I did as you suggested. And ordered from Amazon only to have them tell me they couldn’t get it.
I contacted my local pharmacist who now tells me you can’t get .125mg anymore as they stopped making it.
now I have to go to .25 mg tablet and split it. (I previously took .125mg oral dissolving tablet twice a day).
I already feel like I’m having withdrawal symptoms from using a different manufacturer of .125mg ODT which I had to use for last 2 weeks.
I’m just putting this info out there in case someone else is using .125mg ODT of Clonazepam.

March 2023 - Nortriptyline 60, Mirtazipine 2.25mg (tapering since last Mar), Clonazepam.125 BID

April 2023 Mirtazipine at 1.85mg

May 2023. Increase Mirtazipine back to 2.25mg because I was getting bad anxiety

August 18 2023 started Hydrocortisone at 20 mg/ day, reduced to 15 mg August 26 because Dr wasn’t sure if it was raising blood pressure because I was getting mild headaches.

August 21 Liquid Nortriptylin 10mg replaced the 10mg capsule

July 2024 Nortriptylin 50mg, Mirtazipine 2.25mg , Clonazepam .125 BID

I don’t know how much more I can withstand. I had. These early morning Cortisol spike fill me w dread for most of the morning and so,etimes longer. I can’t remember any day in past 2 years where I woke and felt normal like I used to. I have to force myself to go thru the day masking my depression and anxiety. Sometime I give in to crying like now.

I am now on 3.75 Mortazapine, 1.25 Clonazepam twice a day, and 58 mg Nortriptyline ( which I am reducing at very slow rate as my doctor thinks it’s causing Orthostatic Hypertension). And I want to get off this stuff before I die. I’ve been through 5 years of distress and am so ready for relief. And I have learned to go very slow.

I guess I’d just appreciate if there’s anything I can do to reduce these morning horrors.
thank you

Can you update your signature to reflect your current medication and dosages?

We have a thread on morning cortisol spikes at Early-morning waking - managing the morning cortisol spike. Have you tried keeping your bedroom as dark as possible upon wakeup?

I also had the Stellate Ganglion Block but it did not work for me either. It makes a ton of sense and has great results for PTSD (85% success rate) but when the nervous system is so destabilized from WD the "reset" doesnt seem to have impact. Its seems like the only "solution" is time

2023-24 Held 1.6mg since Dec '23.

2023 Started 20mg Beta Blocker but it didnt help (tried getting off and it made things worse)

2023 Moved to .5mg in 8/23, Moved to 1.5mg in 7/2023, Moved to 2.5mg in 7/2023

2023 Reinstated Fluoextine 5.0mg in 7/2023 to stabilize

2023 Stopped Fluoextine after .1mg in 1/2023; Significant w/d symptoms started 6-8mths of last dose

2021-2023 Tapered off Fluoextine starting at 5.0mg (cuts averaged around 40%)

2018 Switched to Fluoextine 5.0mg

2016 Started Effexor 18mg (Dr. advice to offset Ativan w/d). Effexor eventually "pooped out"

2016-2017 Ativan stopped cold turkey after using for 3mths; Severe w/d symptoms for 9mth

2015 Started .625 Amitripyline for GI condition (still on this)

2012-13 Quit Effexor 37.5mg (cuts averaged 20%...tried a two week taper at first that was hell); No w/d symptoms & quit in 2013 with zero problems

2002 Started Effexor 37.5mg for ADD (Dr. switched from Ritalin for ADHD)

I was so disappointed because of its success rate w PTSD which I have. But you’re probably right in that the CNS is too destabilized. I know this because for 3 years I’ve been getting thos early morning cortisol surges. They are debilitating. It takes me all morning to recover. Also, a myriad of other symptoms make it clear my CNS is working hard to try and heal. One thing that does help is ending my shower w a cold one for about 2-3 minutes. It just shifts my mood

explanation on internet

“Our findings showed that participants felt more active, alert, attentive, proud, and inspired and less distressed and nervous after having a cold-water bath. The changes in positive emotions were associated with the coupling between brain areas involved in attention control, emotion, and self-regulation.”

id say that helps 75% of time.

My neurologist would like me to taper off the Clonazepam (K) because of real concern for cognitive injury. (In fact his practice recommends avoiding any CNS Depressants meds, e.g. Benzos, antihistamines or other sleeping aids with Benadryl because they increase risk of dementia.) of course, I’m extremely concerned about this and I have experienced a few incidents.

I would like to start Benzo taper. I am on 2 other ADs listed in signature. I was about to restart a taper on Mirtazapine but feel K taper is more important due to dementia risk. I will let Nortriptyline stay as is for now.

Does this make sense then to taper the Benzo as to not continue any more?

I tried to update my signature but wasn’t accepted because it violated some rules. I’ll put it here as maybe one of managers could do it for me.
Also, how do you “private message”?
