Whoopsie
For those living in Portland or area the following event is taking place on April 17/13 at 7PM to 9PM. It will be held at the First Unitarian Church, 1211 SW Main Street, Portland. More than half the film's subjects have successfully come off a variety of medications, including antipsychotics, mood stabilizers, antidepressants, and benzos, and several participants give trainings on the process. Here they tell how they did it and they provide a philosophy and framework for coming off. Screening will include a brief intro with Chaya Grossberg, who is in the film and will be followed by Q and A and discussion. Coming Off Psych Drugs: A Meeting of the Minds Director: Daniel Mackler Country: USA Year: 2013 Runtime: 75 minutes In June of 2012, twenty-three people came together to discuss the subject of coming off psychiatric drugs. We were psychiatric survivors, therapists, mental health consumers, family members, and activists, united by a passion for truth-telling. More than half of us had successfully come off psych drugs, including cocktails of antipsychotics and mood stabilizers. What resulted from our three-day gathering was an unforgettable meeting of the minds. At last I had this awakening thought "These drugs aren't doing me any good." I listened and at that point made the decision to taper off the last drug cocktail I was on of Celexa, Lamictal, Klonopin and Seroquel which I did in one year. (Shock and awe.) Drug free May 6/09. Administrator Altostrata Posted May 14, 2013 Administrator Share Posted May 14, 2013 Was anything mentioned in this film about the dangers of cold turkey? This is not medical advice.
