JackieDecides
Happy New Year, @WiggleIt I hope things are going well with you. Currently taking Ramapril (blood pressure) 5 mg twice a day Omeprazole 10 mg AM and 20 mg PM (the taper has gone nowhere after the first cut) Famotidine once a day (and I still needs tums sometimes) magnesium 200 mg at night as of yesterday 2 fish oil capsules "EPA-DHA 1000" off Lexapro as of 5/2018 - last dose had been 5 mg every other day for a couple years highest dose had been 20 mg at which point I was diagnosed with Bipolar II, which went away when I cut the lexapro down to 15 mg. I spent years on Paxil before Lexapro (can't remember dose), briefly on Effexor and Abilify and others I have forgotten. in fact, when I was diagnoses with BPII I was put on all kinds of things which made me feel so bad I stopped them cold turkey within maybe 3 or 4 weeks, thank goodness. since then I've known these pills were terrible and I weaned down the Lexapro with zero help or support over I'm not sure how many years. B7 (Biotin) deficiency can cause cheilitis and alopecia together, and I believe that zinc, B2, B3, and iron deficiencies can as well. Since you mentioned having difficulty eating prior to the cheilitis, I wonder if dietary changes you had to undergo could have led to a micronutrient deficiency....stranger things have happened! I’ve followed your progress along for a few years. I am struck by the positivity and humor that come out in your writings, despite all you’ve been through. You are such a bada**. I am sorry you’ve been through these ordeals. I hope 2019 brings a good butt-whippin’ to all this stuff. Hi Wishes! Thank you so much for the feedback. Yes, I've had my serum blood and micronutrient blood cell exams to check for vitamin deficiencies, and stuff is popping up pretty okay with vitamins and minerals. It's much better now than it was years ago when I was in acute WD. Because I've had such bad luck with supplements, I just had to address things dietarily over the years, but, apparently, I haven't done too terrible of a job, because I've actually raised some levels since acute WD! My iron is still a bummer, though, and I cannot take iron supplements because those slam me back into waves. Not long waves (like, just a few hours), but holy heck is that NOT anything I ever want to experience again. I eat meat and use blackstrap molasses and just hope for the best. And I have an army of false eyelashes and glue ready to go if I ever need them. I had a massive chunk of lashes fall out and stay bald for a good month, then they just decided to grow back, thank God. They're not as awesome or thick as they used to be, but at least they came back! Also, my cheilitis seems to be taking a turn for the better, but I'm kind of afraid to jinx myself by talking about it. I'm really hoping I can post a positive update about that sooner rather than later! It's a relief to hear that I sometimes manage to be funny on here I hope so! I just love this forum. luv2knit
❤️❤️❤️❤️ Zoloft 100 mg. daily for Chronic Fatigue Syndrome since Oct. 1994 / Synthroid 88 mcg. daily / Supplements: Neptune Krill Oil-1,000 mg. twice daily/Astaxanthin 10 mg. twice daily/Ubiquinol 100 mg. twice daily (These 3 have allowed me to discontinue (approved by doctor) bp meds I was on. Calcium Citrate 500 mg. daily/Vitamin D3 2,400 iu daily/K2 (MK7) 100 mcg daily (osteopenia and fam. hist. of severe osteoporosis). Stress B Complex (1/2 dose)/Quercetin (for allergies/asthma)/Magnesium (400 mg. oral glycinate and about 50 mg. magnesium chloride spray oil a day, divided throughout day). Tapered Zoloft about 6 wks. Totally off since the end of July (25-29, 2014). 3 wks. vertigo at end of taper, then 3-4 wks. OK, followed by withdrawal symptoms increasing in severity (nausea, gastric disturbances, loss of appetite, insomnia, restlessness, jitters, anxiety, agitation--jumping out of my skin--possible akathisia?) Seem to have paradoxical reactions to everything new, even Vitamin C. Severity of akathisia comes and goes, but is constant to some degree. Hard to leave house, and cannot be home alone. And so happy to hear about your physical improvements as well. Best wishes, and may things continue to improve for you 🙏🏻 Started on Effexor 75 immediate release 1/2015. Took it once a day, which was the way the doctor prescribed it. Stopped Effexor after taking it for 4 months; fast taper over 3-4 weeks; 5/2015-6/2015 Daily "brain zaps" and other neurological symptoms (vertigo, dizziness, headaches, ticking in left ear) without improvement since stopping Effexor, starting early 6/2015 Brain zaps and other neurological changes for about 16 months, then decided to go back on Effexor, 9/2016 Symptoms disappeared on Effexor 112.5 mg (I ramped up from 37.5 to see what would work) Slow taper back down. Brain zaps recurred especially below 75 mg. Link to comment

Moderator Emeritus WiggleIt Posted April 16, 2019 Author Moderator Emeritus Share Posted April 16, 2019 Many apologies for not being able to support members currently. I'm dealing with a heavy load right now. In fact, I need a hand. Can someone please help me and let me know about different experiences with antibiotics? I'm dealing with a staph infection, a supposedly minor one, but this is not the time to mess about with home remedies. I know to stay away from fluoroquinolones. Can anyone tell me about experiences with azithromycin or erithromycin? Or Keflex? Any help appreciated.
