Willy: Currently in Paxil poop out withdrawal and thinking of cold turkey quitting all meds. I can’t take it anymore. Any help appreciated

@Willy do you think things have gotten worse or the same since your taper?

You just have to get through today. Tomorrow might be better.

Do you notice if the symptoms spike within an hour or so of taking any of the drugs?

I so hate these drugs and uninformed pill pushing doctors.

Sending hugs.🙏

Some days things are worse and some days are bearable. The end of this week was a little better and today not so good again. I don’t notice any spike in symptoms after taking meds. Just really tired of the rollercoaster ride of symptoms and I’m only just beginning the tapering process. I’m terrified the bottoms going to fall out and I can’t handle it.

I hope you continue healing as peaceful as possible!

@Willyyou can hold on the taper. You can try to stabilize a little longer if needed. Or you can taper a smaller percentage.

Slow is good. 👍

Last week was my best week in a long time. So far this week has been better as well. I’m in a nice window that I hope continues. It’s by no means perfect but I will take it as it gives me hope that things are improving.

I hope you’re hanging in there I know you’ve been struggling. You’ll feel better one of these days just keep plowing ahead.

Oh my goodness, this brings tears to my eyes, and mostly because I’m an emotional wreck lately lol but I could not be happier to read this for you!!!!! I’ve definitely still been in a bad wave, but I’m pushing through. Again, I’m so glad you finally got some relief!!!

@Willy been following your story for a while. So glad to hear this 👏

Zoloft 25 mg (Jan 2016)

50 mg (Feb 2016)

Off Zoloft for second pregnancy (2019)
Back to Zoloft 75 mg (Sept 2019)

Down to 25 mg for third pregnancy (2020) 50-> 75 mg ->100 mg (Jan 2023)

Felt good for long while so reduced to 75 (Nov 2023). Back up to 100 after some symptoms of anxiety (Dec 2023)

125 (Dec 2023) didn’t help so->150 (Feb 2024) Horrible reaction (almost psychosis)
Doc suggested lowering Z and adding buspar. Started 2.5 mg 3x per day same day at going down to 125 mg Z.  then to 100 a week later.
Found SA, stopped the madness.
(April 2024) 87.5 mg

(August 31, 2024) 84.6 mg

(Current: Natural Calm: 200 mg per day in water, 0.5 mg melatonin)

Hi ive been lurking for a while. I’m in the Paxil poopout club or so I think. I’ve been taking it for 20 something years and have started getting withdrawl symptoms and haven’t even started tapering. This is the most terrifying experience of my life and no one around me understands. How are you reducing? By crushing and weighing? I’m so overwhelmed on how to even start even though I’ve read everything here a million times. I hope you’re doing ok. Seems so scary to start tapering while already experiencing wd symptoms

Paxil 20mg since 2000 (20 years)

September 2001 - February 2003 - Klonopin - half of a .5 mg tablet three times a day

March 2012 - Klonopin - .5mg tablet once or twice a day for two weeks
oct. 2014- cold turkey off of 20mg paxil
November 2014-reinstated paxil 5,10,20mg

June 2020- went down to 22.5mg paxil

august 2020-went down to 20 mg paxil.

Hi. I was terrified about starting the taper while already in wd but I had no choice but to go down. I was continuing to increase Paxil and got up to 40mg before I realized it was poop out. So I knew the drugs were causing my symptoms and made the decision to get off all these drugs starting with Paxil. I’m doing the brass monkey slide method of reducing by 2.5% for 4 weeks then hold for 2 weeks. I’m shaving the pill and weighing. I prepare one week of pills at a time.  I’ve recently began to have some pretty good days which I never had before. I know it’s terrifying to start as it was for me too, but it’s the only way out. Try to keep stressful situations to a minimum if possible and just focus on healing and know that wd is temporary. Things will eventually improve for you as you get your dose down but it takes some time.

I hope this helps and wish you the best. You can beat this. Take care!

What have you been using to weigh and shave your pulls, I got a cheap jewelry scale on Amazon and I’m using my husbands sharp face shaving razor (lol). Do you do it like LIC suggest? 10 at a time and divide that weight? I’m going to do 10 at a time, I have been weighing mine individually and I think I’m getting uneven doses.  I’m about to do a batch today!  I have been back to work the last 3 days, it’s been a struggle but I’m making it.  Hope your day is going well

I use the gem 20 scale on Amazon it’s cheap. I shave pills with those one sided razors. I get a pack of 50 from Lowe’s and throw out after each week so I always have a sharp one. Yeah I weighed 10 pills at the beginning of taper and took the average and have been using that weight from now on. I pre cut one weeks worth of doses every Sunday. I’m glad you’ve been working even though you’re struggling. That’s pretty impressive. Yesterday and today haven’t been too good for me but I made a cut on Monday so hoping symptoms ease soon. This entire situation is so hard to believe that a pill caused all this trauma. Hoping we have better days ahead.

This is why I’m using my husbands good face razors but he doesn’t know lol, he’d probably kill me.  Yes, I’m back to work but only in the mornings when I feel the best (usually) until early afternoon and then I can go home and rest, until I have to make dinner and feed horses.  I actually sat on my horse tonight bareback and just rode around in a circle for 20 mins, I always feel fine riding but when I get off I have this awful motion sickness feeling, but riding is worth it.  I hope my symptoms ease soom soon, as well as yours.  I’m glad your tapering is going decently well.  You see we may be in for a hurricane next week cutting across the state from the gulf?
