Purplestars22--  I'm glad you're so impressed as to want to share it, please feel free.  I think the personal changes we all have to go through are very important and need discussed.  Even though it is personal growth talking things through helps to clarify and cement things in ones mind and each discussion makes you look at something from just a little different angle and reevaluate the interactions in a different light.  Like WD it helps to know that you're not on the journey alone.

Hope your reinstatement is going well.

20 years on Paxil starting at 20mg and working up to 40mg. Sept 2011 started 10% every 6 weeks taper (2.5% every week for 4 weeks then hold for 2 additional weeks), currently at 7.9mg. Oct 2011 CTed 15oz vodka a night, to only drinking 2 beers most nights, totally sober Feb 2013.

Since I wrote this I have continued to decrease my dose by 10% every 6 weeks (2.5% every week for 4 weeks and then hold for an additional 2 weeks). I added in an extra 6 week hold when I hit 10mg to let things settle out even more. When I hit 3mgpw it became hard to split the drop into 4 parts so I switched to dropping 1mgpw (pill weight) every week for 3 weeks and then holding for another 3 weeks.  The 3 + 3 schedule turned out to be too harsh so I cut back to dropping 1mgpw every 4 weeks which is working better.

Final Dose 0.016mg.     Current dose 0.000mg 04-15-2017

Hit mile marker 2 today.  Started my next slide by cutting to 2 mg. I'll stay here for a few weeks and then slide to 1.9 for my hold.  I can't believe that this is  finally happening, as I have had my eye on this level for some time now.  Things have been all over the place lately, not to the extremes, but noticeably up and down, with a bias to the upside. I did have some pretty loud tinnitus last night, loudest in a long time.  It has quieted down to normal levels this morning.  Also had the "creepy crawlies" over the weekend, kind a like twitches but milder and over much larger areas, like my whole chest.  Very disconcerting.  I am still getting the twitches along with it.  Scared Monica pretty badly Friday night, we were cuddled up and just drifting off to sleep when I gave a huge jerk and startled the both of us.  Been having rather disturbing dreams too, not too clear and vivid, luckily, but enough to leave me upset when I wake up right after them.  I'll be interested to see what this slide does to things.

Congrats on your drop!  You have come so very far!!  At what point do you think you will drop off?  Some people have posted that they have to slow down at this point a bit so I know you are already well aware of this.  Congrats again.  I remember when you first started posting at "prior place" and now look at you.  You are so inspirational!

Thanks Mustangwoman.  I still have a ways to go.  Current thinking is to jump somewhere under 1mg, maybe about .5mg.  That will be some where around next fall making it a full four years to taper.  I'm not going to rush because like you mentioned I need to slow down a bit now and pay closer attention.  These low numbers are really touchy.  Looks like you're making some steady progress, hope all is going well.

Well the WDs are having a lot of fun playing with my head today.  I'll be feeling fine, then all of a sudden dizzy, nauseous, shaky.  then a few minutes later back to fine.  Brain fog is up today too and it seems that I have to work to keep my eyes focused. That could be having to switch glasses constantly all day, its caused problems in the past.  Right now I just want to go to sleep, but there is still an hour of work and a trip to the dentist before dinner.  Luckily the bosses are really pleased with a project I did yesterday so I have been getting kudos all day, which has been nice.  Short break today, have to get things done before leaving early to get my jaw broken.

Just a term of speech MW.  Dentists are sometimes referred to as jawbreakers.  I was just getting a crown fitted, again, and he did manage to break it, the crown, again.  So we are back to square one on that front.  He fired his lab  that makes the crowns and we will use a new one.  I was rather miffed about it and expressed my displeasure, politely I may add, and will be getting free whitening treatments for my troubles and missed work.  I will say that the dentist had been really good about the whole thing and I told him I understood that the problem has been with the lab and not his treatment.  This has been dragging on since before  Christmas so I am getting tired of the whole thing.  It did lead to my buying a package of brownies for stress eating, which I am enjoying very much.

On the WD front things settled down for the evening, except for the twitches.  By the time I was ready for bed my legs were jumping al over the place.  I have noticed that it is only when I have been sitting in my recliner for a couple of hours that it starts, and it doesn't continue once I get to bed.  I'm starting to think that the recliner is putting pressure on some muscle group or nerve and that is causing the twitching.

Brassmonkey, I decided that when I do tapering I will do it with your method, 2,5 every week for four weeks and then two without tapering, I find it very wise

I've really gotten up in my head the last several days and it is no fun at all.  Starts with a mild intrusive thought and then just snowballs out of control.  The suppressed anger is just crazy and every little thought just keeps on building it.  It lasted a couple of hours yesterday afternoon.  Once I was able to hide in the car for the drive home I did some tried and true relaxation  techniques and was able to break out of the cycle before I got home, and was able to spend a pleasant evening.  Then it started up again this morning just after I got up.  Didn't get as nasty because I jumped on it a lot quicker, but still lasted almost two hours.  The rest of the day has been pretty good.  Been very busy playing catchup on a project my boss changed in mid stream, but as long as I ignore his imaginary deadlines it has been kinda fun.  Just got word that I won't have to fill in running a friends seminar this weekend, as he will be able to make it after all.  He'll be in a pretty frazzed state so I will lend a hand anyway, but won't have to lead.

It's the one place that the distraction of work doesn't help.  In fact I get some of the worst ones at work, but they are rarely about work.  Having a beautiful spring day here and I get to stay inside and work on taxes.  So far it is going more easily than last year, which isn't saying much.  I'm am going to try and take a lot of short breaks to get outside so that should help a bit.  Monica scared the c*** out of me last night.  Woke me from a deep sleep by falling backward out of bed while trying to get in and hitting her head on the wall.  She's fine, but the whole situation was pretty upsetting.  Trying to decided if I want to make my next slide tomorrow.  Except for a ton of situational stuff I have been feeling fairly good for the past several days.  I'll see how it goes today.

Oh dear what a shock that must have been with Monica. Glad she is ok.

You are doing well on your taper. When do you plan to stop or will you see how it goes?

Was on Paxil from about 2001 to 2011. Then started a three year taper of 10% every 4 weeks. Went down to 5% drops between 7mg and 5mg as it got tough. Then back to 10% drops and few withdrawal effects below 5mg. At 2.8mg went to 2mg for 2 weeks with no side effects, then 1mg for 2 weeks with no side effects and then off. Last date was 29 December 2014. Reinstated 1mg on 13th march

I am so happy that you were able to use techniques to get away from that stuff in your head.  I wish I could.  I get so caught up in everything, it's hard to take that time out.  Very good of you to help your friend with the seminar.  It's good for you and motivating to us that you can take this on even while tapering.  :)

Thank you ladies for the well wishes for Monica.  She came through unscathed. In fact she didn't really remember that it had happened.  She has a love/hate relationship with Ambien. Some nights it knocks her right out, some nights she stays awake but doesn't remember it, and other nights it does nothing for her.  This ended up being one of the "don't remember it" type of nights.  Still we are going to look into modifying the bed or making a step or something to keep it from happening again.

The seminar went well, Mike ended up handling the whole thing with no problems so I just got to socialize the whole time.  Now Monica and I have a month to pull together the seminar we volunteered to cover for Mikes wife who won't be able to do it.  It's a long story about her cancer suddenly returning, when we got the news we said, go do what needs to be done we'll cover the other stuff.

I went ahead and started the next part of my slide so I am officially below 2mg now by dropping to 1.9mg.

2016: 0,98 to 0,22 mg; 2015: 2,35 to 1,01 mg; 2014: 4,9 to 2,5 mg; 2013: 9,1 to 5,1 mg; 2012: 15,7 to 9,7 mg; 2011: Started on 25 mg - then 50 mg- dropped to 25- to 12.5 mg - back to 25 mg - after 18.75 mg started tiny tapering to 16.6 mg

Started on 25 mg Zoloft in March 2011 due to stressrelated tinnitus that gave me panicattacks. Had a terrible reaction to Zoloft from start, but was told to "hold on". After four months I was stuck. Therefore the long taper. Crazy, I know... Super sensitive to drops and have dropped by 4-6 % from the previous dose.

What an accomplishment!

Congrats Tom!! I had a little difficulty in this area but not as bad as 2.3 but i went a little faster than you. Im at the point where the gemini scale dont register at all even with a 10 g. weight in it so mow at .14 i am just halving a .25 dose that will actually register an actual weight of 3 mg. How do you plan on doing the micro dosing??

Paxil start September 2003 due to Fluoroquinolone adverse reaction that I wish doc. knew what it was. 10mg. most of the time with a few short runs of 20mg. FAST tapered 3 times and finally hit poop out or a reaction to nsaid's in Nov.2013. Started a 10% taper Jan. 2014 and have been ok until Sept 14 and went through a short hell. Now plodding through and looking for the light with unrelenting insomnia and pain, fog, loss of interests....<p>12/20/14 - .8mg.

1/01/15 - .75 mg.

1/15/15 - .42 mg. better sleep now, hope it continues...

2/11-15 - .25 mg. doing really good!! 2 weeks feel 85% of old me!

3/17/15 .14 mg. Knee pain bad!

4/07/15 .05 mg. this is so small now that I am estimating and just licking it off palm small as a "."

4/13/15 NOTHING !!!! Took my last little micro dose on 4/12/15.

I am so chuffed about breaking under 2mg, thanks for the support everyone.  The plan ATM: so far my scale is weighing things pretty well as long as I am careful.  I am working with 40mg tablets that weigh 500mg each so for every 12mg pill weight I am getting 1mg of paxil.  This means that 1mg pill weight is .008mg paxil. So right now I am reducing 1mgpw for two weeks then another 1mgpw for four weeks.  I plan to do this down to about 1.3mg and then switch to 1mgpw every six weeks till I jump off at about .5-.3mg.  That's the plan, we will see what happens IRL.  If I have trouble measuring the powder then I will try making my own liquid.

They all crush into the same size powder Songbird, from there it is just a numbers game.  I considered trying to get smaller tablets but my doctor was so uncooperative about the taper I decided it wasn't worth the hassle.

Just very lazy MW, I don't want to be bothered with trying to change my system.

I was just talking to Alaskamom about handling flare ups of anger and came up with, what I think is a good analogy.  When You sense a red flag situation forming, from the thoughts you're having, the actions of others and the like, treat it as if you are catching fire.  There is a drill they teach kids about what to do if your cloths catch on fire which is summed up as "Stop, Drop and Roll".  This can be applied to red flag situations.  When you sense one starting; Stop what your doing. Drop all your thoughts and reactions and Roll on out of there.  It sums up how I have learned to handle these situations and really has helped my.

Just lovely, the night sweets are back.  They only lasted a couple of weeks last time so hopefully they won't be sticking around for long.  They aren't nearly as bad as they were in poopout, but still it's just gross, and uncomfortable.  Got a lot of big stuff out of the way last weekend (finished the taxes) so we will get to play most of this weekend.  Monica was really sick for our anniversary on Tuesday so if she is doing better we are planning on going out to celebrate 36 years of wedded bliss.  Which works out well because the present I ordered for her several weeks ago arrived a day late.  The weather has been rather chilly so the tomatoes are off to a slower start than I would like.  It has warmed up a bit the past few days so they are starting to take off.  Also the garlic and scallions are starting to pop up.

The night sweats only lasted a couple of days, thankfully.  Otherwise things are going pretty well for the second week of a drop.  I am finding myself thinking much more about other things and a lot less about surviving WD.  I noticed this with several of my friends back at Prior Place, as they got to the low 1s and prepared to jump off they started to loose interest and contact with the group.  I could see their position then, but I really understand it now.  Like many things in life this is an individual journey.  We start out alone, lost and confused.  As we travel we meet others along the way, share information, commiserate and help each other through the rough parts.  As we travel we explore, learn, adopt and discard many different things and in doing so move to a place of greater strength and independence then where we started.  No longer do we crave the support of others as we are much more steady on our feet as we navigate the difficult road.  It is necessary for the comrades of the difficult times and shared experiences to be left behind as we change our individual courses and continue on.

Got paged and had to stop in the middle of everything, I hate that when I'm on a roll.

I'm not saying that I am going anywhere, there is still a lot of road in front of me that I want and need to share with my fellow travelers.  It is just that I can see myself moving into a different phase and need to express it, to acknowledge the transformation.  In life, and this is a bid part of each of our lives, it is important to mark the milestones and the forks in the road as you pass them.  If not, they can be passed by with out notice and one is left wondering "How did I get here".

Well I will go back to my mountain top now.

Nice! You sound close to the place when they bump you over to success stories! well, you kind of have been a success story along the way. Thanks for the hugs you sent on my thread. And as an east coaster, watch out you don't fall off your high mountain horse and land on your pretty pregger plants (says she who stares out her windows at the 3+ feet of white piles...)

Brassmonkey, it's so nice to see you here.  A familiar name.  I remember you from PP.  Hope you're doing alright.

Kittygirl

In December 2008, I hit menopause and had a nervous breakdown. After 6 months, I couldn't take it anymore so in June of 2009 I saw a psychiatrist and was given 100 milligrams of Zoloft. Way too much. That Dr refused to get me off of some of it so I found another Dr. who I'm still with.  She got me down to 50 milligrams.  Pure concentrated hell!  Stayed on 50 milligrams for a few years.

October of 2013 - 44 milligrams.

January 1st 2014- 37 1/2 milligrams.

March 1st 2014 - 31 milligrams.

April 10 2014 - 25 milligrams.

Yes, my Dr. had me go too much too fast.  Almost a year later, I'm still in withdrawal hell and holding at 25 milligrams.

6 1/2 years in one corner of hell or another and still counting.

Hi Kitty-- nice to see another familiar name.  They say that about 300 of us made the change over, but I don't see us all that often.

Hi Amy-- I hope you're doing well. Boy, it looks like you're getting really close too, a couple of more drops and you'll be well under 2 also, way to go. I am still doing a slide of sorts in that I drop 1mgpw, wait two weeks drop another 1mgpw and hold there for four weeks.  That keeps it in the realm of 10% (a bit less actually) every six weeks.  So far it has worked pretty well.  I usually notice things on day 2 or 3 of the first drop, but they settle out before the second drop.  Then again a few days after the second drop I start feeling things, which have been taking a couple of weeks to settle out.  For the most part it has been intrusive thoughts, fatigue and leg twitches with some random pain brain fog and the like thrown in for good measure.  So far it has all been pretty manageable.

Hi Songbird-- Looks like you're doing great too.  I had an uptick in symptoms in the 3.5-2mg range, all the same old stuff, but the intensity increased which threw me a bit.  I really wasn't expecting it.  Once I hit 2 things settled out a lot.
