Yes, relief, Tom. Your words brought tears to my eyes. It has been unbelievable long. But it has been so nice to have you walking next to me (and others) on this long journey. I just wish you all the best!

(I actually have thought I will crash my scale!)

Hugs!!!

Started on 25 mg Zoloft in March 2011 due to stressrelated tinnitus that gave me panicattacks, then after two weeks up to 50 mg, which dose I was only on for five weeks. Had a terrible reaction to Zoloft from start, but was told to "hold on". After four months on 25 mg/12 mg/18,75 mg I was stuck. Therefore the long taper. Crazy, I know... Super sensitive to drops and have dropped by 4-6 % from the prevoius dose all the way from 17,5 mg.

Wonderful Amy that you're nearly done with tapering! Wish you all the best with the last steps!

1997-1999 Citalopram 20 mg

1999-2014 Sertraline 50 mg

2012 Sertraline very quick taper due to side effects. Switched to Wellbutrin 150 mg-300 mg. Reinstated Sertraline 25 mg-50 mg.

2013 Exhaustion. Wellbutrin 150 mg. Sertraline 75 mg-100 mg.

Sept 2014 Found this site. Started tapering. Sertraline 87,5 mg + Wellbutrin 150 mg

Aug 2015 No more Wellbutrin!! Sertraline 50 mg

2016 Sertraline 35 mg (January) - 33 mg (March 21st) - 32,5 mg (July 11) - 32 mg (July 27)

Wow, Amy! I was not aware you were tapering for 6 years. One for the books!

I def would take it slow all the way, and even taper down to microscopic levels.

Your story just shows what can be done with iron will and patience.

Hugs!

Sept 2015: 5 mg Cipralex for 3 weeks. Lots of side effects. Reduced to 2.5 mg for 2 weeks. Experiencing withdrawal and side effects still after dose reduction. Quit after almost 4 weeks on 2.5 mg because of adverse effects. Experiencing withdrawal symptoms still. Reinstating 1mg after 3 weeks. Reduced to 0.50 after 2 days due to sensitive reaction (dysautonomia) and trip to ER. January 2016: After 14 months of tapering from 0.5 mg im now down to 0.08mg. Planing on one more drop before 4-8 weeks healing, then jump to zero. 14.03.17: Lexapro free!

Thankyou Mjau and Cipramillion. I will go down to 0,0265 or even less. I go with how it feels.

Yesterday: head ache and body ache. Felt a real "lack" of the drug.
Today: No head ache, better.

I don't go with wd for weeks as I did on the higher doses. It changes more quickly. That is something!

It's sounds like you have good guidance from how you are feeling. That you feel a "lack" of the drug and that you feel when it's time to taper. This guidance - did you have it from start or was it something you developed later on?

Probably wise to go down to a smaller dose before jumping off as you've had symptoms. Great that you're getting better!!

I think I had it somewhat from start, but more distinct in the latest two years.
I have never felt totally good on the drug, I think my body tried to get rid of it from start. That's why.
But even if I never felt good on it, I was hooked.
Horrible drug.

I very much relate to your process. I never felt good on Remeron/Mirtazapine. One day in 2015 I woke up in the morning and said to myself, I'm over - medicated. Started my taper that night. And even though it's not recommended on this site to taper two drugs at once, the same thing occurred months later. I woke up and thought, I'm over medicated and knew it was the Lamictal. Started tapering that night. So glad I made that choice.

Thank you for the insight about the changes at the lower dosage happening more quickly. You insight about not having to stay at a dose for weeks is very helpful.

September 2013-April 2014: After the death of my mom in July 2012.-became very depressed in September of 2013. Given a series of antidepressants very quickly from about 4 different psychiatrists in a 6 month period. Each one was from 1 day to 10 days at the most. My body could not handle it-I had Zoloft 6 days, Lexapro-1 day, Nortriptyline-10 days, Liquid Prozac, 1 week, Cymbalta 1 week.

December 2013-September 2014: Put on Xanax after a reaction to the Lexapro, averaging .50-1mg per day. Switched to Clonazepam-midway averaging about 0.25-0.50 daily.

June 2014: Jan/Feb 2015: Put on 7.5 Remeron titrate up to 41.25mgs

September 2014-July 2015: Put on 25mgs of Lamictal titrate up to 200mgs daily. Also stopped the Clonzepam- never felt the wd I had experienced when I tried to stop it before (knowing nothing about withdrawal) because the Lamictal calmed me down.

Currently: I tarted tapering Remeron from January 2015-April 2017-2 years, 3 months. Started tapering Lamictal July 2015. Tapered both medications together till I got to the lower doses of Remeron. Main wd symptoms-sweating, nausea, headaches, deep crying, anxiety.

12/21/16 Remeron 1.6 Lamictal 22.50 mgs 1/19/17 Remeron 1.2mgs, Lamictal 22.50mg 2/12/17 Remeron 1.2 Lamictal 21.25 mgs 3/4/17 Remeron 0.85 Lamictal 21.25 3/14 Remeron 0.85 Lamictal 20mgs 3/22 Remeron 0.45 Lamictal 20mg 3/25 Remeron 0.45 Lamictal 18.75mgs 3/30 Remeron 0.025 4/7 Lamictal 18.75mgs Remeron 0.025 5/19/17 Lamictal 17.50

4/7/2017 Remeron Free stopped at 0.025mgs

Additional Support: Acupuncture with Reflexology, Alanon, L-Theanine for anxiety as needed, Estradial patch 0.025, Bio-indentical Progesterone cream 150-200 Armour Thyroid 90mgs.

I don't go with wd for weeks as I did on the higher doses. It changes more quickly. That is something!

Hi AmyK! Sounds like you are doing great! Awesome… Keep it up!

That's interesting about the WD lasting less time on the lower doses for you. It's a good sign!!!! Hugs!

Long story short: After 18 years on Paxil, "tapered" in July 2015 from 20 to 10 to 5 mg in a month, at doctor's advice. = Essentially a cold-turkey.

*Current*: March: 0.82 mg Paxil. Jan 1: .88 mg, baby!! …. August 31: Less than 1mg Paxil! ... July 30: 1 mg Paxil! ! ! And 100 mg Zoloft unfortunately!!

-------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------

On Paxil since 1996--anxiety & depression likely caused by (then-undiagnosed) under-eating / eating disorder.

Rapid "taper" July 2015 and started Zoloft as a "cross-taper". Feb 2016: Found SA!! As of June 2016: Doing 2% cuts (Brassmonkey Slide!).

Now: fish oil, magnesium; protein; exercise; healthy fats; acupuncture, meditation, & a new doctor. I am in recovery from an eating disorder!!! ***Have you had a sleep study?*** *Feel free to message me if I don't respond to a forum thread.*

Thankyou, SkyBlue! Yes, it's unbeliavable that all those years tapering actually have an end.
All the best to you.

Please anyone who is reading my thread, I dont recommend tapering this quick if your body isn't up to it. I have been very careful all the way down to doses under 1 mg. (My tapering rate was 4-6 % per month.) But it's like my body cant stand the drug anymore on this low dose, I have to taper quicker. Just to clarify.

Tapering Zoloft since 2011. Current dose: 0,0003 mg (!)

0,00065 mg 18 May 0.001 mg 14 May 0,002 mg 9 May 0,003 mg 28 April 0,006 mg 19 April 0,009 mg 8 April 0,013 mg 25 March 0,019 mg 22 March 0,039 mg 18 March? 0,052 mg 16 March 0,079 mg 4 March 0,086 1 March 0,099 mg 22 February 0,11 mg 15 February 0,13 mg 6 February 0,145 mg 24 January 0,15 mg 19 January 0,19 mg 10 January 0,20 mg 3 January

2016: 0,98 to 0,22 mg

2015: 2,35 to 1,01 mg

2014: 4,9 to 2,5 mg

2013: 9,1 to 5,1 mg

2012: 15,7 to 9,7 mg

2011: Started on 25 mg - then 50 mg- dropped to 25- to 12.5 mg - back to 25 mg - after 18.75 mg started tiny tapering to 16.6 mg

Hibari! I forgot to reply to you. How good of you to listen to your body and starting to taper. If you feel you can handle the tapering of two drugs, then that is right for you. Have you looked at Rhiannons thread? She (I think she?) is tapering several drugs, in micro cuts.
I wish you all the best.

Don't think it too much, Amy.
Our mind is so terrified over the horrible experience and suffering for that long. It's not gonna to really mess you up much for this tiny dose off. I leaned this just recently by updosing even being so scared with much smaller dose change than the one I increased. I found the brain actually still can adjust somehow more than I expected, suffering is unavoidable sometimes but we survive.

Big bear hugs!

Thanks for the hugs, Lex!
I went down to 0.0198 mg today. I had this stoned drugged feeling again yesterday, so I just went for it. Maybe I will regret it, but I prefer wd to that heavy awful feeling.
Tonight dizzy, but ok. I so had enough of all this. My body is telling zoloft good bye, well that's my hope and guess.

I would really kick the butt of all these poisons if you don't land softly with such a slow, steady taper!
How much endurance and patience can be expected from a human being ??!!

Fingers crossed for you Amy! We are in the same boat, setting sails for victory!

Hugs!

2011: Started on 25 mg - then 50 mg- dropped to 25- to 12.5 mg - back to 25 mg - after 18.75 mg started tiny tapering to 16.6 mg

I feel with you, Amy!

Im having the same sympomts of total exhaustion and fall asleep all the time, dizzy and derealization. This is hopefully the final stage before getting back to a more normal state.

Not great! Constant most severe pain all types allover like no end, heart shaking intensity feeling horrified in huge struggle hanging on.
On a positive side, brain is more clear, energy better, less DR.

Lost in a new WD world.

You are going to make it Amy. Your body is perhaps sending you a momentary halt sign but that doesn't mean weeks. You can do it.

Yes, still on 0.13, side by side with you, although lex is much more potent.
Don't know anymore, the sharp pain on left head/entire left body, severe ear pain alternates every other day with the killing needling pain even I hold the dose constant. Don't know what to think about this pattern. Taking dose helps with the left side pain and ear pain, but not the needling pain, so am guessing the needling is from the drug. I always had this needling pain as my most torturous symptom ever since I started tapering, but never like this time so constant and severe.

Dropping dose is not an option either as the heart would fail as I did last time at 0.06mg when the pain was not bad.
Don't think any human being ever had so much pain still pushing through and even working
