Mentor RachelSusan Posted October 13, 2017 Mentor Share Posted October 13, 2017 Andy, Was that information from Shep posted here on your thread? I would very much like to read it. It was an ah-ha moment for me. Because of my steroids I've been using Prilosec as well. My going off of it corresponds with the last two and a half months of what I'll call "withdrawal whiplash." I am back on the Prilosec again, so does that mean the zoloft is building up in my body? If so, I wonder the best way for me to proceed. Should I try and cut the Prilosec down slowly? Anyway if you have any links to the Prilosec information I would appreciate it. I will also start a google search now. RS I am not a health professional in any way. I do not give medical advice. Mentor RachelSusan Posted October 13, 2017 Mentor Share Posted October 13, 2017 Thank you Andy. I found the article using your link and I found the information you suggested I look up here on surviving antidepressants. You know I was directed by my doctor to take the Priolsec along with the steroids. My doctors all know about my zoloft problem and while some are more believing than others it's still a lesson to me that the medical community doesn't know what this monster is. I also used the drug interaction checker on the internet prior to taking the Priolsec and there was nothing listed there. My failing was that I didn't list it in my signature nor did I check this on our website here. Just another reminder to me that I have to be my own advocate and that I have to be even more vigilant. bromor
Andy, I'm so sorry to hear of the intense pain. In my very humble opinion, an updose is not needed... I think your body is completely hyperstimulated due to everything that has happened in your life the past 9 months. The shoulder pain ect. ~ could be from your gallbladder/liver. A/Ds are notorious for causing those types of issues. I would see what you could do naturally. start taking milk thistle and beet for your liver & gallbladder. See about getting a massage for your muscles. And above all, tell yourself to Stop and Choose to change your thinking. You are healing. This is just your body reacting to being under so much stress for so long. Remain calm and allow your body to heal. Yes, I know... sounds so very easy to do. But reality is that it's very hard work. I know, I've been doing it!! Accept that stress/anxiety/fear just wreak havoc on your body....and that you can heal....and that the healing will take time. More time that you would like ~ yet, it will happen. Sending up some prayers for Peace & healing for you, my friend. On Zoloft for 10 years (50 mg) for GAD & panic attacks Weaned off fall of 2013, terrible set back in Feb '14 back on 100 mg & trazadone to sleep. Did CT off of Zoloft in May 2014 - bad decision! Back on 50 mg Zoloft & Xanax as needed (was upped to 75 mg by doctor in Feb 2015) Started to wean off of Zoloft in April 2015 ~ totally off Zoloft in Oct 2015 and now am on Buspar 11.25 mg to help. July'17 - 2 mg, Sept 1 mg. Oct'17 - off! Done! bromor
Hello there. How are you feeling? Pain any better? Did you updose or just stay the course? bromor
The metallic taste can also be linked to gall bladder...I know you don't want to take anything else... BUT! beets are so good for your gall bladder. They're natural & if you don't like to juice or eat them, you can take in capsule form. I found the Standard Process supplement to be so helpful when I had a gall bladder attack. anyway, I don't mean to "mother" you... The body pain is a daily companion for me. I know it's just from my body being hyperstimulated for so very long. I ignore it the very best I can. (and make frequent use of heating pads & ice). Hope you feel better very soon... Mentor RachelSusan Posted November 17, 2017 Mentor Share Posted November 17, 2017 Hi Andy, I stopped by to thank you. During my last wave I reached out for advice and you gave it to me. It was great advice. I was considering up-dosing. You reviewed my history and suggested that instead I just hold. Thank you so much. I am now out of a difficult 3 month wave and very glad I'm where I am with my medication. So many people do need to up-dose an then have to taper over the same ground again. It must be heartbreaking for them. Thank you again for being my voice of reason. I know you are going through some difficult times with your symptoms. It must be heartbreaking for them. In addition to being emotionally difficult, it is also a challenge from a taper perspective because the more you are forced to jump up and come down and jump up again, the more likely you are to have additional problems downstream. Whether one refers to this as "kindling" or simply acknowledges it can create more issues, I am a big fan of someone at least trying a hold to see if they improve as opposed to panicking and jumping right back up in dose. 4 minutes ago, RachelSusan said: I know you are going through some difficult times with your symptoms. Hope your Thanksgiving was a good one. How is the burning mouth symptom? Thanks for checking in, B. My holiday was nice, thanks. Had a houseful of people on the holiday with a ton of food and dishes (that was my contribution). Wound up doing a last minute trip to a party in NY the Saturday after Thanksgiving. Up and back in 28 hours. Thought I would suffer but did OK so I'm thankful for that. I plan on doing an update later this week when I have more time, but overall I'm still hanging in there. The burning mouth is still an issue and the one thing that really helps is chewing gum so I'm "chain-chewing". My jaw hurts and it's not withdrawal -- it's all the gum. Anyway, thanks for checking and I'll post later this week. To be honest, B, I'm pretty sure that this IS a withdrawal symptom. I think some people get this condition without any underlying condition causing it, but when you have something like withdrawal that is causing all kinds of strange neurological symptoms, it seems only logical that burning mouth, another neurological symptom, is also a manifestation of the withdrawal process. I hope it is because that means it should have a limited duration.
