Hormones all over the place, craving carbs, excess oestrogen and excess cortisol, insulin resistance

Just wondering if any one else's hormones are completely awol. I can't seem to lose weight easily. I crave carbohydrates, I don't know when I feel full anymore and I seem to put weight on my chest (sorry TMI)  my question is does this stuff rebalance itself or do we literally have to work hard at our diet and exercise to rebalance our hormones? Anyone else with these issues?

Yes, I'm "in that place" and it sucks.

For women going through the peri-meno, diet and exercise are very important as our bodies no longer burn the calories that they used to.

The hormones can be re-balanced through HRT.

If I am honest I am only in my late twenties so I don't think it's perimenopause but more thyroid and hormone issues as a result of coming off too quickly. I don't believe in taking a pill to readjust hormones as it's taking a pill that's messed my hormones up to begin with. Does anyone have any natural suggestions or does anyone know that when you recover does this stuff balance itself out?

Have you had bloodwork done to get to the root cause?

No I guess I should do but the root cause is coming off Anti depressants, so I don't feel that going to  the doctors will help me as they can't reupregulate my transmitters. And being  on a load of medication is the last thing I want and my body needs. I have bought a book called the hormone reset diet, which is about healing your hormones via diet and exercise alone. I just wondered if this was a permanent issue or whether this will lift when I fully recover.

Hi @historygal -- Have you had any luck rebalancing your hormones? I'm only in my early 30s so I don't believe I'm in perimenopause. But I'm getting severe hormonal symptoms and I'm not sure where to go from here. Thanks.

Hello it's been one year I cold Turkeyed Sertraline and in last 6 months I have had very severe hormonal issues. Today the doctor told me it might be PCOS. One other doctor has asked me to take insuline resistance test which I will do tomorrow. Did you guys had similar symptoms or diagnosis?

2007-2010 Sertraline(200-400 mg) and Fluxetine 80mg for OCD

2010-2015 Changed many doctors and many medicine but it was mostly Sertraline 100mg-200mg and some tranquilizers for sleep

2015-2019 mostly Sertraline lower doses (50mg -100mg) but bunch of other medicine that I do not really remember.

August 2019 -Jan2020 Ecitalopram 10mg

Jan 2020-June 2020 Sertraline 50mg

June 2020-Oct 2020 (Cold Turkey) tried to suddenly stop Sertraline 50mg but had anxiety attacks

Oct 2020- March 2021 Sertraline 75mg

April 2020- Cold Turkey
