Moderator Emeritus ChessieCat Posted September 2, 2020 Moderator Emeritus Share Posted September 2, 2020 Because you are taking fluoxetine which has a long half life you might notice an uptick in symptoms a week or more down the track. However because of the long half life ,and because you are on a low dose, you might not notice anything. At least you know that you messed up your dosing so you will understand what is happening if you notice a difference. * NO LONGER ACTIVE on SA * MISSION ACCOMPLISHED: (6 year taper) 0mg Pristiq on 13th November 2021 ADs since ~1992: 25+ years - 1 unknown, Prozac (muscle weakness), Zoloft; citalopram (pooped out) CTed (very sick for 2.5 wks a few months after); Pristiq: 50mg 2012, 100mg beg 2013 (Serotonin Toxicity) Tapering from Oct 2015 - 13 Nov 2021 LAST DOSE 0.0025mg Post 0 updates start here My tapering program My Intro (goes to tapering graph) VIDEO: Antidepressant Withdrawal Syndrome and its Management Link to comment
Greenriver
Unfortunately whilst camping three weeks ago, I kept my bottle of Prozep liquid in the tent. It should not be stored in temperatures above 25 degrees Celsius. Due to the heat, the temperature in the tent got very high (def above 25) and I'm now experiencing pretty bad withdrawal symptoms. I've only dropped down 2.5% to 2.34mg. That was over two weeks ago; it's my first drop in months. I also rather stupidly kept my Prozac liquid in the kitchen cupboard the past month which can get very hot due to the cooker (I use the cooker daily and it's a very small kitchen). Anyway, looks like I'll have to postpone tapering for a couple of months now until I stabilise. My question is, can Prozep liquid be kept in the fridge? It doesn't state anywhere on the bottle to do this, just to store at temperatures below 25 degrees Celsius, which isn't always easy to do due to summer heat and central heating during the winter. Past four years: Fluoxetine, 10mg; currently tapered down to 2.8mg. Diazepam, 5mg, once daily (goes up to 8mg sometimes during taper). 1999-2016: Mainly sertraline but also Venlafaxine and Paroxetine. 31 Oct: discontinued Fluoxetine. 1 Nov 2019: started Sertraline, 12.5mg, once every two days. 13 Nov 2019: Reinstated Fluoxetine due to adverse effects from Sertraline. Plan to start Citalopram once stabilised on Fluoxetine Link to comment

One option would be to buy a small polystyrene box to keep it in. Once upon a time you used to be able to buy polystyrene boxes with a handle which held 6 cans of drink. Not sure if they are still available. Probably not now because they are not eco-friendly. You might be able to get one from a craft store. If you can't get one the right size you could buy sheets of polystyrene and make your own. I think you can glue it with PVA wood glue. Examples: Polystyrene-Shapes-Oval-Box-White Polystyrene-Shapes-Pirate-Chest-White You'd have to cut out the centre of this one.
Greenriver
Cheers, that's a good idea. From what I can see online, they are still available in the UK anyway. It was actually quite distressing for a few days there. I was in full blown withdrawal from what appeared to be a 2.5% drop from 2.4mg to 2.34mg. Greenriver
Is anyone having trouble sourcing 0.5ml oral syringes? I last bought them on the internet around six months ago and have run out. I can't seem to find them anywhere now. Past four years: Fluoxetine, 10mg; currently tapered down to 2.8mg.
