Eleven10
Iv started at 2mg in liquid. I read a story on Dr Healy’s risk website about a lady who reinstated Prozac after a while. It initially made things much worse but then when she got up to 30mg she found relief and was back to normal functioning. I dont know if 2 is too high or not high enough. Prozac 17 years 20mg. Eleven10
I’m taking 2mg of Prozac a day and not feeling any worse but no better. In the story I read the lady did not get any real relief until she got 30mg but I’m scared to increase too much. im having terrible tinnitus but it’s been around since the start and iv had times it’s been this bad before so trying not to blame the Prozac. My sleep is still a torturous experience every night. Cannot sleep longer than 1.5 hrs without waking with horrible vivid dreams. My ears scream when I wake. Eleven10
Yes I will. I’m taking 2mg prozac What I have never been able to work out is that if I sleep more I feel much more depressed teary and dizzy. Last night I slept 7 hrs with 3 awakenings and woke up feeling so down, iv always been slow in a morning but it has taken me two hrs to make a cup of tea. I have vertigo and headache pounding as usual and a shower is out of the question. I don’t have the energy to turn the faucet on. i don’t believe in the chemical imbalance rubbish but I do believe I have always had low seratonin levels. Being on Prozac for so long then coming off CT has made it much much worse. The only thing that has slightly improved over the years is the sensory over stimulation. There was a time I couldn’t look out the window at the trees. It was all too green too big too stimulating to my brain. I still have constant light sensitivity which is oddly worse when it’s cloudy to sunny but I can look at views. I beat myself up about what I have done to myself. People say withdrawal is not dangerous but it is. It can be deadly and even if you survive if you have it long term the insomnia, depression and inflammation will increase the risk of many conditions such as dementia, heart disease, diabetes etc. I used to run 25 miles a week have a resting heart rate of 53, work full time and be an excellent mum. It is scary what withdrawal and it’s legacy has done to my body and mind. Prozac 17 years 20mg. Cold turkey Feb 2014 Restarted 2mg of prozac 26.8.18.. Link to comment

Eleven10
If I have a reaction to Prozac what am I looking for. I already feel so terribly ill how would I know. For example before I tried the 2mg I could have days of brain burn where I would be completely unable to function in anyway. The last two mornings I have had bad cortisol/adrenaline surges but I don’t want to put this down to the Prozac as I would get them before. I absolutely despise this drug and what it has done to me but I need to feel relief. im still on 2mg of liquid which is 0.5 ml as 20mg is 5ml I hoped iv worked that out right. Mentor marconyc Posted August 30, 2018 Mentor Share Posted August 30, 2018 Hi Eleven10, I'm so sorry you've gone through this for so long, and I admire your stamina. You deserve relief. Are you able to see a therapist? If you can afford it and have the time and energy to do it, therapy might be helpful. My therapist has been enormously helpful throughout many difficult periods in my life, including the antidepressant withdrawal I'm going through now. Like you, I have been beating myself up for trying to come off of my antidepressant, and therapy has helped me stop doing that as much. I've come to realize that my desire to stop taking meds wasn't reckless; it was reasonable. And my psychiatrist didn't explain any of the risks. It's not your fault that these drugs are so difficult to discontinue. The public has very little information about withdrawal, and psychiatrists are criminally ignorant of the risks. 2000–2015: sertraline 50mg, eventually up to 150mg for most of those years. Prescribed for dysthymia and generalized anxiety disorder. Two major attempts at discontinuing per psychiatrist's tapering advice were failures; each failure resulted in the dose being increased by 50mg. Those were my only increases in dose over the first 15 years 2000–2002: clonazepam .5mg 3x/day, then tapered quickly with no withdrawal Jan 2015–Dec 2016: tapered sertraline from 150 to 50mg (relatively slowly from 150 to 100 and then pretty quickly from 100 to 50); severe withdrawal at 50mg Jan 2017-Aug 2018: increased dose of sertraline from 100mg to 150mg to 200mg/day over the course of a few months per psychiatrist, who also added aripiprazole 1mg/day and clonazepam .5mg 2x/day Found SA; Aug 2018-May 2023: Slowly tapered off clonazepam and abilify from 2018 to 2020; sertraline 200mg/day (200 mgai) Taper: May 2023, 200 mgai; June 2023; 190 mgpw; July 1, 185 mgai; July 29, 181 mgai; Aug 27, 178 mgai; Oct 31, 175mgai; Dec 1, 171mgai; Jan 21, 2024, 168mgpw Link to comment

Eleven10
5 days at 2mg. Going to 5mg Monday. im very activated but I’m pretty sure that’s not the Prozac. The last two nights iv had adrenaline surges at the begging and if of the night. I did not get to sleep until 1.30am then woke regularly until 8am i think the surges may be fear more than meds as a few weeks ago after a bill I couldn’t pay arrived I had the same surges. They had been a constant for the first 3 years but then started to Peter out. im exhausted and feel very desperate i really dont don’t know if I’m doing the right thing messing with a drug that has caused so much pain, maybe because of some genetic vulnerability that will never change. It’s all unknowns but I cannot carry on how I was. Life was not worth living. The pain truly outweighed the hours relief I got here and there. Plus my health was suffering. fingers crossed I have done the right thing Prozac 17 years 20mg. Cold turkey Feb 2014 Restarted 2mg of prozac 26.8.18.. Link to comment
