Lexapro: 2002-2006 (dose unknown)

Sertraline: 2006-April 2021 (50 mg/day) with exception of 2 failed discontinuation attempts in previous 5 years.

April - Aug 2021 (25 mg/day [half tablet]). Experienced flu-like symptoms in April. Also experienced insomnia and rage/irritability, which eventually subsided. Sept 2021 - Jan 2022 (12.5 mg/day [quarter tablet]). Feb 1-12, 2022 (~10 mg/day). Experienced depression and new onset acute anxiety. Discovered SA.org and realized I was tapering too fast. Feb 13, 2022, dose increased back to 12.5 mg/day to mitigate symptoms. April 2022 (~10 mg/day; switched to liquid formulation). May 2022 (~9 mg/day). Jun-Jul 2022 (~8 mg/day). Aug 2022 (~7 mg/day). Oct 2022 (~6.5 mg/day). Nov 2022 (~6 mg/day). Dec 2022 (~5 mg/day). Holding dose for at least 2-3 months due to crying spells and poor appetite/weight loss. Began taking Mg and fish oil supplements.  March 17, 2023 - increased dose to 6 mg/day. Feeling better. May 17, 2023 - decreased dose to 5.5 mg/day. July 22, 2023 - still haven't stabilized. Experiencing excruciating and unrelenting suffering.  July 28, 2023 - increased dose to 6/6.5 mg/day

August 2, 2023 - increased dose to 7 mg/day due to persistent dread and panic attacks.

October 2023 - increased dose to 10 mg/day.

January 2024 - Still feel bad despite 10 mg/day dose.

@Chlo @Bailey praying for you both

Sertraline 25 mg (Jan 2016)
50 mg (Feb 2016) Down to 25 mg for second pregnancy (2019) 75 mg due to PPA (Sept 2019) Down to 25 mg for third pregnancy (2020) 50-> 75 mg ->100 mg (Jan 2023) Felt good for long while so reduced to 75 (Nov 2023). Back up to 100 after some symptoms of anxiety (Dec 2023) 125 (Dec 2023) didn’t help so->150 mg (Feb 2024) Horrible adverse reaction to 150/kindled
Doc suggested lowering Sert and add Buspar. Started 2.5 mg 3x per day same day at going down to 100 mg Sert.

March- CT’d buspar and dropped down to 87 mg Sert.
Intermittent .25 or .50 Xanax use. Like once a week. Haven’t taken it since April 2024.
Found SA, stopped the madness.
(April 2024) hold at 87 mg -micro tapered a few mg over 1-2 months but should’ve held longer after stabilizing at 87

(8.31.24) 84.6 mg • (9.22.24) 83.9 mg accidental small drop due to scale malfunction; plan to hold here for at least a month.

(Current: Natural Calm: 50-100 mg per day in water, 0.5 mg melatonin nightly)

I need prayer too. Experiencing insomnia and nightmares after forgetting to take the right dose half way in the cycle. Lots of things going and realised on the wrong dose after checking. How did I forget the dose that I had taken for a while? :(

Sep-Dec '12: Cymbalta (60mg), Zyprexa (1.25 mg), Lexappo (5 mg), Wellbutrin SR (150mg); Dec '12-Apr '13: Lithium Carbonate Tab (150mg), Wellbutrin SR (150mg), Rivotril (1mg); May '13-Feb '15: no record; Mar '15-Aug '21: Cymbalta (60mg), Seroquel XR (50mg), Rivotril Tab (0.5mg); Jul-Sep '21: switched from private to government psychiatrist who changed my drugs to Cymbalta (60mg), Quentiapine (50mg)(IR); however, Quentiapine (50mg)(IR) led me to poor sleep; Oct '21: Due to poor sleep, I requested Cymbalta (60mg), Olanzapine (2.5mg), Rivotril Tab (0.5mg, when needed)

Critial Stage: Nov '21-Jan '22: ceased drugs voluntarily in Nov '21. No major issue until a remark triggered my anger. Anger was intense and lasted for weeks. End of Jan-Feb '22: Doctor reinstated me with Cymbalta (30mg) only on 29 Jan '22. However; without Olanzapine (2.5mg), it resulted in poor sleep; End of Feb-Jun '22: after too much poor sleep, doctor replaced Cymbalta (30 mg) with Remeron (15 mg); Jul '22: attempted to tapper off slowly by 10% of last dose. It resulted in weird dreams and poor sleep; Aug-17 Nov '22: Resumed 15 mg dose. My sleep restored and no more weird dreams; 17 Nov-11 Dec '22: Started to wake up after 2-4 hours of sleep, suspected I built tolerance to the drug's effect; 12 Dec '22-May 23: 3-6 hous of sleep, partly due to work stress; Jun-Aug '23: 3.5 to 4.5 hours of sleep; Sep '23-present: take mirtazapine in morning and it resolves my insomnia.

Can someone pray for me and maybe direct me? It’s been a year since WD started and the symptoms have been so extreme and not even waves/windows anymore… just constant torturous waves.. I’ve been through Benzo wd and it was nothing compared to this. No human being can survive these extreme symptoms..…every person has their breaking point. Please direct me to a prayer group or support group that knows WD as I am very close to quitting. I have tremendous faith in God but am very broken and beaten down.

2023-24 Held 1.6mg since Dec '23.

2023 Started 20mg Beta Blocker but it didnt help (tried getting off and it made things worse)

2023 Moved to .5mg in 8/23, Moved to 1.5mg in 7/2023, Moved to 2.5mg in 7/2023

2023 Reinstated Fluoextine 5.0mg in 7/2023 to stabilize

2023 Stopped Fluoextine after .1mg in 1/2023; Significant w/d symptoms started 6-8mths of last dose

2021-2023 Tapered off Fluoextine starting at 5.0mg (cuts averaged around 40%)

2018 Switched to Fluoextine 5.0mg

2016 Started Effexor 18mg (Dr. advice to offset Ativan w/d). Effexor eventually "pooped out"

2016-2017 Ativan stopped cold turkey after using for 3mths; Severe w/d symptoms for 9mth

2015 Started .625 Amitripyline for GI condition (still on this)

2012-13 Quit Effexor 37.5mg (cuts averaged 20%...tried a two week taper at first that was hell); No w/d symptoms & quit in 2013 with zero problems

2002 Started Effexor 37.5mg for ADD (Dr. switched from Ritalin for ADHD)

@ChristopherC I am praying for you! Hold on, even if it's by a thread. Your going to make it, I promise, the Lord is carrying you. Have you heard of Michael Priebe and The Lovely Grind? He and Baylissa Frederick have wonderful support videos on YouTube.

@ChristopherC i understand and can relate very very much to what you are saying. I am praying. Keep coming back and posting. You're not alone.

  • Paxil Reductions: December 2022: Paxil 40 to 30mg (went OK); May 2023: Paxil 30 to 20 mg (went OK); Oct. 14, 2023: Paxil 15mg; Oct. 21, 2023: Paxil 10mg  (done w/ conventional doc -- bottom dropped out 3 weeks later)
  • Nov. 9, 2023: tried reinstating to 20mg but reacted very badly (probably kindling)
  • November 18, 2023: 7.5ml (15mg equivalent) *switch to manufacturer's liquid, Novatium* Doctor switched me to 7.5ml liquid b/c tiny pills were  splitting unevenly - further destabilization by both switching to liquid and changing dose at same time.
  • November 2023 - present: *severe* withdrawal symptoms, akathisia
  • Jan 6 2024 - stopped coffee and all forms of caffeine. Eliminated dairy, processed foods, sugar.  Gluten intolerant so no gluten. Low fodmap diet for gut issues, daily leafy greens, a lot of protein to avoid blood sugar spikes after meals
  • Apr 2 2024 - stopped daily propranolol. Think it was interfering with sleep and causing other side effects.
  • May 23, 2024 - cross taper from mfr. liquid paroxetine to capsule form begun. 5ml liquid + 5 mg capsule (in place of 7.5ml dose of liquid). New doctor (deprescribing type) felt strongly that the mfr. liquid was/is an issue. June 11: 2.5ml liquid + 10mg capsule. June 16, 2024: fully on the capsules now, no liquid.
  • supplements: magnesium glycinate 150mg;  June 17 2024 : switched to magnesium citrate CALM powder to hopefully get things moving; Aug. 10, 2024 - switched back to magnesium glycinate and taking 200mg

Thanks everyone for your prayers. I'm wondering if there's any online meeting here where we meet.

Need prayer. Nervous system symptoms off charts. Yesterday sister screamed at me that I am ruining her life. Not first time. I live with her and have no other options.  It was in context of me finding someone to stay with me so they can take family vacation. I thought I was doing helpful thing. That triggered a tirade of all the ways she feels she's been cheated of life because of me and she ripped me up one side and down the other of how I am ruining  her life. My fragile nervous system can't take it or regulate it.  It feels like I should not exist any longer. Cruel words keep going through mind and also intense rage.  Couldn't sleep and shaking badly. I asked if she would consider caregiver support or 3rd party to help us. I've asked several times. I know it's stressful for her. But she stubbornly says no each time and then takes things out on me in a cruel way. All prayer appreciated that God would calm body and mind. Please pray for sister, too. thank you

Need prayers to help get through this wave. I'm about 12 months post zero on effexsor (venlafexine). This ones a doosy. Lots of anxiety, no sleep, awful cortisol mornings, loss of appetite. Trying to learn acceptance of my situation with WD and that I will have to do this again with the trazadone that I'm on.  Trying not to get discouraged or scared. So I guess I need prayers for a calm mind and body. Thank you so much. Such a blessing to find this thread.

2012 july started prozac (i cant remember dosage)

2013 october tappered off prozac so i could switch to valafexine.

Nov 2013 started valafexine 37.5 day

Dec 2013 went up to 150 mg a day of valafexine (2-75s)

2020-started trazadone 1 50 mg

March 2022 - started tapper valafexine. I would take a 75 mg and cut 1/4 off of the second 75 mg tablet.

July 2023- completely off valafexine

Oct 5th 2023 started 2 25s a day of valafexine Oct 9th went up to 100mg of valafexine a day

Oct 14 went down to 37.5 of valafexine.

Oct 21 started mirtazapine 15 mg and 2- 5 mg buspar

Oct 23 stopped valafexine

Oct 28 stopped buspar

Hang in there, Missy27!

Have you tried magnesium supplements to help you sleep? The SA moderators typically also recommend taking omega 3 fish oils during WD. I also have loss of appetite. Keep eating healthy foods even if you're not hungry.

You are in my thoughts and prayers. I hope a beautiful window opens for you very soon. 🤗💗

Blessings,

Elizabeth

Hang in there, Missy27!

Have you tried magnesium supplements to help you sleep? The SA moderators typically also recommend taking omega 3 fish oils during WD. I also have loss of appetite. Keep eating healthy foods even if you're not hungry.

You are in my thoughts and prayers. I hope a beautiful window opens for you very soon. 🤗💗

Blessings,

Elizabeth

Thank you so much for your prayers @LizzieTish and @Bailey. I appreciate it so much. I tried magnesium many months ago and had a bad reaction because i was still in a hypersensitive state. I've only taken the tablet form of magnesium glycinate. However, Amazon (and others) sell magnesium in liquid and powder formulations.

Best,

I have been following this thread for a few months now and will think and pray for  ALL of you!

I wanted to just quickly post about the magnesium.  I tried many times through my taper, and once off to take magnesium and each time it set me back.  Most recently I did do magnesium and a very tiny dose of melatonin (1/4th a 1 mg tablet) and it did help me through my worst insomnia bout.  The magnesium I tried was glycinate and it was a 100 mg pill.  I have since discovered powdered magnesium by Seeking Health on Amazon and I plan on buying that as you can add tiny amounts and build up over time.  They recommended with any supplement to take a very small dose to begin with and wait to see how you react, then slowly add more.

I haven’t needed either in a few months but my labs did show I’m on the very low side and need to supplement magnesium again.  I hate taking things so I’ve been avoiding it, but when I do start I’ll be using the Seeking Health powdered form. I’ve used a good probiotic and histamine x supplement from their brand and liked it a lot.

I wish you luck and will praying for all on this thread!  🙏♥️

- Prescribed Xanax for 2 weeks after knee surgery in 2016 (reaction to anesthesia)

- cold turkeyed Xanax and was in hospital then bedridden

-  Found Ashton Manuel and crossed over to 15 mg’s Valium

- Tapering off Valium with pills and compound 2016-2018

-  Prescribed Remeron nightly in July 2017 for nausea, loss of appetite, weight loss and mood (1.875 mg’s)

-  Finished Valium taper July 2018

- on mirt from 2017-2021 slowly tapering

- got down to .25 and got very ill, updosed to .50 mgs

-slowly tapered and finished July 2023

-As of January 2024 in acute withdrawals and sleep is the worst!

eed prayers to help get through this wave.

Praying for you!! I experience these exact symptoms as well.

They come and go but mornings are almost always awful. What gets me through this is literally Jesus.

Everytime I cry out to him in desperation ( like literally on the floor in agony) He ALWAYS shows up.

Yesterday I was doing just that, begging for Him to comfort me and take it away and when I tell you something like a blanket of peace came over me!! I jumped up put on makeup and curled my hair because I felt so good..I haven't done that in MONTHS.
It lasted the whole day..I was just a worshipping and praising Him!
Know that He see's us and is with us through all this.
He will give us beauty from ashes.. just keep trusting and bring everything to Him..He is such a good good Father 😭❤️

Originally put on Zoloft 100mg at 12 years old due to living with an alcoholic father and being bullied in middle school causing severe anxiety and separation anxiety from my mother. The doctors never took me off due to being diagnosed with GAD. At 33 I decided to come off it myself . So far I've Been off Zoloft for 7 months after tapering since 2021 from 100mg down to 0..

WD so far has been hell and beyond anything I have ever experienced in my life.

i am having the EXACT same symptoms and coincidentally emailed Angie Peacock (the coach) yesterday about these waves that almost feel acute at 12 months out and these horrible cortisol mornings that feel like death.  She is awesome and got back to me pretty quickly saying that almost everyone in WD has these and for whatever reason they tend to last the longest.

I too have been waking and just crying out to the Lord for peace and rest and for this to pass.  He always carry’s me through and will for you too.

Yesterday was a particular doozy for me and I could barely make it through the day but the Lord restored me last night and I feel somewhat better today.

We have to keep crying out and asking for peace, acceptance and comfort and he will provide.

As I’ve said so many times, I love this thread!!!  Bless you all and you will be in my prayers!  🙏🙏🙏♥️♥️♥️

Thank you SO much for this. For some reason it helps to know I'm not the only one and that this is common at this point. Yes! The cortisol mornings are hell. I try to take a walk In the morning to burn it off (if I'm not to bad) and it's a good time to connect with God. Again thank you for the reminder to call out to him, ask for help. Is Angie a coach that's on this site?
