MacavityCat
Good to see some (very) distant light in the dark tunnel. I think in this article is one more good information: That Dutch PSSD community made Dutch drug regulator aware of thist problem http://wp.rxisk.org/wp-content/uploads/2014/07/Lareb-KWB_2012_3_SSRI.pdf (information from link added by JamesB) That is one government that is aware of this problem, 200 countries to go. february 2010 - september 2013 - 40mg of fluoxetine Trying to be like motto of my city Semper Invicta

Member cymbaltawithdrawal5600 Posted November 26, 2014 Member Share Posted November 26, 2014 A mod will probably move this post. Just looking at the 'tag' it seems as though you already started a topic on this in February of this year. Always helps to do a search for existing topics before posting. Hope you are doing well! What happened and how I arrived here: http://survivingantidepressants.org/index.php?/topic/4243-cymbaltawithdrawal5600-introduction/#entry50878 July 2016 I have decided to leave my story here at SA unfinished. I have left my contact information in my profile for anyone who wishes to talk to me. I have a posting history spanning nearly 4 years and 3000+ posts all over the site. Thank you to all who participated in my recovery. I'll miss talking to you but know that I'll be cheering you on from the sidelines, suffering and rejoicing with you in spirit, as you go on in your journey. Moderator Emeritus Petunia Posted November 28, 2014 Moderator Emeritus Share Posted November 28, 2014 Thanks CW, yes, topics merged. I'm not a doctor. My comments are not medical advise. These are my opinions based on my own experience and what I've learned. Please discuss your situation with a medical practitioner who has knowledge of tapering and withdrawal...if you are lucky enough to find one. My Introduction Thread Full Drug and Withdrawal History Brief Summary Several SSRIs for 13 years starting 1997 (for mild to moderate partly situational anxiety) Xanax PRN ~ Various other drugs over the years for side effects 2 month 'taper' off Lexapro 2010 Short acute withdrawal, followed by 2 -3 months of improvement then delayed protracted withdrawal DX ADHD followed by several years of stimulants and other drugs trying to manage increasing symptoms Failed reinstatement of Lexapro and trial of Prozac (became suicidal) May 2013 Found SA, learned about withdrawal, stopped taking drugs...healing begins. Protracted withdrawal, with a very sensitized nervous system, slowly recovering as time passes Supplements which have helped: Vitamin C, Magnesium, Taurine Bad reactions: Many supplements but mostly fish oil and Vitamin D June 2016 - Started daily juicing, mostly vegetables and lots of greens. Aug 2016 - Oct 2016 Best window ever, felt almost completely recovered Oct 2016 -Symptoms returned - bad days and less bad days. April 2018 - No windows, but significant improvement, it feels like permanent full recovery is close. VIDEO: Where did the chemical imbalance theory come from? Administrator Altostrata Posted February 12, 2015 Administrator Share Posted February 12, 2015 Also see Recovering from PSSD http://wp.rxisk.org/recovering-from-pssd/ Altostrata says July 22, 2014 at 8:46 pm On SurvivingAntidepressants.org, we have a number of people who have recovered from PSSD. My belief is that just as most people recover from antidepressant withdrawal syndrome within a few months to a few years, they recover from PSSD. PSSD is a component of the autonomic dysruption caused by antidepressant use and withdrawal, as are the symptoms of withdrawal syndrome. I myself have recovered from PSSD. After coming off Paxil in October 2004, among other withdrawal symptoms I had the absolute genital anesthesia, which lasted for perhaps a year. Very slowly, genital sensation came back. Then I experienced perhaps 3 years of “ghost” orgasms, in which arousal is followed by what would have been an orgasm but instead, a non-event lacking sensation, and then a refractory period. Following that, I had perhaps a 4-year phase of “ghost” orgasms with occasional weak orgasms, which gradually became stronger and more frequent. At about 9 years post-Paxil, I was fully recovered from PSSD. As I was menopausal before I came off Paxil, my belief is younger people with full complements of sexual hormones will tend to recover faster. However, recovery from PSSD can be almost imperceptibly gradual, which can be masked or even impeded by the very understandable frustration, anger, and despair brought on by the condition. - See more at: http://wp.rxisk.org/recovering-from-pssd/#sthash.79ZNkZ4R.dpuf This is not medical advice.
