Doing ok. It’s still a struggle. Thanks for checking in!!

How are you doing today?

I’m sorry you’re still struggling but pushing forward!  I’m okay, had mostly a great day yesterday until around 5-7pm bad akathisia sets in.  I did a lot yesterday so just trying to chill today.  Hope you continue to move forward and heal.

Started tapering Paxil 20mg July/August 2023.  Got to 5mg January 2024 and started to have vision issues from Withdrawal.  February 2023 severe withdrawal issues started, reinstating to 10mg Tuesday March 5th.  Plan on trying to stabilize at 10mg.

8/19/24 2% decrease 9.8mg

9/15/24 9mg (accidental 10% drop)

That’s good that yesterday was mostly great for you. I sometimes get a couple hours that are good and it’s like a tease because I know it’s short lived.

Enjoy your chill day as best you can!!

What is the magnesium everybody uses here? Is the brand Calm acceptable?

I had a bad reaction to Glycinate. I CAN take small amounts of mag citrate (calm). Not sure if it helps anything that I can pinpoint. But, since most are deficient, I take 1/4 scoop (100 mg) in my water in the morning. Perhaps start with 25 mg or so. Ease into it.

Glad to hear you are coping and hanging in there @Willy

Zoloft 25 mg (Jan 2016)

50 mg (Feb 2016)

Off Zoloft for second pregnancy (2019)
Back to Zoloft 75 mg (Sept 2019)

Down to 25 mg for third pregnancy (2020) 50-> 75 mg ->100 mg (Jan 2023)

Felt good for long while so reduced to 75 (Nov 2023). Back up to 100 after some symptoms of anxiety (Dec 2023)

125 (Dec 2023) didn’t help so->150 (Feb 2024) Horrible reaction (almost psychosis)
Doc suggested lowering Z and adding buspar. Started 2.5 mg 3x per day same day at going down to 125 mg Z.  then to 100 a week later.
Found SA, stopped the madness.
(April 2024) 87.5 mg

(August 31, 2024) 84.6 mg

(Current: Natural Calm: 200 mg per day in water, 0.5 mg melatonin)

Another day and struggling continues. Depression, anxiety, tinnitus, nausea, extreme fatigue, dizziness are the worst symptoms currently. Trying to power through it. My mind continues to go down the path that I’m stuck like this for year’s because of how much drugs I’m on. Also the fact I can’t do anything to speed this up. Totally helpless.

For the most part it’s been the same symptoms I mentioned above just the intensity has ticked up on some days. I don’t have much history to notice patterns since I’ve only been tapering a couple weeks but it seems like my worst days happen 4-5 days after I reduce dosage

@Willy I was hoping you would be able to do a straight 10% if there was no symptoms. You are very sensitive so slow is good.

I drink ginger tea for nausea and a chamomile/lavender tea for calming. I know chamomile is not good if you have ragweed allergies. I know some herbs are adaptogens and can cause issues. Ginger has helped me immensely.

I just don’t know if tapering is causing/worsening my symptoms because I already had them before I started the taper. Very depressing situation.

Sorry to hear. After tomorrow's cut see how you feel in a week. It might be worth holding at that point for the 2 weeks. Not everyone can do the 2.5%.

Sometimes you have to find your sweet spot -2% might be worth trying.

I am wondering if you took seroquel and mirtazapine at least 2 hours apart if that would help since they have a possible interaction.

I totally get this 100%. I have seen it suggested before but the drug is in your blood stream anyway.

Best not to change more than necessary.

Just hope you could get some relief and soon. 🙏

Depression, anxiety, tinnitus, nausea, extreme fatigue, dizziness, buzzing in brain and ears, loss of weight are slowly wearing me down. Everyday is torture being stuck at home completely disabled not knowing if this will lighten up. Laying on couch or bed all day is starting to ruin my physical health and any exercise makes symptoms worse. I don’t know how I’m going to handle this for years and if symptoms continue to worsen I’m pretty much doomed. All I do is try to survive each day just hoping a little relief is coming.

@Willy I find distraction is huge to get me through the day. I read alot using the library app Libby. I walk on a treadmill at whatever pace my body allows for 20 minutes a day. I try to walk in nature 30-60 minutes daily. (Very leisurely) I play mindless games on my phone.

For nausea, I drink ginger tea daily and when it's really bad-ginger chews.

It will level out and get better.

Have you read Claire Weekes or tried some CBT?

Despite your suffering, you have been so amazing encouraging others. Please read the success stories. ❤️

Yes and yes. Pdoc had me do CBT after I CT benzo. It didn’t help. He also didn’t believe I was in severe wd from the CT. I’ve just never been a good patient in the psychiatric world. I, like many others , should have never been introduced to “mental health care”. There was nothing wrong with us that required the use of these meds or therapy treatments. My attitude toward the mental health profession is beyond poor. I just don’t want anything to do with it. I want off these drugs and if I survive I’m going to spend the rest of my life educating others about the dangers of these drugs. Sorry for the rant

I really hope you’re having a good day @LostInCanada. Always appreciate your encouraging words!

Relief is on the way!  Just take it one day at a time, when you feel well enough go for a light walk.  Get out in the sunlight if you can, try not to sit inside all the time!  It gets depressing inside so on my bad days I sit in my backyard for as long as I can.  The sun & fresh air helps so much.
praying for you to have some better days soon!

Sorry for the rant

It's all good. I totally get it. I took a CBT when I had cold turkey'd and thought it was pretty useless but then I found a few things that worked for me to deal with the anxiety of WD. Mostly deep breathing and some grounding as well as cold water on my hands and face.

I know you are angry, so am I. I read something that resonated with me though....you can either be angry or you can heal. The two don't work together. So for now I try to put my energy into healing. Though a good rant and cry doesn't hurt once in awhile. 💯

Anger is something I’m working on. I’ve always been a chill beach bum guy. Anger was never a part of me. Now I’m angry at myself for allowing this to happen and angry at the doctors. I definitely would rather heal than be angry so thanks for that LIC. I’m still coming to terms with my situation and accepting it.

Thanks, I hope so too, I actually rode my horse last night, which is crazy because I was tremoring and dizzy but when I’m on her I don’t think about my symptoms and it was liberating.  I’m at the point where I just say screw it and try doing stuff until I can’t anymore.

we are fishing people too, and I miss the beach and fishing, I haven’t been far from home in months though.  The beach would be healing right now but it’s also to hot.  I’m trying to get used to this new life also and it sucks but this is what we need to do to heal.  Hope down better days for both of us.

I hope you’re right. I won’t survive years of this. It’s too much. I think it’s incredible how long you and others here have been battling this. Very strong people. On another note, I had several family members over at the house today and I get really tired of everyone trying to tell me how to recover. They have no clue what I’m dealing with and how long the tapering takes. They all suggested if I did this or that then I would feel better in a week. They think I need to work with a Dr and not this forum. People just don’t understand unless you’ve lived it. Oh well….take care and good luck with your taper!

They have no clue what I’m dealing with and how long the tapering takes.
