Tremors, shaking, body vibration, internal trembling

Shanti

Recommended Posts

My whole body is vibrating, even now as I write. It did it all night and it kept waking me up. I felt like I was sleeping on one of those vibrating beds. As I sit here, I feel it in my feet, then my back, random like that. But at night it was my entire body all at once. Has anyone done this? Yesterday I updosed from 18 mg to 20 mg Paxil. I thought for sure I'd get a good nights sleep!

I looked this up online and it seems a lot of people have this and can't pin it to a condition.

Okay, it FINALLY stopped after taking a muscle relaxer, my morning Paxil, and a Vicodin. I don't know which of those helped. Probably the muscle relaxer. But then last night I took a muscle relaxer before bed, so idk.

shanti, my body vibrates before i wake up, then it goes. Then my chest vibrates if i rub it. so weird!

Do you think it's wd related? Or may it be other type of energy...

Pax, I think it could be energy related. I've had this before in the past, years ago. I forgot about it. When you look it up online, no one knows what it is and they suspect so many different things. Maybe it's from the Reiki. If so, then I'll take it as a good sign.

Here are a few quotes from Reiki and Energy

Human beings are also comprised of electromagnetic energy. Every cell, atom, and subatomic particle that makes up the human body is vibrating at different rates depending on their biochemical make-up. Electrical output of different organs can be measured e.g. the heart with the E.C.G. machine, the whole body with an electro-myograph. The normal biological frequency for the human body is around 250 cps (cycles per second)

....Therefore it can be said that healing energies like Reiki raises your vibrations and from the abovementioned there is scientific evidence to prove that this is the truth and by taking a look at the Human Energy Body we can get a better idea of this concept

As we already know everything is energy and your physical body is merely the part of you that vibrates the slowest and can therefore be felt and seen as visible physical matter.

I don't know why I didn't think of energy vibration from the Reiki. This is most likely what it's from, as my mom gives me Reiki treatments in the evening.

Many people have reported a sense of internal vibration or shaking in the middle of the body.

This may be radiating from the vagus nerve, a central juncture in the autonomic nervous system.

Acupuncture may help, have you tried it?

ajnjj...when I decrease or get off an AD, I get a sensation of a shaking in my head. It feels as if my brain is not attached to my skull. It was not a prominent symptom, but when it happened it was like what is up with this.

I have seen people with hand tremors and yes I have read posts about internal shaking.

Hope it passes soon

Hugs

Thanks guys. I tried acupuncture Alto, it was awful. I didn't like it. I try to ignore this symptom because compared to the other symptoms its a walk in the park lol funny thing, when they thouht I had MS , they sent me to a prestigious MS specialist. She ran many tests and concluded that I had an "overactive" highly sensitive central nervous system. Not MS. Interesting.

Oh yeah, I have tremors!!

My husband says I shake so hard in my sleep since going off Sam-e that it wakes him up some nights. He thought I was having a seizure, but he watched me for a while and says I am not in distress and don't stop breathing. Apparently I shake for a good minute or two and then stop. I don't wake up and told him not to wake me up (heck, I take any uninterrupted sleep I can get!). I never had this before and attribute it to the antidepressant-withdrawal type reaction I am experiencing since last October when I quit cold turkey.

I talked to a doctor about it and she said it was not so abnormal, a parasomnia. I was an active sleepwalker as a kid, and talk and laugh in my sleep as a grownup, so not anything to worry about.

I also have had lots of Parkinson's like tremors in my hands and feet. I notice when I took omega supplements it made them much worse. Even eating salmon gave me crawly hands and twitchy feet. I could rest my hands on a table and watch them move involuntarily for several minutes at a ttime. It was quite disturbing to watch and scared the heck out of me for a while. Thankfully, that seems to be passing now. Are you taking fish oil supplements? They also made my sleep very lousy, like an awake kind of dreaming and I wake up a lot when taking them.

I do take fish oil, how would I know if I'm reacting badly to them? I feel like I have a bad reaction to everything but then I think maybe its not what I'm putting in my body maybe its just my brain . Sometimes its like my brain shifts. Sometimes my vision jumps. Sometimes everything feels sideways, even like I'm walking slanted. It's awful. I have tried everything. It feels hopeless sometimes and I refuse to see any more docotrs for it. It's like a constant suffering.... With a smile on ny face for my babies. A constant battle in my head to stay strong, leaving me completely exauhsted.

Everything was ok. And then it wasn't.

I used to get this a lot AJ. I've used Agaricus Muscarius 30C homeopathy for it and it helped me a lot.

I was suspected of having MS too but no lesions appear on MRI. I never got to see a specialist. I would just love to be able to see a Neurologist even.

There are no neurologists around that will see me as I have no insurance. Well, I have Medi-Cal but they don't accept it.

Yes, I have wonderful success with homeopathy for many symptoms. Here's a link to a topic and also you can see my website in my signature.

I think the slanted vision and tremors are all collectively part of withdrawal, but I try to see each symptom individually. For me, the vision effects are the hardest to go. The tremors go when I back off the omegas. I also had bloody noses from the fish oil, it was thinning my blood too much so I knew it was time to back off. You might try taking two weeks off and assess whether your tremors calm down or not. They do come and go for me.

I know what you mean about putting on a smile for your babies. I have a four & six year old that make me have to get through this. Hugs to you, I hope you have a good window soon to remind you that your old self is possible in that foggy brain called withdrawal. It sucks, but I do believe it will lift, albeit VERY slowly.

I was in camp with a woman ho experienced profound vibrations, tremors for weeks. She had "external" tremors as well as a wobblsiness. Her whole body seemed to vibrates, as I recall, but it was most noticeable in her hands and arms.

anjnjj, it sounds like it's a rough go right now for you. If possible could you add your history to your signature. This post has instructions.

Keep hanging in.

If you have muscle spasms, taking magnesium can help.

...when they thouht I had MS , they sent me to a prestigious MS specialist. She ran many tests and concluded that I had an "overactive" highly sensitive central nervous system. Not MS. Interesting.

Well, that vague conclusion sounds fairly accurate, at least.

That sounds like a bit of good news, Shanti.

I had tremors when I first stopped Zoloft and occasionally since stopping. This week, however, they have seemed to come back...especially last night. I think it may have something to do with what I ate. I have been eating medium spicy salsa since sunday. Last night, I felt tremor & internal vibrations so bad I got nervous. I'm wondering if the salsa has something to do with it...

Dec 2004 - Put on Zoloft after having a panic attack from the Birth Control Ortho Evra Patch (the doctors thought I was completely insane when I told them I think the Birth Control Patch is giving me anxiety/panic. Funny how they tell you NOW that Birth Control can indeed cause anxiety) Started at 25mg, increased to 50 mg and 100 mg in 2007. They made me too sleepy so decreased back to 50mg until 2009. Reduced to 25 mg in 2010.

Oct 2010 - Decided to come off Zoloft to try and have children. Didn't know anything about tapering because apparently, my doctor didn't know about it either. WDs included heart palpitations, dizziness, tinnitus etc. Decided to go back on Zoloft within 2 weeks of stopping.

January 2011 - Knowing a little more about tapering, I decided to stop taking taking Zoloft with my doctors help again. She told me to hurry and taper in 4 weeks because the tinnitus could become permanent. I thought this was too fast so I took another month to taper.

March 30, 2011 - Last Zoloft pill.

Had a little dizziness & sadness, but felt fine until Aug 2011 after a relative died.

Since then symptoms include brain shivers, migraine headaches on right side of head, warm/hot sensations on right side of head and ears, internal vibrations, tremor, muscle twitches, strange sensations in right side of head, anxiety, nervousness, sadness, disconnected, depersonalization, numbness on left side of body at times, neck pain, muscle/rib cage pains,  just don't feel like myself :(

Dani,

That's something I do often, think its something I eat or drink. I'm always like, maybe it was the nuts, maybe the iced tea, then I basically stop eating for a week to try to rule anyhting out. its an awful way to live. My internal body vibrations - lol - are quite annoying, I try to deep breathe to calm it down....doesn't work most if the time. Sigh.

Everything was ok. And then it wasn't.

Hiya,

I occasionally have the strange feelings in the back of my head, but not nearly as much as before. I just told myself that those sensations were my brain healing. I did not take the prozac mainly because I was too darn scared. I was told by Alto that I had a 50/50 shot of it working...but knowing my odds, I was just too apprehensive.

It takes time. Some days I feel okay, but others are not so good. I've been off Zoloft nearly 13 months now. I can't wait until full recovery one day.

Hello all! I posed this question in the introductions page of my story but not sure If I am meant to post new symptoms here! Forgive me for my naivety and uselessness!

Another symptom that I am experiencing that I forgot to say is that I've been getting slight tremors in my arms and legs, like shivers. But I'm not cold! It is obviously a back room conspiracy between big pharma and clothes stores to increase the sales of their wooly coats! How dare they!

Its true! after quitting cold turkey after 6 weeks this has appeared recently! I have become a quivering wreak of a mockery of a man! I put people with early onset hypothermia to shame!

Thanks for reading!

Hello, Cookson.

This forum is for discussion of symptoms that many people might share.

You say you're not cold? Do these tremors happen at any specific time of the day?

Many people find magnesium to help with muscle-related symptomshttp://survivingantidepressants.org/index.php?/topic/1300-magnesium-natures-calcium-channel-blocker/

Fish oil supplements are also helpful, seehttp://survivingantidepressants.org/index.php?/topic/36-king-of-supplements-omega-3-fatty-acids-fish-oil/

No the only coldness I'm experiencing is that of my cold dull personality!

I joke!

Its worse in the evening, a jittery feeling If anything! Is this my nervous system re-calibrating itself you could say?

Is this a good sign? The reason I say this is because this is the first symptom I experienced when starting the medication

Thanks

I am actually taking a fish oil supplement! Along with vitamin D supplement that flagged in the tests I had done that I am chronically low In.

I urge anyone to try vitamin D because 30% of people who are suffering from depression is down to low levels of vitamin D!

Make sure it's vitamin D3, a better absorbed form.

Vitamin D3? Ill look into that.

As If I'm not very stable on my feet? Like I'm learning to coordinate my body again? like If I put my arm out in front of me it quivers? And then sometimes ill get a sudden jolt as a muscle twitches which happens less often. I also feel quite warm and am sensitive to sound? It always seems to guss worse out night its awfull feel like an alien In my own body

Nervous system sensitization often involves heat intolerance. The tremors indicate other instability.

Yes, But I more often of not get a feeling of restless built up energy in my legs? Have been getting these symptoms only very recently.

Look I don't want to sound delirious but I am just a tad freaking out a bit. I feel quite weird and anxious.

Would drinking alcohol help ease it?

I think I have an idea why this is happing. Could I pm you?

I hardly ever have twitches now, I still get the tremors unfortunately! Doesn't seem to be very common the symptoms we are experiencing in the withdrawal scheme of things nice to have someone to relate to.

Its funny just reading your info I've been experiencing a headache on the left side of my head that is sensitive to the touch.

But when I became a man,

I put my childish things away.

Alcohol and other psychoactive substances, such as recreational drugs, tend to make symptoms worse.

Magnesium often helps with that restless leg feeling.

The B vitamins in multivitamins can sometimes cause jumpiness. See if you get symptoms shortly after taking the multivitamin.

Don't necessarily feel any jumpiness I don't think.

Am really starting to feel better-Physically, I'm not worried. Tremors are lessening, feeling a great deal more in touch with reality now.

However psychology I'm still suffering cognitively with my thinking processes and communication.

Although I'm noticing this has got progressively better over the last few days.
