My doctor prescribed effexor for depression, in 2009. Now I'm free of symptoms and I managed to come off with withdrawal symptoms though. That's with the antidepressant. Now I'm on Risperdal consta from November 2013 and seroxat 10mg. My doctor prescribed with risperdal consta 3,3mg/day long acting injection every two weeks. From February 2015 he lowered the dosage to 25mg/every 2 weeks equals 1,66mg/day. I tried to lower the seroxat 10mg but after 40-45h I have withdrawal symptoms vertigo, dizziness. Is it possible to cut down seroxat? How about the Risperdal consta (long acting injection). Has anyone tapered off completely without withdrawals? I read about the 10% harm reduction procedure to taper off and I'm going to tell my doctor and follow. thanks in advance Edited May 4, 2018 by Shep tags added (JanCarol), added moderator note (Shep) 2011 protracted withdrawal symptoms from Effexor, managed to come off 2013-2015 risperidone consta 50 mg, started tapering from March 2015 to 1,66mg/day and from 02/2015 started seroxat 10mg/day 01/17 Seroxat 2,0mg,olanzapine 5mg,risperidone consta 25mg/every 15days 05/17 Seroxat 1mg,olanzapine 5mg,risp.consta 25mg/every 15days 06/17 Seroxat 2drops,olanzapine 5mg,liquid risperidone2mg 07/17 Seroxat 1 drop, olanzapine 5mg,Risperidone 0mg, 10/17 Seroxat 0mg,olanzapine,5mg,Risperidone 0mg, 12/17 Seroxat 1/2 drop, olanzapine 5mg, 04/18 Olanzapine 1,25mg, 04/18 xanax 0,5mg 24/06/2019 doc said to take 10mg olanzapine for 13days and down to 5mg been taking 10mg for 14 days, 5mg for 8 days and tapered to 3/4quart. 5mg for 14 days, 1/2 for 14 days, 01/08/19 2,5mg 08/2021 5mg olanzapine Supplements Omega 3, Turmeric, Bacopa monneri, Mucuna Pruriens Link to comment

There was a massive lawsuit in the US about paxil (seroxtat) where the withdrawal effects were severely debilitating. So you're totally going to want to taper that stuff SLOWLY, don't just come off of it quickly. It's going to take a while. You can do it. Link to comment

Miko789
I started tapering off seroxat on Monday, a long way to go. i'm going to taper off by 10% reductions, the first one 0,9ml 0,81ml 0,72ml 0,65ml 0,59ml 0,53ml 0,47ml .... Now I take 0,9ml. so far so good I have a question. If I make the reductions every 20days it will take more than 6 months to taper from 10mg, should I cut to 5mg (a quarter) and then start making the reduction from there.? My doctor was not aware of the 10% reduction process and he said to continue the medication Risperdal and seroxat. Also the liquid form or seroxat had only 2ml drops and I got a 1ml syringe that had 0,02ml markings for accurate measurement. Administrator Altostrata Posted June 25, 2015 Administrator Share Posted June 25, 2015 Yes, it can take many months to taper. Do not accelerate your taper until you know your withdrawal symptom pattern (hopefully, no withdrawal symptoms). Redmanone
Hey miko, its redmanone. You need to get off risperdal ASAP. Antipsychotics are horrible as they chemically lobomize individuals. I got a long acting injection of invega sustenna and i am now utterly emotionless. I cannot do the things that i once enjoyed. All i do everyday is wake up and research about my condition and contemplate suicide. It has put me in a lasting depression that i literally cant get out of. For all things holy, please quit getting the risperdal injections. Anafranil 100mg -was injected with invega sustenna 234mg then a week later 156mg Link to comment

LoveandLight
So pleased your taper is going well! 2000 - sertraline for job anxiety low confidence (17 years old) ..which turned the next 16 years into nightmare! On/off sertraline severe withdrawals every time. 2014 - felt better as reduced dose of sertraline no more inner restlessness. Doctor rushed off again. Hit severe withdrawal. Lost the little I had in life. Couldn't get stable again on 12.5mg. Was switched to prozac. Had severe reaction to prozac..came off in November 2015 at 6mg as felt more confused and damaged on it..Even more withdrawal ..rage, depression, dyphoria, near constant suicidal ideation, self harm impulses, doom, concrete block in head, unable to do much of anything with this feeling in head..went back on 6mg of sertraline to see if would alleviate anything. It didn't..reduced from December to June 2016 came off at 2.5mg sertraline as was hospitalised for the severe rage, suicidal impulses, and put on 50mg lofepramine which in 2nd week reduced all symptoms but gave insomnia which still have..psych stopped lofepramine cold turkey..no increased withdrawal symptoms new symptoms from lofepramine except persistant insomnia which has as side effect. Taking Ativan for 8 months for the severe rage self harm impulses 1-3 times a week (mostly 2 times a week) at .5mg. Two months (I'm unsure exactly when the interdose started to happen) ago interdose withdrawal seemed to happen..2 days I think after the Ativan. Nightmare that could have been avoided! Miko789
Hi guys, I had some trouble the other day. I reduced seroxat (paxil) from 5 mg to 4,5mg just 0,5mg and withdrawal symptoms hit me, dizziness, vertigo, brain fog. After 4 days the withdrawal came back so I had to increase the dosage and return today to safe dosage 5mg and all the withdrawal symptoms disappeared. I noticed in the syringe it had bubbles in so the reduced by 10% dosage was actually 4,2mg that means it was close to 1mg reduction so 20% reduction. I tried this way and learn my lesson. 2011 protracted withdrawal symptoms from Effexor, managed to come off 2013-2015 risperidone consta 50 mg, started tapering from March 2015 to 1,66mg/day and from 02/2015 started seroxat 10mg/day 01/17 Seroxat 2,0mg,olanzapine 5mg,risperidone consta 25mg/every 15days 05/17 Seroxat 1mg,olanzapine 5mg,risp.consta 25mg/every 15days 06/17 Seroxat 2drops,olanzapine 5mg,liquid risperidone2mg 07/17 Seroxat 1 drop, olanzapine 5mg,Risperidone 0mg, 10/17 Seroxat 0mg,olanzapine,5mg,Risperidone 0mg, 12/17 Seroxat 1/2 drop, olanzapine 5mg, 04/18 Olanzapine 1,25mg, 04/18 xanax 0,5mg 24/06/2019 doc said to take 10mg olanzapine for 13days and down to 5mg been taking 10mg for 14 days, 5mg for 8 days and tapered to 3/4quart. 5mg for 14 days, 1/2 for 14 days, 01/08/19 2,5mg 08/2021 5mg olanzapine Supplements Omega 3, Turmeric, Bacopa monneri, Mucuna Pruriens Link to comment

Miko789
Paxil update. I have no resistance to stress and some unpredictable events can cause stress. I'm not sure if someone else has this, maybe this is because of long term use including tapering(2years) medication Risperdal and zyprexa or the hypothalamus. Now for the paxil-seroxat. I'm down to 3,0mg paxil successfully for two weeks now and not having severe withdrawal symptoms just mild headache from time to time but after having some coffee fix it goes away. I suppose caffeine helps with the headache. The new doctor told about the paxil dosage that 3,0mg is low enough but I have to stay on it. I have a naïve question to ask. If I go abroad for work to the UK or other country Germany how will I do the injection . for the zyprexa and paxil I have some back up quantities until I settle . thanks for the input.

Miko789
I'm on 3mg seroxat now, I increased the dosage because I had low energy and fatigue and after taking 3mg all these were improved. Pepita
Uff, I don´t know if any AD´s are "good" and of course everyone reacts differently but as you may have read in my topic (because you posted there today) - I have a very strong WD reaction and my whole life never took more than 10mg Escitalopram for maybe 1 year altogether. So I would definitely not recommend it;) 2005-2006: Cipralex 5 mg 2009-2010: Cipralex 5 mg 2012-2015: Cipralex 5mg, 10mg tapered 10mg-7.5mg-5mg-2,5-0 (I always waited for a few weeks on the current dosage until I felt stable.
