Don't Feel Right

 

I tapered off venlafexine. 29 days ago and my depression is worse than ever.

 

This is how I felt before meds and many times while on meds.

 

This is my 3rd time stopping an antidepressant. Every time it's bad for me.

 

This is not just life's difficulties I have clinical depression and I don't know what to do.

Q:  Are you still taking clonazepam?  If yes, how often do you take it?

You say you "tapered off" but it was really a cold turkey.  Look back at the history of your stops and starts.  To me what you are experiencing sounds more like withdrawal symptoms from the cold turkey of venlafaxine. 

 

2017- 2022 effexor 37.5

June 5 2022- no meds

July 12 2022 - 12.5 Pristiq

July 16 2022 stopped Pristiq

July 28 2022 - 25mg IR venlafexine

No it's not, it wouldn't save my signatute

I tapered down to 1ml liquid over the month of Aug. My last dose was Sept 3. 

I only take clonapin as needed.

This is exactly how I felt before I ever took any meds at all. And during the time I took meds.

If you think this is still withdrawal, what can I do to help it? I cannot live this way. It won't end up good

Please describe more about how your current spells of "depression" feel to you. Do any particular thoughts precede these spells, or do they come out of the blue?

I take clonazepam as needed

I also have chronic insomnia since childhood which worsens my depression

Thoughts of all my abuse and dysfunctional life always make me feel immense deep dark abyss of sadness. Wishing I was dead

 Complete failure at life. Crying all the time

Just like I've always had. A lifetime of sorrow. Can't hold a job, or relationship.

One adverse effect of benzos can be "depression". However, it sounds like you might benefit from psychotherapy or other counseling, to put your painful past in its place. Are you seeing a therapist?

I might take clonazepam 1-3x a week when im really struggling with sleep

I've had these feelings long before I started any meds

I've been seeing a counselor for years

Of course! Your past is your past, it will never change. You might ask your counselor if you could try a different technique in your therapy.

 

How did these feeling change after you went off 25mg venlafaxine cold turkey?

I didn't go cold turkey. I tapered down to 1ml

Please add the dates and doses and also include the last dose you took to your drug signature.  It currently says 25mg venlafaxine, so we do not know what sized reductions your made and when you made them.

You will need to condense it. The first 4 lines can all go one after the other separated with a ;

How did you feel after you switched from Pristiq to Effexor? Did you have any withdrawal symptoms while tapering Effexor?
