I'm in inverness, scotland
2000 - sertraline for job anxiety low confidence (17 years old) ..which turned the next 16 years into nightmare!

On/off sertraline severe withdrawals every time. 2014 - felt better as reduced dose of sertraline no more inner restlessness. Doctor rushed off again. Hit severe withdrawal. Lost the little I had in life. Couldn't get stable again on 12.5mg. Was switched to prozac. Had severe reaction to prozac..came off in November 2015 at 6mg as felt more confused and damaged on it..Even more withdrawal ..rage, depression, dyphoria, near constant suicidal ideation, self harm impulses, doom, concrete block in head, unable to do much of anything with this feeling in head..went back on 6mg of sertraline to see if would alleviate anything. It didn't..reduced from December to June 2016 came off at 2.5mg sertraline as was hospitalised for the severe rage, suicidal impulses, and put on 50mg lofepramine which in 2nd week reduced all symptoms but gave insomnia which still have..psych stopped lofepramine cold turkey..no increased withdrawal symptoms new symptoms from lofepramine except persistant insomnia which has as side effect.

Taking Ativan for 8 months for the severe rage self harm impulses 1-3 times a week (mostly 2 times a week) at .5mg. Two months (I'm unsure exactly when the interdose started to happen) ago interdose withdrawal seemed to happen..2 days I think after the Ativan.

Nightmare that could have been avoided!

Hi, I would love to have a support group to go to.  Somewhere where people understand about antidepressant withdrawal.  Any chance of meeting up and getting our own group going.  I live in Essex.  I have only found one group for Benzos in Manchester.  I take Efexor XL.

2012 - about 7 various antidepressants, didn't suit.  Dec 2012 - 225mg venlafaxine.  2013 dropped to 150mg stayed for a year at this mg

2014 - 112.5mg venlafaxine.  2014 75mg venlafaxine.  2015 37.5mg venlafaxine for couple of weeks.  Back up to 75mg as agitated, and sobbing uncontrolably.  Back down to 37.5mg as 75mg too much.  Summer 2015 started cutting down by 2? every 2 weeks and added 50mg clomipramine as advised by gp to brdige venlafaxine.  8th Feb 2016 was down to 1.42 on scales then got panics on waking and crying and panics and overbreathing at lunchtime.  No cuts since then until now but on 17th March lost voice and terrible cough which still have on 30th March.  26th March upped to 1.44 for 4 days then back to 1.42 as felt down hard work with all the panicking and didn't want to go through that again.  Have had 17 CUTS of 2 % since summer 2015. Still on 50mg clomipramine as well.

Would be great if we could get something going wouldn't it.

Poppy

"Organising to educate health professionals". Can you let me know how that would work. What you had in mind for this? Thank you very much.

I was looking through the list of doctors and found this, a doctor who is prepared to persuade her employers to create a discontinuation clinic if there are enough people.

"" I don't currently see adult patients, but I could do and it may be possible to persuade my employers to run a discontinuation clinic under my supervision if there was sufficient demand. Best wishes,

Sami""

**I am not a medical professional, if in doubt please consult a doctor with withdrawal knowledge.

See how to create a signature here http://survivingantidepressants.org/index.php?/topic/12364-please-put-your-withdrawal-history-in-your-signature/

Many drugs for many years, prescribed diazepam first 1973, took occasionally. 3 or 4 tricyclics  for short periods.

1993 had a breakdown leading to 10 years of drug experiments with all classes of psych drugs.

2002  effexor.

Tapered by counting beads from March 2012 to March 2013, ending with 5 beads.

Withdrawal April 2013 . Reinstated 5 beads reduced to 4 beads May 2013

Restarted taper  Nov 2013

OFF EFFEXOR Feb 2015    :D

Also tapered atenolol and omeprazole Dec 2013 - May 2014

Tapering tramadol, Feb 2015 100mg , March 2015 50mg -hold- Feb2016 46mg  March 8 2016 45 April 44mg  May 11  43mg June 14 42mg

Taking fish oil, magnesium, pro biotic.

My story http://survivinganti...king-in/page-33

Lesson learned, slow down taper at lower doses. Taper no more than 10% of CURRENT dose if possible

Hi Tilly / MammaP,

I'm close to you as I'm on the Nottingham border of Lincolnshire.

The doctor that MammaP recommends in Lincoln is of interest to me too.

I would very much like to contact him as I want to set up a support group in Lincolnshire/Nottinghamshire area and I am doing some work for a mental health org in the area.

Could you PM me his contact MammaP?

Also Tilly, you might be interested in this organisation www.makingwaves.org who are based in Nottingham.  I'm meeting them in a few weeks, but found them supportive of change and well informed.

Hi Dan,

I'm gathering people together who have struggled with escitalopram / citalopram and putting together withdrawal stories for David Healy.

Would you be interested in sending me your experiences?

The symptoms which are of most interest are in the following groupings:

a) Paraesthesia - tingling, burning, numbness, pain

B) Cardiac disturbances - dizziness, syncope, irregular heartbeat, slow or quick pulse

c) Sensory disturbances - to sense of sight, hearing, touch, taste etc.

If you PM me I will give you an email address.

I'm in Lincolnshire btw.

I'm in Stoke-on-Trent (West Midlands) and am interested  :)

CT at 10mg. After 3 months RI at 5mg.

Taper at 10% per month down to 1mg. Taper the last milligram a little too quickly.

After ceasing meds, hit WD.

Currently 2 months 3 weeks drug free.

Hit protracted withdrawal 3.5 months after coming off Paxil (after 17 years use). I tried to reinstate just 0.5mg of Paxil but my body would no longer accept it. Tried a number of different drugs during a hospital spell. I eventually found one that eased my symptoms a bit. Currently, 10 months (15/05/16) off Paxil in the middle of a bad wave. I'm taking 150mg Clomipramine.
