My thoughts and prayers are with you dear Kristine.  ❤️

Late 2023- gone to emeritus status, inactive, don't @ me, I can check who I've posted on, and I'm not really here like I used to be......thanks.

Started with psycho meds/psychiatric care circa 1988.  In retrospect, and on contemplation, situational overwhelm.

Rounding up to 30 years of medications(30 medication trials, poly-pharmacy maximum was 3 at one time).

5/28/2015-off Adderal salts 2.5mg. (I had been on that since hospital 10/2014)

12/2015---just holding, holding, holding, with trileptal/oxcarb at 75 mg. 1/2 tab at hs.  My last psycho med ever!  Tapered @ 10% every 4 weeks, sometimes 2 weeks to

2016 Dec 16 medication free!!

Longer signature post here, with current supplements.

Herb and alcohol free since 5/15/2016.  And.....I quit smoking 11/2021. Lapsed.  Redo of quit smoking 9/28/2022.  Can you say Hallelujah?(took me long enough)💜

Hi Kristine,

Lovely to hear from you. I was wondering how you were doing. I’m sorry you’re still really unwell. Hope all goes well at the hospital, and you don’t have to have a hysterectomy. A friend of mine is in the hospital at the moment, she had a hysterectomy and she’s so happy that the severe pain she was in has gone.

How are you enjoying the Aussie weather at the moment?  We don’t get a lot of a winter up here where I live but it’s a little cool at the moment and I enjoy sitting in front of the heater, there is a real comfort factor in the warm and glow of the heater when you’re not well. A nice cup of tea is well is pleasant. Coles has a really lovely tea called Bengal Spice, it’s got that real winter warmer feel about it.

Stay cozy and let us know how you get on at the hospital. If I’m well enough I’m hoping to visit my friend in the hospital tomorrow.

Sending hugs🤗

I am thinking about you, Kristine.  I hope you get some relief with the iron infusion and that everything goes smoothly with the procedure today.  Much love and lots of hugs - WR.

-1/06 - 3/07 Cymbalta. Fast taper (essentially CT); withdrawal symptoms after 4 mos (didn't realize was WD)

-10/07: 100 mg Zoloft; 1 mg Klonopin - tapered off Klonopin after 4 mos. Several unsuccessful slow tapers of Zoloft; went up and down in dose a lot

-Spring 2013 back on 1 mg Klonopin to counter WD symptoms; switched over 5-6 mos from Zoloft to 35 mg citalopram
-Two attempts at slow tapering citalopram, always increased dose due to WD; also increased Klonopin to 1.25 mg in 2014, then to 1.5 mg in 2015

-8/17-9/17: After holding one year at 20 mg, feeling withdrawal symptoms due to stress - slowly increased to 25 mg. No change in symptoms after 6 months (? tolerance ?)  - decided to start citalopram taper February 2018 (still on Klonopin 1.5 mg).

Supplements: fish oil; magnesium; vitamin D3; curcumin

Citalopram taper:  2/2018 - 12/2019: 25 mg - 11.03 mg I 2020: 10.89 mg - 7.9 mg I 2021: 7.8 mg - 5.26 mg I 2022: 5.2 mg - 3.36 mg I 2023: 3.3 mg - 1.47 mg 2024: 1/5/24: 1.44 mg; 1/19/24: 1.40 mg; 1/26/24: 1.37 mg; 2/2/24: 1.34 mg; 2/9/24: 1.31 mg; 2/23/24: 1.28 mg; 3/1/24: 1.25 mg; 3/8/24: 1.22 mg; 3/15/24: 1.19 mg

Dearest @Rabe, @Rosetta, @manymoretodays, @Carmie, @FarmGirlWorks, @wantrelief And @Altostrata thank you for all you kind and caring messages of support. Everything ran as smoothly as I could have hoped for at hospital yesterday. Now I just need to recover from this procedure. The anaesthetic has knocked me around a bit but I'm okay. I think the iron infusion has helped but it's a little difficult to assess this at the moment.

Thank you for updating us and letting us know you are ok, Kristine.  It sounds hopeful that you might already be able to tell the iron infusion is helping, I will keep my fingers crossed that it is.  I am, as always, in awe of your strength and courage.  Much love - WR. 💗

So glad to hear that it went smoothly Kristine. Hugs.

2004: Clonazepam and Celexa. 2005 - 2006: Effexor, then increased to high dose, then switched to Valproate and Seroquel. 2007: Wellbutrin + Strattera + Celexa. 2007 - 2008: Wellbutrin + Adderall + Paxil. 2008 - 2012: Wellbutrin + occasional SSRIs when I had worsened "depression", which happened around 4 times, usually after CT of WB. 2012 - 2014: WB + Sertraline, then WB + Pristiq (awful W/D) then WB + rTMS, then ketamine. 2014 - 2016: Wellbutrin 200 mg + Abilify 4 mg + Adderall 20-40 mg + Cipralex 20 mg. Oct 2016: "Tapered" Cipralex, felt outrageously anxious, irritable. Dec 2016: "Tapered" Adderall, then felt depressed, hopeless, fatigued.  Feb 6 2017: reinstated 20 mg Adderall. Mar 2017: switched to Vyvanse, upped to 30 mg. May - Aug 2017: "Tapered" Vyvanse + Abilify to zero. Oct 25, 2017: Wellbutrin from 200 to 100 mg. Sep 10, 2018:  Wellbutrin from 90 to 60 mg. From the bottom of my heart...thank you @wantrelief, @Marmot, @RealMe, @Altostrata, @Rosetta, @Rabe And @Survivor1 for all your beautiful messages...I feel truly blessed to have such amazing support from you all...especially when I have been unable to write on all of your threads...hopefully I'll be well enough in the not too distant future to start writing messages of support to you all soon 💖

@Rosetta, thank you for letting me know my mailbox was full 😊 I've cleared it out a little, it should be good to go 😉

Update: I'll make this short cause it ain't great. Two days after my endometrial ablation procedure I developed a UTI with high fever, chills, sweating and high pulse rate. Unfortunately, I had to take an antibiotic (cephalexin)...today is the last day taking them. I think the antibiotics made my nausea worse but it's hard to say. Anyway, the UTI has resolved. I'm still suffering from debilitating fatigue, very low mood, brain fog, headaches, migraines, nausea, bouts of vertigo and insomnia. The two symptoms that have improved are the muscle weakness and the constant head and ear pressure I was experiencing. So there are some blessings amongst this pile of muck.

As always...the biggest of hugs and love to you all. K xo

Hi Kristine,

Im sorry to hear you ended up with a UTI and the antibiotics made the nausea worse. I hope the nausea settles a bit soon. You may already know about this and may have used it but someone on here mentioned the sea bands a while ago. They are wristbands that push on an acupressure point that helps with nausea.

What works for one person doesn’t always work for another though, I wonder if it’s worth a try?

Sending hugs🤗

Been on APs, benzos, ADs and opiates, for chronic pain. Had Akathisia in the past that made me suicidal. Thank you @Carmie for your kind message. Yes, I do have sea bands. In fact I'm wearing them now! They do help a little with the nausea. I'm also sipping ginger beer and have peppermint oil in my diffuser, both of which are helping a little. Thankfully I have just taken my last antibiotic tablet, so fingers crossed tomorrow is a little less blah 😖 Much Love to you. K xo

How I wish you were doing better than that, dear Kristine, but if the muscle weakness is better that means your iron is better!  Do not feel bad about being unable to write on our threads.  We all understand completely.  Get well! Love, R

I am so sorry for everything you are going through....you are so very brave, Kristine.  I am glad you have found some things to help with the nausea - hopefully that will pass now that you are done with the antibiotics.  As Rosetta said, we all understand your not being able to write on our threads -  just focus on what you need to do to get better.  Thinking about you, as always.  Much love - WR.

Thank you so very much @Rosetta, @wantrelief, @RealMe, @Rabe And @DMV64 for all your kind and caring messages. To be honest your messages have been helping me through a seemingly endless wave which has been made much worse by physical illness. The UTI which I thought had resolved has unfortunately spread to my kidneys. Insert swear word here [.....] My days and nights are challenging. I'm extremely emotionally labile and I've been having days of SI which I thought I had left behind. Anyway, after the roughest of days when I'm drowning in tar soaked quicksand it always improves...no matter how hopeless it all seems at the time of deep turmoil.

To all of you...sending all my love. K 💖 xo

Oh no.....I am so very sorry to read this, Kristine.  I really wish I could make this all better for you.  I want to swear too!  I am really hoping the kidney infection clears up soon and that will help reduce the withdrawal symptoms. I so wish I could be there in person for you....I am there by your side in spirit. You are such an amazingly strong and courageous woman....you will get through this. I am thinking about you, as always, and sending lots of love and hugs - WR. 💗

Man oh man: sorry to hear the latest, @Kristine... a UTI is bad enough, let alone the kidney stuff. But loved reading this. I, too, have been envisioning being at the bottom of quicksand and trying to climb out... love the addition of tar-soaked to the image 🙂

Geez Kristine....how long were you on the antibiotic?  Im assuming they cultured urine first so they targeted the right bug with the right drug....it seems for we women wen we have procedures like that UTIs are often a result.  I am so sorry you are dealing with that on top of everything else!!!

Wanted you to know that I used to get kidney infections repeatedly...and Im still here...but I know they are not fun!!!  I just wanted to offer some encouragement that this WILL get better!!!

Hugs, prayers and love to you Kristine! Rest well!!💜

K xo

Hi Kristine,

Im so sorry your UTI has spread to your kidneys. Hope your nausea has settled a bit.

Yes, it’s certainly an emotional time going through withdrawals. I’m glad the sea bands, ginger beer and peppermint oil help with nausea a bit. It’s a day at a time, isn’t it?
