADs. Mostly Zoloft & Wellbutrin, but also Prozac, Celexa, Effexor, etc.
6/08 quit Z & W after tapering, awful anxiety 3 mos. later, reinstated.
11/10 CTed. Severe anxiety 3 mos. later & @ 8 mos. much worse (set off by metronidazole). Anxiety, depression, anhedonia, DP, DR, dizziness, severe insomnia, high serum AM cortisol, flu-like feelings, muscle discomfort.
9/11-9/12 Waves and windows of recovery.
10/12 Awful relapse, DP/DR. Hydrocortisone?
11/12 Improved fairly quickly even though relapse was one of worst waves ever.

1/13 Best I've ever felt.

3/13 A bit of a relapse... then faster and shorter waves and windows.

4/14 Have to watch out for triggers, but feel completely normal about 80% of the time.
