Alto,

Thank you extremely much for the rapid reply. It sounds like at least some of pianoman1's contact info made it through and is in the SA computers. If you have any trouble contacting him, I have complete info. Feel free to contact me at home or through the board — I'll keep an eye out for messages. I'll also let him know.

Thanks again,

Jerome

No history of AD meds. Single dose 6 mg/day of Ativan (9 mg/d max!) for 7 years. Summer of 2012 I learned about IW sx and began the change to 3X day dosing, finishing in October. Big improvement in sx. Finally got under way with a hybrid [wet/dry] daily cut taper in Dec. 2012, at 0.0125 mg/day. I also take 5 mg/day of Valium and opiate pain meds. On medical hold, re-started taper 5/21. Cardiac sx put taper on hold for summer of 2013. Some of what I thought were wd sx remitted when I had the heart problem corrected. > IW sx led to 4X/day dosing, again definitely helpful. Fractured my left wrist in April, 2014, taper on hold again  . Restarting 12/2016, at 1 mg 4 X day, ramping to a projected reduction rate of ~ 10 µg per day :P  This time, I'm not stopping for adverse medical conditions.

My taper method, which will soon be further simplified and contain corrected information, is linked here: http://survivinganti...ised/?hl=jerome

Hello Alto,

Very sorry to bother you again. I saw there was one notification for me. In the process of trying to retrieve it, it disappeared and I have not been able to recover. Pianoman1 has had no contact, possibly because the lost notification gave instructions on how to proceed. It is no longer possible to log on as pianoman1, as it was yesterday, so I'm guessing the failed attempt at registration has been removed, and we can proceed to re-register from square one. I don't want to try that until I am certain it won't mess things up further  . I await your instructions, number one.

Effusive thanks :excl:

Jerome

Hi Techie Person,

I would like to upload a file but have reached my limit.  I've been merrily uploading things and not realising that they were using up my allowance.

Is it possible, when you get a chance, to delete the attachments from the following posts which are not now required?  The last one has a note that only one of the attachments should be deleted.  If you are not able to do this I understand.  If you can, thank you very much.

Hi CC , I just experimented with one post in Glenmullems' thread , and we can delete the post or the content , but the attachment is still there.

Try going to your "My Media" section and deleting them from there.

Hi TechGal Fresh,

Thanks for trying.  I did find My Media but there is no delete there.  However, I went to My Settings > Manage Attachments (to the left) and you can select which one/s you want to delete.

Not sure about the Glenmullen ones which have been included in Post # 1.  I assume Alto has them saved herself.  Cheers.  CC

Hello

I am sorry to have to post as a new topic  but no one sees what I have written on my original introduction.

But I am getting individual messages from surviving Antidepressants in my private email address.  This has never happened before and now since yesterday I have received 4 or 5 individual posts there coming directly from here because they are posted here too.

Is this something new?  I tried to answer them but they will not go through - saying error....Can someone please tell me if they are getting these too - or is this something new now.

Thank you

Lee

Zoloft started for 8 years - 150 mg capsules

Started tapering December 3, 2011,

Off Zoloft May 17, 2013

While tapering WDS were tolerable

Off Zoloft debilitating WDS the worst starting around 6 months off

even worse after 18 months off

Now 35 months off - still in a terrible wave for months now.

Is it messages from members or notifications? Not sure what is happening there but if you go to your settings you can turn off email  notifications. Hope that sorts it out for you. I'll move this to technical support so others can see it if it becomes a problem for them.

July 2016 I have decided to leave my story here at SA unfinished. I have left my contact information in my profile for anyone who wishes to talk to me. I have a posting history spanning nearly 4 years and 3000+ posts all over the site.

Thank you to all who participated in my recovery. I'll miss talking to you but know that I'll be cheering you on from the sidelines, suffering and rejoicing with you in spirit, as you go on in your journey.

divalee: I posted a possible solution in your intro thread. Here's a link to my post.

It's possible that you inadvertently hit a "follow this thread" or "follow this forum" button. I occasionally find myself on a web page or getting messages I didn't expect for that reason -- fingers faster than I'm thinking!

I generally get a lock box saying this site is secure today I have an i in a circle saying it is not secure the source seems to be google analytics and paypal... best I can discern...

what does it mean?

WARNING THIS WILL BE LONG
Had a car accident in 85
Codeine was the pain med when I was release from hosp continuous use till 89
Given PROZAC by a specialist to help with nerve pain in my leg 89-90 not sure which year
Was not told a thing about it being a psych med thought it was a pain killer no info about psych side effects I went nuts had hallucinations. As I had a head injury and was diagnosed with a concussion in 85 I was sent to a head injury clinic in 1990 five years after the accident. I don't think they knew I had been on prozac I did not think it a big deal and never did finish the bottle of pills. I had tests of course lots of them. Was put into a pain clinic and given amitriptyline which stopped the withdrawal but had many side effects. But I could sleep something I had not done in a very long time the pain lessened. My mother got cancer in 94 they switched my meds to Zoloft to help deal with this pressure as I was her main care giver she died in 96. I stopped zoloft in 96 had withdrawal was put on paxil went nutty quit it ct put on resperidol quit it ct had withdrawal was put on Effexor... 2years later celexa was added 20mg then increased to 40mg huge personality change went wild. Did too fast taper off Celexa 05 as I felt unwell for a long time prior... quit Effexor 150mg ct 07 found ****** 8 months into withdrawal learned some things was banned from there in 08 have kept learning since. there is really not enough room here to put my history but I have a lot of opinions about a lot of things especially any of the drugs mentioned above.
One thing I would like to add here is this tidbit ALL OPIATES INCREASE SEROTONIN it is not a huge jump to being in chronic pain to being put on an ssri/snri and opiates will affect your antidepressants and your thinking.

As I do not update much I will put my quit date Nov. 17 2007 I quit Effexor cold turkey.

Just a note for mods or administration:

So.....the posting difficulty occurred during editing.  I was able to sign off and then on again and it seemed to clear and I could edit as I wished.  Also when signing on I am getting a new warning as far as site security goes.  Not sure what all this means or nothing.

It worked out well for me though as I am finding myself WANTING to spend more time writing on paper and less with internet.......or perhaps get more disciplined somehow in my own life and with online usage.  Alas though.......a slight worry as far as the site being hacked or something or maybe just my own online interactions.  Sa la vie......live and let live I think........but I best work on my printer soon and print some of my own stuff off........just in case.

Love, peace, healing,

mmt

Started with psycho meds circa 1988 I think 27 or 28 total.

AD's, antpsychotics, antiseizure mood stabilizers. Lithium, lamictal, benzos, and stimulants. Some med. for narcolepsy once?, Gabapentin........probably more.  Ask me?......I probably was on it.  Haphazard W/D's by Dr. recommend or uneducated self.

10/2014- off Lexapro--had been on highest dose 10 mg. then 5 mg. for a couple of years, went from 5 mg. to 3 mg. liquid and then CT in hospital(voluntary).  I got out of the hospital on a combination of low dose adderal salts x1/day and trileptal 150mg. x2/day.

5/28/2015-off Adderal salts 2.5mg. (I had been on that since hospital 10/2014)

12/2015---just holding, holding, holding, with trileptal/oxcarb at 75 mg. 1/2 tab at hs.  My last psycho med ever!

3/21/2016---I did some unwise updosing of trileptal/oxcarbazepine with some stressful stuff......doubled the above dose x2 during this last wave but began liquifying again and on approximately 68mg. starting today.  11/12//2016 24 mg. oxcarbazepine  12/9/2016 off oxcarbazepine/trileptal!!!! :) optimistic

Omega3's,EPA +DHA= approx. 1200/day. Magnesium citrate orally, diluted in a liter of H2O(that I can shake up.....it usually dissolves more completely as the water gets down to room temperature) and/or Epsom salt baths prn.   Vit. C and E.  B12, melatonin 3mcg., and bioidentical hormones sublingually.  Trace mineral drops.  L-lysine.  L-methylfolate=300 mcg. Totally ready for a good long window to hit soon and getting better strings of full days and partial days along the way.  Definite improvement overall since I first arrived on the SA survivor ship.  Herb and alcohol free since 5/15/2016.

I was editing and then just couldn't.  No strange scripts showed up or anything........it appeared I had lost my post(the one I was editing).  Then when I signed out and then back in......voila......my post was back and intact.

The very tiny techno portion of my brain thought maybe it was just a busy site at the time(I can't confirm this though).  It happened once before when a mod was moving one of my posts at the same time I was posting it.......the difficulties while editing the same post that was being moved.  That time the mod msg ed me.  So perhaps a mod was reviewing it??......something like that?

Tiny techno portion of my brain seems to be growing a bit too.

Sooooo......I don't know......maybe not a problem at all?

Thanks Alto and all of you mods.   For all you do!!!  Without a doubt I could not have gotten where I am, this far, without you!!

Best,

mmt

It was my post on the string started by january eve which was above the one that got moved here.  Thanks.

I posted a message in a forum, no problem.

Then I read some more, wrote another reply, tried to post, and it said something about my security code being wrong. It worked for the first post! Why was I signed out when I did not sign myself out between my two posts?

Then I lost my post! which took quite a bit of work to compose.

Why is this happening? Is it necessary to make posts disappear like this? Very disheartening.

1990-2016   Prozac, 30 mg. Tapered over 4 years, now down to 20 mg per WEEK.

Nov. 2016, tapering Prozac until completely off (soon, I hope).

March 2015 through Oct. 2016   Xanax 0.25 mg 3x daily.

Nov. 2016   Xanax: Completely off.

1-2 days after going off Xanax, severe muscle pain. Continues.

Some members have commented that this site does not use the secure protocol, "https."

As of the time of this post, Alto is investigating whether this is possible to do at a price we are willing to pay.

HOW DO I KNOW THAT A SITE IS USING HTTPS?

When a site is using HTTPS, you will see an icon that looks like a padlock in the address bar of your browser.

WHAT DOES HTTPS DO?

When a site uses https, the communication between your computer and the site's web server are encrypted. This makes it very difficult for others using the same network as you, say at a library or coffee shop or even at home, to see what you are communicating. A hacker or snoop could detect that you are exchanging data or communicating, but not the details.

HOW DO I GET SECURE PROTECTION, HTTPS, BEFORE YOU SET IT UP OR IF YOU CAN'T?

You can force a secure connection, HTTPS, by using a browser extension. The Electronic Frontier Foundation, a non-profit advocate and protector of online civil liberties, has developed an extension to force HTTPS for these browsers:

  • Mozilla Firefox
  • Google Chrome
  • Opera

If you are using one of these browsers, clicking on the link below to be directed to the extension for your browser:
EFF's HTTPS Everywhere extension for your browser

---Phones & Tablets---

If you are using an Android phone, you can download Firefox for Android with the extension pre-installed at this link on the EFF site.

If you are using an iOS (Apple) phone or tablet, download Firefox or Android from the app store and then search for the "HTTPS Everywhere" extension through the browser itself.

If you require support to do this, please use your favourite search engine. Many helpful people have posted instructions  on their blogs; your search will likely yield youtube videos.

Please do NOT ask me for technical support with this issue. I'm feeling cranky and unhelpful about these matters lately.
