BelaLugosi Posted June 11 Share Posted June 11 So many of us suffering from everyday symptoms from medication side effects or withdrawal sindrome would like to see more talk and representation of our struggles on pop culture. Despite the fact of more people suffering not being exactly good news, the political aspect of this stories being told is considered important for us, and it can start with the perception of these celebrities that seem to be “lobotomized”, looking and sounding very different of who they were before. The curiosity about how many cases of psych drug harm are happening but not actnowledged it’s also something that motivates this discussion. The stars Amanda Bynes and Britney Spears have both been considered mentally ill in anbiguous situations and gone through conservatorships that forced them to take psych medication, among other abuses. Do you guys agree with the perception that medication changed them forever? What aspects of these stories catched your attention?
