L-Theanine for anxiety, insomnia

Crud. I think I overshot with the theanine.

My anxiety is waning, and I am slipping immediately into depression!

Why can't I catch a break?

Yes, I'm taking it now along with Lemon Balm.  They are usually paired up as a supplement to aid nervous system.

It definitely works.

L Theanine works for me, but it's not as good as something like Baicalin, Skullcap or Ashwaganda (KSM-66).

Skullcap is one of the "components" of my herbal tincture.

L-Theanine works well for me when I have anxiety.   I used to take it pretty regularly when I was coming off of Remeron/Mirtazapine.

Now I take it as needed.

How much did you take when it was needed 150mg or 200mg?

Did it have effect from the 1st day you took it?

@Miko789 , I know you're not directing to your question to me but I can shed some light. 200 - 400mg seems to be my sweet spot, and this is taking Liftmode's L-Theanine.

You can take grams + and it'll have an impact, but I think that 200 - 400mg is probably the most effective dose.

A side effect I've noticed is slight irritability, something that happens 'occasionally' and I've also noticed with things like benzodiazepines or phenibut. Keep in mind, the irritability I notice from L-theanine is markedly less.

When I was taking it regularly, 200mgs, 3x a day.   I took them in 100mg pills.

Yes, it had an effect 20 mins after I first took it.  I was bouncing off the wall from acute wd from Mirtazapine and my psychiatrist recommended it to me.   I went to the health food store bought the L-Theanine and a bottle of water.  Took it standing on the street and after 20 minutes felt calmer.
