Goodness. 40 medications!! I'm glad she got off of those drugs.

I wouldn't try to juice fresh marijuana plants myself. I also wouldn't recommend it to anyone who hadn't done a lot of juicing. Green juices can make a lot of hay in the system and one can mess themselves pretty badly. When I did a juice fast last summe I was having to put out brush fires over and again.

"Well my ship's been split to splinters and it's sinking fast
I'm drowning in the poison, got no future, got no past
But my heart is not weary, it's light and it's free
I've got nothing but affection for all those who sailed with me.

Everybody's moving, if they ain't already there
Everybody's got to move somewhere
Stick with me baby, stick with me anyhow
Things should start to get interesting right about now."

Hay in the system? Bush fires? What?

I think I'd be wary of trying anything like this just now..maybe at some point

2000 - sertraline for job anxiety low confidence (17 years old) ..which turned the next 16 years into nightmare!

On/off sertraline severe withdrawals every time. 2014 - felt better as reduced dose of sertraline no more inner restlessness. Doctor rushed off again. Hit severe withdrawal. Lost the little I had in life. Couldn't get stable again on 12.5mg. Was switched to prozac. Had severe reaction to prozac..came off in November 2015 at 6mg as felt more confused and damaged on it..Even more withdrawal ..rage, depression, dyphoria, near constant suicidal ideation, self harm impulses, doom, concrete block in head, unable to do much of anything with this feeling in head..went back on 6mg of sertraline to see if would alleviate anything. It didn't..reduced from December to June 2016 came off at 2.5mg sertraline as was hospitalised for the severe rage, suicidal impulses, and put on 50mg lofepramine which in 2nd week reduced all symptoms but gave insomnia which still have..psych stopped lofepramine cold turkey..no increased withdrawal symptoms new symptoms from lofepramine except persistant insomnia which has as side effect.

Taking Ativan for 8 months for the severe rage self harm impulses 1-3 times a week (mostly 2 times a week) at .5mg. Two months (I'm unsure exactly when the interdose started to happen) ago interdose withdrawal seemed to happen..2 days I think after the Ativan.

Nightmare that could have been avoided!

Extremely far-fetched.

If you Google Dr. William L. Courtney, you will see he's been very active in self-promotion.

Figures of speech. I'm an American, I do as best as I can with the English. lol!

It seems far fetched to me in more ways than one. I have experience with juicing and can see how that helps some people in certain cases. And I have experience with cannabinoids and I can see how that helps some people in certain cases. But I think the advocates of those therapies can get carried away. In the context of this fforum, I wouldn't advocate that people reading this juice fresh marijuana plants to remedy symptoms.

It's definitely worth investigating before rejecting, especially because Darwin shared it in the spirit of helpfulness. Saying nothing is an option, too.

I often see people dismissing something they haven't tried, on various health forums, and often it is a genuinely beneficial thing. It's maddening when it's an old thread and it's too late to barge in and offer a good link.

Coconut oil changed my life in January, and a few others here have gotten a benefit (discussed in symptoms and self-care). Wellbutrin abolished my ongoing bleak mood in a week. I used 200mg SR it for 4 weeks, after which I DC'd, and the mood hasn't come back, 4 months later. Both of these were things I was told wouldn't work, or would make me worse (not necessarily here).

In the case of coconut oil, I think it's a shame that some of us got significant benefit from it, but it's very hard for new people to find out. I used it for ten days and my morning dread/terror of almost 2 years' durations was gone, and my need for beer to fall asleep was also gone. I don't know how much longer could have tolerated those mornings or gaining weight/spending money on beer. (It was physical; my scalp felt frozen and hot.) I've lost ten points without dieting too.

2009: Cancer hospital said I had adjustment disorder because I thought they were doing it wrong. Their headshrinker prescribed Effexor, and my life set on a new course. I didn't know what was ahead, like a passenger on Disneyland's Matterhorn, smiling and waving as it climbs...clink, clink, clink.

2010: Post surgical accidental Effexor discontinuation by nurses, masked by intravenous Dilaudid. (The car is balanced at the top of the track.) I get home, pop a Vicodin, and ...

Whooosh...down, down, down, down, down...goes the trajectory of my life, up goes my mood and tendency to think everything is a good idea.
2012: After the bipolar jig was up, now a walking bag of unrelated symptoms, I went crazy on Daytrana (the Ritalin skin patch by Noven), because ADHD was a perfect fit for a bag of unrelated symptoms. I was prescribed Effexor for the nervousness of it, and things got neurological. An EEG showed enough activity to warrant an epilepsy diagnosis rather than non-epileptic ("psychogenic") seizures.

:o 2013-2014: Quit everything and got worse. I probably went through DAWS: dopamine agonist withdrawal syndrome. I drank to not feel, but I felt a lot: dread, fear, regret, grief: an utter sense of total loss of everything worth breathing about, for almost two years.

I was not suicidal but I wanted to be dead, at least dead to the experience of my own brain and body.

2015: I  began to recover after adding virgin coconut oil and organic grass-fed fed butter to a cup of instant coffee in the morning.

I did it hoping for mental acuity and better memory. After ten days of that, I was much better, mood-wise. Approximately neutral.

And, I experienced drowsiness. I could sleep. Not exactly happy, I did 30 days on Wellbutrin, because it had done me no harm in the past.

I don't have the DAWS mood or state of mind. It never feel like doing anything if it means standing up.

In fact, I don't especially like moving. I'm a brain with a beanbag body.

I wouldn't recommend it before trying to juice a more ready plant like wheatgrass or even kale. Juices are serious business and so are pesticides. But I've tried many things myself so if somebody feels strongly that juicing marijuana crops is the way to go, then sure, let me know how it goes.

Very good point, alex -- the juices from greens might be just as helpful, without the psychoactive risk.

The reasoning that if you ingest a psychoactive drug and you feel better, then the drug is addressing a deficiency is fallacious.

it's not psychoactive when you eat it. it being a psychoactive is merely a side effect due to improper use of the vegetable; it was never meant to be smoked. How is it fallacious

I'll ask my sister's friend. He knows a lot about cannabis and grows multiple plant varieties. Don't think he ever juiced it, but he does produce his own medicinal oils.
Mind you, I'm from the Netherlands, so we have a tolerance policy here. And no, I'm not from Amsterdam and no, Amsterdam is not all about coffee shops. It's just that we have a more tolerant view toward cannabis I think.

All my life: Occasional panic attacks. 2003: Burnout  2004: intrusion (OCD'ish) / anxiety. Therapies: acupuncture, Chinese herbs, hypnotherapy --> symptoms were manageable (did return once in a while), depression lifted.
2007 - Relapse, started with Cognitive Behavioral Therapy. Therapist recommended Fevarin (fluvoxamine) 150 mg. Recovery after 3 months and remained stable. Mild side effects.
2009 - Tapered fluvoxamine. No withdrawal symptoms. 2010 - Relapse, same Pure O thought and anxiety.  Started taking 100 mg of fluvoxamine but after 9 weeks no change in symptoms. Did not have any effect on Pure O thought. Switched to Lexapro (escitalopram) 20 mg.  Drug started working within 3 weeks. Mild side effects. Slowly over the years tapered to 5 mg.
2015: Lots of personal issues and setbacks, occasional panic attack. 2016: April started skipping doses; 5mg escitalopram every other day (in hindsight a bad idea)
May: Major relapse, anxiety and intrusion returned. Depression. Increased from 2,5 mg 15 mg in two weeks. Side effects: neuro-emotions
June: Escitalopram has no effect on the frequency of the intrusion...after 4 weeks my general doctor advised me to do a fast taper to 5mg. Withdrawal effects (2/3 weeks): neuro-emotions, lack of focus, crying spells, fatigue, muscle twitches in legs, cortisol spikes just before waking up July: Stable on 5 mg. Depression and intrusion lifted during holiday (lots of sunshine, long walks and relaxing) August: Drop down to 2,5 mg. Withdrawal effects (tinnitus, headagues) are noticeable, but still mild in comparison to the big drop earlier.
22th August: stopped escitalopram completely. Cortisol spikes just before waking up, still OCD (only temporary improvements), WD-depression and WD-neuro emotions.
Update 6 dec: no medication, any withdrawal symptoms not noticable. Taking supplements for intrusive thoughts and overall well being: N-Acetyl Cysteine (NAC) omega 3 fish oils, zinc, vitamin d, magnesium l-threonate, ginko biloba
