Moderator Emeritus Baxter Posted July 19, 2011 Moderator Emeritus Share Posted July 19, 2011 my psychiatrist prescribed it to me to "take the edge off" of the jitteriness and restlessness that Cymbalta caused me at 60mg. I found that it was somewhat helpful, but the frontal headaches that Cymbalta (all ADs) causes seemed to increase in frequency. I took it faithfully for a few months (it seemed to perk my libido up a tad). Then as I decreased Cymbalta, I stopped taking it. I think that is was helpful with the agitation/edginess of being on so much Cymbalta. I also took it for a few days the last time I tried to drop and hit so many symptoms that I went back up to 30mg. It seemed to help a little then, too. 1989 - 1992 Parnate* 1992-1998 Paxil - pooped out*, oxazapam, inderal 1998 - 2005 Celexa - pooped out* klonopin, oxazapam, inderal *don't remember doses 2005 -2007 Cymbalta 60 mg oxazapam, inderal, klonopin Started taper in 2007: CT klonopin, oxazapam, inderal (beta blocker) - 2007 Cymbalta 60mg to 30mg 2007 -2010 July 2010 - March 2018 on hiatus due to worsening w/d symptoms, which abated and finally disappeared. Administrator Altostrata Posted July 19, 2011 Administrator Share Posted July 19, 2011 I took a tiny amount early in withdrawal syndrome and it caused my joints to swell up. My wrists still haven't recovered from the injury I got then. It didn't help my withdrawal symptoms. This is supposed to be an anti-anxiety drug, squirrel. Same caveats apply, if you're hypersensitive, you may get unanticipated results. This is not medical advice. Discuss any decisions about your medical care with a knowledgeable medical practitioner.
